Summary; Isuzu arrives in the City and Kagura offers her a place to stay.
Log;

Isuzu-chan was in the City. While Kagura was glad to be able to see her again, of course she was worried about what Akito would try to do...but that could wait. The City in itself was dangerous especially for someone who knew nothing of its dangers. The last thing Kagura wanted was for Isuzu to get attacked or killed by one of the many hostile forces in the City.

Kagura had let Saki know where she was headed and bolted out the door. She just needed to make sure that Isuzu was at least safe for the night. She'd work on convincing her to stay longer once Isuzu was actually in her apartment. After a few moments Kagura came neared the hot springs area and gently called out. "Isuzu-chan, are you here?"

No matter what Rin did, she always seemed to hurt him. Why couldn't he just let go of her? Could he not see that she was just holding him down? Rin did not want Akito to hurt Haru, not her Haru, her sweet dream, and thus she pushed him away, but he was as stubborn as an ox, and simply refused. Of course Akito would be here. Perhaps has he not, Rin would have given into that temptation to run into Haru's arms, and bury her sorrows there. At least Akito would not have been there to fill her mind with doubts and worries, but such things were not reality.

She sat, small as she could, against the side of the building. In truth, Rin didn't care about herself. The stress on her body was already wearing her down, and she knew that given enough time, she'd transform. She did not even know the last time she had had something to eat, nor did she seem to care. Her eyes jerked, gaze narrowing, though Kagura had come alone. Slowly, and with much effort, the woman rose to her feet. Her soft voice returned the call. "I'm here."

Those wary eyes peered almost angrily from beneath the fringe of her bangs, though it was clear that Rin was not truly angry, at least not with Kagura, but more so with herself. Although no smile was offered in return, that piercing look within her eyes softened a touch, before she turned her head away. "Yes. If that guide I was given is true, then we should."

She took her slow steps toward Kagura, telling herself she would not submit, not transform. Her eyes snapped back to Kagura, and she shook her head, her dull gaze held upon the girl. "No. I'm not hungry."

In another time, and another place, Rin would have actually liked Kagura. Not that she hated her, though Rin never really made much of an effort to know her. She could never understand the love that she held, and was actually just a bit jealous that she could be so open with it. Nodding her head twice to prove she understood, Rin looked to Kagura, for she would lead the way.

Eyes narrowed, as Rin paused, looking at Kagura. Nostrils flared slightly, for Rin was not comfortable eating around anyone, anyone that is but Haru. "No. I don't want anything to drink either."

Rin could be stubborn like that.

Rin gave a slight nod of her head, her eyes slowly lifting up to glance in the direction which Kagura pointed. She was quite glad that Akito would not be in that building, for Rin would have bolted despite her health, and being the horse, no one would have caught up to her until her body failed, or she allowed them. Instead, Rin kept her silence, slowly following Kagura, though wary eyes, akin to those who were used to being prey, continued to shift.

Despite herself, her lips twitched slightly at Kagura's statement, though Rin would not submit to eating. Stupid, yes, but it was her way of doing things. Maybe.. but she would not allow herself to hope with Haru. After all, she just weighed him down. "Perhaps."

Listless eyes did not bother to keep track of where they were going or had been, and Rin submitted herself to following silently behind Kagura.

Silence was golden, or at least Rin thought so. Then, you were not forced to listen to the voice screaming down upon you. It's what she looked forward too, those few precious moments where nothing seemed to matter, and she could do as she pleased. Thus, the silence did not bother her, as it was a part of who Rin was. If anything, knowing Kagura, she'd eventually start prying, and depending upon Rin's mood, she would respond accordingly.

"Hmm," was the only response that Kagura got out of Rin as they continued walking, for Rin did not know Saki though knowing Rin, she would treat her the same way she treated others; ignoring them. Her arms though wrapped around her frame, and Rin dropped her head. Although that inner anger still seemed to consume her, she had calmed down, to an extent. "This place is stranger than home..."

"Nine months?" Rin's voice sounded rather high pitched as she said that, her eyes darting over to Kagura. That made no sense, for if Kagura had been missing for 9 months, Rin surely would have heard about it. Feeling the beat of her heart start to pick up, her arms wrapped tighter around her body, squeezing her eyes shut.

Rin's mind was elsewhere now, starting to leave. Her breaths came in short gasps, wondering if all this was another form of punishment from their God, Akito. Startled at Kagura's voice, she looked, and nodded. She could make it to the second floor, couldn't she...?

Kagura's words startled Rin further, and wide eyes shifted to the girl. For several moments she was quiet, then, she spoke. "You are saying you are from the future?"

Her mind fumbled over that. Was it so, or was it something deeper then any of them could understand. Without realizing what she was saying, Rin replied with, "Elevator."

For once, she took the easy road in life.

"Hn," was the only noise that Rin made, yet her mind was at work. Did Kagura know something, anything, that might break the curse? It was vain to hope such a thing, for lessons had been learned the hard way when it came to trusting in hope.

Eyes restlessly rolled around, hands clenching at her stomach, feeling that ulcer flare up, and reveling in the pain it caused. A slight noise was made, though she blinked with slight interest at Kagura. Despite herself, she asked, "A business?"

[identity profile] zodiac-uma.livejournal.com 2007-10-08 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
A bakery? That surprised Rin, though it was not as if she actually knew a lot about Kagura, although she had been living with her and her family for quite some time. Rin was still skittish and shy, abrasive and stand off-ish, despite the fact that Kagura and her lot had done nothing to her, unlike her own parents. "Sounds..." but here Rin struggled for words, before settling on, "interesting."

Sluggish steps followed, and Rin leaned her body against the side of the elevator. It was a good thing that Kagura did not voice those thoughts, for Rin would have lashed out. Nothing could get better so long as Akito was here and so long as the curse still survived. Her body slumped closer to the side of the elevator, hands holding on, though the ride in itself would not be a long one, and the doors soon opened again.

Rin gave a soft nod of her head. A part of her wanted to hope that a new start could be had, though she doubted that she could be like Kagura. Although Rin seemed to give off confidence, in many ways, Kagura really was more confident. Even though she might not always get her way, Kagura would attempt and keep trying no matter what. She would be vocal about her attempt, not trying to do it by herself. Perhaps that was one of the reasons that it annoyed Rin so much.

She walked slowly then, her mind reeling about everything that she had learned, hands still clutched at her sides. All she wanted now was to collapse, but this was neither the time nor the place. She nodded her head at Kagura's words, her eyes softening in an attempt to keep moving.
