Summary; Envy and Rhode have been indulging in their favourite type of fun.
Log;

Envy walked past a young man in the dimly lit street and nodded at him, giving him a friendly smile. The man merely looked away and hurried onwards. Hmm, Envy though to himself, the lack of light is really making people nervous.

He turned to look at the human who'd been foolish enough to turn his back to him. He'd never know what hit him. Envy was currently looking like a non-descript human, average height, average weight, average everything. The same disguise he'd used for the previous three murders.

He ran quickly towards the man, grabbing him from behind and putting him in a chokehold. He struggled briefly but he was no match for Envy, especially with his currently enhanced strength.

Waiting to make sure the human was unconcious, and glancing around to make sure no one had seen anything, he slung the man over his shoulder and darted towards the alley in a flash of superhuman speed, to where Rhode was waiting to 'make sure their victim wouldn't be a witness' once he came back to life the next day.

Her laugh echoed around the alleyway, shrill and unforgiving. A smile was painted on her childlike face. An expression that no child would ever posess. Topaz-coloured eyes glittered with blood lust, anticipating what was to come.

Oh, she hadn't had so much fun in a long time! The very thrill of the hunt sent her heart racing, thirsting for blood, for the agonized screams of their victims that was truly the most beautiful sound she knew.

A flash caught the corner of her eye as she turned to Envy, now dragging their fourth victim into the alleyway. In her small child's hand she carried a thin silver dagger. "Bring him closer." she trilled in a singsong voice, clapping her hands together in sheer excitement.

A swift flash of silver, a scream of agony that was quickly stifled by her arm. His eyes were bleeding, she had punctured them with the knife. "This way you won't know who we are~" she trilled, feeling rather accomplished at their own cleverness.

The man writhed under her arm, struggling. Oh, she loved it when they fought back. It made it ever so much fun! His fear was evident in the soft whimpers he was currently emitting. Pathetic human. Bringing the knife to her lips, her tongue lapped the edge of it, tasting the sickly sweet and metallic flavour of blood.

It was delicious, really. Especially because it carried the scent of fear. Rhode smiled, the edges of her mouth stained crimson now. Her laughter was shrill, keening. Her body shook with pure mirth, eyes crinkling at the edges.

With her knife, she drew crimson lines across his face and on his chest, ripping through the fabric. A white shirt. How lovely. The effect of the crimson staining the linen was actually quite beautiful. Almost artistic, in a sense.

The night had only just begun, really.

Rhode pouted as she saw how easily his body went limp. Was this some kind of defense mechanism humans had? They always seemed to faint whenever the pain inflicted on them became too much. She sighed, looking down at the mangled human. They always did break so easily. Perhaps it was good that this human had passed out so early. It would certainly stop the pain they were inflicting on him.

Those who refused to break always suffered the most pain. She was bored with this one already. It was much more fun when they fought back, like he did. Allen Walker's determination was boundless. Perhaps that was why she wanted him in the first place. To be the one to finally break him.

"Why thank you~" she laughed slightly at his offer, which was really too kind. Her small figure stepped towards the bloody mass, licking her lips as she descended upon him with her knife. She really didn't want to get her clothes bloody, but it looked like there wasn't a choice. Besides, she might as well enjoy herself.

She sunk the knife hilt deep into his chest, jerking it around in the muscle in short motions. The sound of cracking bone and tearing muscle was really beautiful. She stabbed relentlessly, again and again until there was a deep hole in his chest. Smirking, Rhode reached down and ripped the weakly beating heart from his chest.

Satisfied, she threw the organ at Envy's feet, red-stained lips curled into a smile. Her hands were also stained red, sticky and glistening from the human's blood. Her childish white dress was still unstained, surpsingly. Years of experience had taught her that leaving evidence on your clothing was not a good idea. Besides, the Earl didn't like looking at filthy human remains.

Her small foot kicked the heart over to the mangled heap, currently splayed against the wall. "Shall we leave, then? Look for more victims?"

