Summary; Shopping for a cello!
Log;
Asuka tapped her foot, crossed her arms across her chest and scrunched up her face, not because she is upset about waiting, but because it is what people who are upset about waiting do. Shinji was not late, really; but Asuka had not meant to be early either, of course.
Still, she did not want Shinji to ask about her being early, and the best way to do that was to be upset, or at least appear so. How she loved striking fear into the hearts of scaredy boys! In truth however, maybe she just did not want to seem nice. It scares her, seeing how she was changing. She knew that maybe it was for the better, but she feared letting go of the barrier she had built to protect herself.
But enough of that.
She glanced at her watch with her brows furrowed, tapping her foot a little quicker. Where is that idiot Shinji?

But aside from the curses the city had, compared to some people, been okay to him. Sure, he'd died somewhere along the lines but... it could be worse. There were no angels, no Eva, his father wasn't there either. It was a second chance and he was glad for it.
Turning the corner then, he stops, blinks and smiles somewhat nervously at the Second Child "Er..." Ever the image of eloquence, is Shinji "You... weren't here long, were you, Asuka? I'm sorry I'm late." Even if he wasn't late apologies almost came automatically from him sometimes.

She turned around and walked away nonchalantly, as if she knew that Shinji would follow. "C'mon, slowpoke, I don't wanna be wasting the whole day with you." Not that she would mind it much. Asuka wondered if maybe she has learned a thing or two about forgiveness; forgiving Shinji for being Shinji as well as for being so similar to herself.

"I'm glad you waited," He said idly, smiling a little bit "I was starting to think I'd done something to make you mad again." That was a slight lie; if Asuka had been trying to contact him he hadn't noticed - the events over the city over the recent weeks caused him to hide away. Misato had left, Rei had left, Kaworu had left... He just wanted to hide a while. Then, he'd come out again and it felt like almost the second he had done he'd been accosted. And really, he didn't mind.

"Not mad at you," she replied, brushing off the matter with one hand. Asuka walked like an overworked tour guide, more interested in checking out her reflection in mirrors and fiddling with her nails than talking to him. It was all just for show, however. "What's your dream cello?" She asked nonchalantly.

Shinji almost purposefully dragged behind a little, his head hanging as he sighs, but really if coming along was that much of a chore he wouldn't have done it in the first place.
"Huh?" Lifting his head, the boy blinked "Er... dream cello? I... hadn't really thought about it. It's not something I learnt because I was interested, or anything." Ahh, Shinji. Bland as ever. True, he had no real dreams and he had only learnt to play because he was told to.

"'Cause if you don't then you're wasting my time," she spoke with acid in her voice.

"N-no, I'm not wasting your time! O-of course I want it!" He smiles a shaky kind smile, making a slightly nervous sound "I wouldn't have come along otherwise. Honest!"
Partly true. He was also a little too scared to turn Asuka down...

"Tell me what you want," she demanded. "What you really want."

"What I want..." He mused lightly. Sighing then, he looks back at her and smiles a little "Let's see what we can find. I doubt there will be a lot of choice here, really. I... want to play again, though... So it's okay. Let's just see what we can find, okay?"

Someone who wanted so little should just lie down somewhere and wait to die. What would be the difference to them anyway? They would be wasting oxygen being alive.
