Log; Ongoing
When; September 29th [Daytime]
Rating; TBC
Characters; Tatsumi Seiichirou [
kageseii] and Tsuzuki Asato [
wearedarkness]
Summary; A bit of a little heart-to-heart.
Log;
Tsuzuki had always had a weakness for sweets, this was absolutely no secret to anyone - it was almost a fact handed over during introductions. The saying “The way to a man’s hear was through his stomach” could have been created about him, but then it could also be argued that it didn’t take much for Tsuzuki to express affection toward someone.
He seemed quite contented however; chewing happily on a section of apple pie with his eyes closed and that happy smile upon his face. It was partly a mask though, of course. The Shinigami was a little shaken by something that had happened the day before and though it had been mostly resolved and he had calmed down considerably the subjects were fresh on his mind and prominent.
Pausing before he took a second bite of the pie, blinking up at the one who’d made it with those bright amethyst eyes before smiling at him “You said you took a slice already, right? But are you really sure you don’t want to sit and share with me?” He poked the tip of his tongue out playfully “Last chance ...because otherwise I’m going to eat it all.”

That certain someone was sticking out the tip of his tongue out at him in a challenge. Manners - where, within that shinigami's body, did he keep such things as manners locked away?
"Tsuzuki-san, you shouldn't show your tongue like that," he quickly snapped, looking up from his tea to shoot the other a mildly disapproving stare. And after a moment of standing within the kitchen, he crossed to sit at the dining table, across the table from Tsuzuki. "You'd probably eat it all anyhow," Tatsumi added, looking at the already half-consumed pie.
And he had had only a sixteenth of it.

He pushed a hand briefly into his bangs, holding his forehead for a moment as he retained that cheerful look. There was little for him to maintain a frown over after all; the question curse had been lifted and the day seemed blissfully free of any other complications that the City seemed prone to throw at its citizens.
"Sorry, Tatsumi. I won’t do it again." Just a fleeting kind of promise and he knew it. Tatsumi would certainly know it too.
With a sheepish little grin, Tsuzuki rubbed the side of his head at the second comment from his friend "Yeah, I can’t really argue with that. I just can’t help it!" He seemed genuinely very pleased when Tatsumi took a seat with him however. Their schedules seemed to keep them both busy, moments like this one had always been somewhat rare.

Well, he seemed not to be too distressed.
"Food is meant to be eaten, anyway," Tatsumi conceded, observing the shrinking amount of pie left. He had his bets within his mind that it would be completely devoured in the next five minutes. "Besides, it would have been a shame to see those apples go to waste."

The fork in his hand twisted slightly between his fingers, heading toward the remains of the pie before it seemed to pause just sort of the sticky-sweet food, hovering thoughtfully as he bobbed the utensil a few times.
"Hey, Tatsumi," He started in a slightly quieter voice "...do you think we'll get to go home soon?"
Tsuzuki himself didn't even know where that had come from. Apparently, being in the City was on his mind more than he was letting on, even to himself. There was a lot he was feeling that area, but nothing had really shown him to find the place truly unpleasant. Not to the extent it did for many others in residence, at least.

He sighed a little to himself, watching pensively as the fork Tsuzuki held dangled threateningly over what little apple pie was left. "From what information I've gathered, Tsuzuki-san, escape is not possible the more you look for it," he stated matter-of-factly, recalling the notices he had seen about the network. And with that doctor still within the confines of the city, it only made the thought uneasy upon his mind. "I don't know when we may return, to be honest."
That was even more unsettling a statement to make than he had let on. The bureau office in Meifu is probably in shambles now, Tatsumi thought to himself with a slight grimace appearing at the imagery of it all.

The fork hovering over the final scrap of pie wasn't falling though, and in fact after a moment Tsuzuki sighed and placed it down upon the table. His hands folded together in a sort of arch as he rested his forehead against them, closing his eyes.
"...I've not really been looking for a way out, I've perhaps been enjoying meeting new people a bit too much lately." he admitted at length. Behind the words were of course the linger feeling that it was nice not to be an active Shinigami for the time being. It just one of the many areas that plagued Tsuzuki from time to time; his love of life while doing a job he did was difficult to say the least.
"But I was just thinking about it lately, that's all. So... We're just supposed to assume we'll be staying here indefinitely until proven otherwise?" He lifted his eyes toward Tatsumi as he spoke that.
The mixed feelings were painfully obvious in those eyes of his; concern for the concept itself, guilt for enjoying the time spent there so far, perhaps a bit of fear somewhere in there, too. There were no prizes for guessing the reasons behind that though. The City was too small an area for Tsuzuki's liking, but wherever possible he was happy to avoid thinking too heavily about that.