So it was true, the sky really had gone black. Not a star in the sky at all.

Shinji sighed, rubbing the back of his neck briefly as he glanced around almost nervously. It was nicer looking directly ahead where there were the lights of the City. The empty sky made him uncomfortable so he was glad the blackout didn't count for the buildings around him as well otherwise he really would start to have a kind of mental panic.

The City was so strange compared to where he'd come from. He was almost starting to consider it home if only because nothing was required of him. He had no real pressures and the ones he did have were on a personal level. Somehow, they weighed heavier on him since there were nothing else to rival them.

A shiver ran up his back however. Something didn't feel right and he couldn't put his finger on it. He was supposed to be meeting with Asuka and Misato for a meal. Mistao's idea of keeping them all in contact, he assumed. It would end in a fight though, no doubt. It always did. How annoying. Still, it was easier to agree and go than refuse and stand up for the fact he found these little pseudo-family meetings silly. Besides, he didn't want to hurt Misato's feelings.

He did have the right day though, didn't he? Yes. The right time? Certainly. So why was he feeling so strange like something was wrong? He really couldn't place it at all...

Her topaz eyes glanced around at their surroundings. Quiet, residential areas. The types that were not used to violence. According to Envy, they were near Building 3, whichever one that was. Human dwellings all looked the same to her. It was too quiet for her tastes, and she couldn't wait until the air was pierced with the screams of their new victim.

Rhode smiled as Envy managed to bring in yet another victim. "Thank you~" she giggled slightly as she moved forward, pulling something colourful out of her dress. One of her sharpened candles, her favourite type of weapon. They were nice and sharp, yet so cute, especially since hers were pink and baby blue. It was with these candles that she'd also stabbed another eye, a strange, cursed left eye. Now that had been fun. Ah, the memories.

Her small hand quickly gripped the blunt end of the candle, plunging the stake into both the boy's eyes, reveling in the blood it drew out. This one was going to be fun. He was young, and perhaps his body wouldn't give in as easily as the other ones. They had all been so boring, toys that broke too easily. She wanted...a change. Something new, something to get the blood pumping in her body.

Rhode's changed since the beginning of their little spree. She had looked more human then, with pale skin and dark hair, just an innocent-looking little girl. Her skin was now a dark, tawny colour, and a line of crosses were etched prominently into her forehead. Her true form, the face of a Noah.

The initial impact of his skull making hard contact with the wall as it had done had left his head spinning and the whole thing had happened so fast he could do little more than give out a dull yelp of a pained noise.

What the hell was happening? His forehead felt quite numb, even though he was aware of the blood trickling down his face and dripping off his chin; wounds to the head tended to bleed a lot from very little, but even so it left him feeling dizzy and nauseated.

Shinji hadn't even had time to gather his thoughts before his already darkened surroundings were plunged into complete nothingness and with it came a startling pain he hadn't experienced for many months. That raw, tearing sensation that sent an unspeakable wave of pain through his body that escaped from his throat in a horrifying shriek from the agony of it.

What the hell was going on?! The times he'd experienced pain like that he had been in the Eva, the huge bio-weapon that was somehow linked directly to his being. He had never felt that kind of pain outside the entry plug and as his hands grabbed at his face, feeling the warmth of the blood run over his palms and fingers, he felt a cold hard truth rest on his shoulder. He was just a normal boy here. He had no powers, not even with this curse going on. He had no access to Unit 01. He had nothing. He was just a helpless human kid.

The fear from that knowledge was crippling and he couldn't even hear the hoarse sounds of his cries any more.

She wanted blood. More of it. She wanted this boy's skin to be stained with it. It would look so delicious, with the crimson streaks on his skin. She was going to make a work of art.

Rhode moved forwards, wondering what to do with the human. Their bodies were so easily broken, and there were so many ways to do so. It all just added to the fun~. Let's see...something different.

