Log;

A tree was the perfect place for scheming, well, at least behind one. She had nestled herself between a wall of bramble and leaves, high enough to conceal but with enough of an opening to let her gaze upon the two lovebirds. They would probably be here in a few minutes, so she quickly summoned her staff--hopefully the light from her magic wouldn't catch their attention.

Kurogane stuck his free hand in his pocket as he moved up the hill, the other hand loosely holding a jar at his side. What could he say? He was a sucker for little Sakuras. Not that the princess didn't know how to manipulate him just as well---

The ninja huffed. It was definately a "Sakura" trait.

Fai at least had already started what he’d originally come here to do, and that was stargaze. It would be a pretty awful lie to say that he wasn’t interested in the sky, which was something he’d come to make a habit out of trying to puzzle out what everything meant up there in the big expanse of it, and how it usually changed from world to world. Not by much, but it did faintly, especially when they were stuck in Yama Country for nearly a whole year.

That was a sky.

As the mage waltzed around the nearest tree, he turned lazily on his heel and began to walk backwards, whistling rather poorly, if you could even call that sound a whistle. "Hyuu, hyuu~" It was clear that he was cheerful, at the very least, especially since he’d met a smaller version of their princess, and he was already making plans on adopting her, too.

He had almost reached the top of the hill when he heard a familiar "hyuu, hyuu~" nearby. His head jerked up toward his destination, blinking in surprise as he spotted, of all people, the mage there.

That little sneak. The both of them, actually.

He smirked, stopping near the mage and pulling the hand out of his pocket, planting it on his hip.

"And here you said you were going to go work on the Cafe." he stated, one eyebrow raised.

"WAAAH~!" Flailing comically with a pretty squawk, the mage nearly falls over as he backpedals into the figure of the ninja, who’s apparently been standing right behind him. Sheepish, Fai glances up at Kurogane with a light shrug and a laugh, amused as he puts two and two together. "And I thought you were going to spar with Syaoran-kun~ looks like we’ve been fooled huh, Kuro-toaster~?"

Maybe it would’ve been funnier if the little Sakura had come out to point and laugh at them, but as the mage tossed his wispy head back and forth and around the ninja to search for her, she couldn’t be found. Taking on a look of cheerful bewilderment, Fai tilted his head, humming quietly. "Think we’ve been stood up~?"

"Somehow, I think we were more "set up" than--" The ninja paused halfway through his sentence as a soft breeze began to blow, and the scent of flowers filled the air.

"What---?"

And the mage is already taking full advantage of the shift in the wind, and in the magic that suddenly flows and caresses them both gently, comfortingly. This is a kind flow of sorcery, and he’s not in the least bit worried, for who else could it be other than their little mischievous Sakura? He grinned, certain that he liked her, already.

"Come dance with meeee~!" As Fai abruptly latched onto Kurogane’s hand he went sailing around the fields with the breeze, just letting out a heavy sigh, happy for the distraction and time to relax a little more.

The ninja literally squawked, stumbling forward as Fai tugged on him, though he followed fairly easily enough. "Dance? What the hell, ma--"

[identity profile] fooolery.livejournal.com 2007-09-26 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
And Fai stopped just as suddenly as he’d started, pausing as a bright beam of light floated leisurely past them both, which caused a softer smile to tug at his lips. "Ne, Kuro-spoon~" Tugging at his hand a little to get the ninja to stoop down to his slightly shorter height, the mage lowered his voice, mischievously intrigued. "I think we’re being waaatched~ by a little fairy-girl, huh?"

One of the orbs of light traveled around them again, taking along with it the softly scented breeze, and his smile widened. This was really, really nice of her to do for them, and he’d be stupid to let it all go to waste.

So, with that in mind, Fai threw his lanky arms up into the air and promptly wailed to the sky in mock, overly dramatic fashion typical of his silliness. "OOOOOH~ WHAT’LL WE DO, WHAT’LL WE DO! It’s all so pretty, ne? Like a daaate~"

[ ooc; thanks for the clarification~! ^.^ ]

Kurogane bent slightly as the mage tugged him down, blinking at the words Fai whispered to him.

"I know that." he stated in a hushed tone. "She's somewhere over by the tree. Either behind it or in it, I can't tell. What, you thought I didn't know someone was there?" Now that was mildy insulting to his ninja pride. He jerked back, however, plugging his ears as the mage wailed overdramatically.

"Oi, oi! Keep it down--are you trying to make me deaf or something?!"

Fai was marginally upset in a dramatic and not at all serious way that Kurogane didn’t know he knew that the ninja knew this whole time, or at least pretended that he didn’t know he knew. Ah, love. Smugly, the mage poked a finger into the ninja’s cheek playfully, halfway through laughing out a reply before something totally unexpected happened and he was left, for once, totally dumbfounded.

It was a lovely set up; from the white-clothed tables, to the elegantly placed silverware, the warmly scented food and even the fresh flowers and candles that adorned the whole picture, making the purpose of such an evening quite clear.

"Aah~" Mouth dry, Fai glanced uneasily at Kurogane with a meek smile, head titled. "Ninjas first~?"
