When; November 2, Evening
Rating; PG13-R, because Adiane may or may not get violent with him.
Characters; Greed [livejournal.com profile] so_very_greedy and Adiane [livejournal.com profile] overelegant
Summary; Greed finally gets Adiane to agree to a date, but what does the night hold for these two opposites?
Log;
Greed was just busying himself with the final preparations for his date when he heard the famiilar clack of heels on the steps of the temple steps. A sound he had heard many time, from many different women, but each unique and special in it's own melodious way. He covered the food he had ordered and pulled the good wine from the refrigerator, then set it all on a cart and placed it aside in the kitchen.

"She's here~," he chirped happily, almost giddy with anticipation. There was always a certain satisfaction in reaching a sought after goal, and Greed had "sought" a date with Adiane for a long time, now.

He darted to the main room, sliding the last 13 feet across the hardwood floor. He pushed open the massive, cathedral-like entrance door and bowed deeply to the woman he knew was on the other side.

"Nice of you to come, pretty Miss Adiane. Welcome."

For a second, real fear crossed her features and she almost cowered, the blood rushing quickly through her cold, dead heart and pounding in her ears. She blinked up at him, jaw slightly agape and working, trying to forumlate a response to his outburst.

What he was saying was the truth.

She would not be able to speak until she regained even the tiniest shred of composure back, so she took a moment simply to breathe. To push aside her fear, swallow her pride.

When she spoke, it was pitiful, and she just as soon kill herself after the words left her mouth, "You're right."

The last little bit of fear melting away at his apology, Adiane straightened and regarded him seriously, without the usual air of arrogance she carried.

"This is my fault," she explained calmly, looking him square in the eyes. "I don't like, let alone trust, men in general. I've had to suffer a lot of ridicule and embarrassment in my lifetime thanks to my gender. There are only three men I have ever trusted with all of my heart and soul. Two of those men are here."

She blinked slowly.

"And one of those men, I need more than you right now."

Adiane, suddenly feeling very drained after that little fiasco, did not argue as she got into her heels. Begrudgingly, she approached him, wrapping her towel loosely around his neck.

"Thanks for the talk, anyway," she muttered, none to happy for having to thank Greed for anything, but he did help her.