The knife was back in her hands, now. What was the best way to draw out the agony for him? His hands. That would be fun. The sound of bones cracking...

Grabbing one of his wrists, Rhode brought the knife down on it, as hard as she could...

He wouldn't survive this night, that's for sure.

The City was unlike any place he'd ever been before. Actually, that was a bit of a lie. It sort of reminded him of the Rewinding City where he and Lenalee had met with Miranda, and Rhode, for the first time. It was completely separate from everywhere else with no way of getting out if you were actively looking for it. That part troubled Allen; there were unsettled scores back home he couldn't afford to stay here. But the harder you looked the further away escape went. He knew this now and was trying very hard not to let it get to him.

As such, Allen had decided all that all he could do at this time was get used to his surroundings, especially in case he was going to be within them for sometime. Walking through the streets under a starless sky he felt oddly calm. It could be worse; at least Kanda and Rabi were there too. He wasn't alone, though half of the company at least was less than inviting.

The tranquil feeling was broken however but the sounds of blood-chilling screams followed but what sounded like muffled noises of pain before falling into a disturbing kind of silence.

Narrowing his eyes, Allen tore down the streets in the direction of the noise, stopping short as he saw trails of crimson creeping across the floor toward his feet. His eyes travelled up slowly, widening as they laid about Shinji's torn and motionless form on the floor. Time seemed to slow then as he lifted his eyes further, seeing those neat little black shoes, stripped stockings, cute pleated skirt and filled shirt, further up until his eyes lay upon the Noah's face.

"R... Rhode...!" Allen gasped from shock. The Noah were here in the City too? Perhaps lucky for her Homunculus companion, Allen hadn't noticed Envy there yet - his attention had been caught up too quickly in seeing Rhode there and the victim. The shock and the sense of dread swirling around in his stomach had him frozen stiff.

That voice...sounded familiar.

Her head turned enough to spot a familiar face. White hair, gray eyes, an ugly scar marking his left eye. Allen Walker.

"ALLEN~" she cried delightedly as she launched herself at him.

Rhode's smile turned into one of pure childish joy. She reverted immediately back to her 'human' form, rushing at him. Really, he needn't look so shocked, or horrified. Soon her arms were around his slim waist, hugging him tightly. "I've missed you so~ It's been no fun without you." She was slightly shorter than he was and fit into his arms perfectly.

Without warning, Rhode leaned over and kissed him, full on the lips. Ah, this was fun. He tasted so sweet, too~

It was common knowledge amongst her family that she quite fancied the Exorcist. Rhode wasn't sure what drew her to him. Perhaps it was that burning determination that just refused to die? Or those eyes that looked at her with pity, his conviction that he would 'save' her? Did he really think he could be 'saved'? Or perhaps it was his innocence. It wasn't faked, like hers was. He was like a breath of fresh air, really. So cute, even when he was angry. She only saw him when he was angry.

He was an exorcist. No, a filthy human. Who could have known that a human boy would attract her so?

She didn't wait for him to push her away, like she knew he would. She broke off, although her arms still remained around his waist. She was squeezing him tight, and wasn't going to let go anytime soon.

He was her toy, after all.

Allen's eyes went wide with a kind of shock mixed with something else, obvious displeasure most likely.

Naturally, he had been ready to shove the Noah off him after such close contact like that but she'd already moved too quickly. In spite of himself, he found that he was blushing quite heavily. It was such an intimate act, how could Rhode do that so easily? Allen stared down at her slightly with those silvered eyes, frowning then as he placed his hands upon her shoulders, pushing himself away from her.

"Rhode, what the hell are you doing?!" He clenched his fists at his sides, shaking slightly from anger. So she’d been playing, that much was clear by the trails of blood across the floor and motionless boy that lay there. It enraged him. How could something so cruel be done with such ease?

His emotions had been drawn completely to the Noah, Envy hadn’t fallen into his eye line at all as he drew his left arm force "Innocence--!!" He was preparing to activate his anti-akuma weapon.
