Log;

She loved to come by Ajisai, even though it had taken her weeks to pronounce the name properly. She loved being around flowers, and honestly, she loved being around her boyfriend of nearly two months. She really did care for him a lot, just thinking about him made her heart pick up pace. She hummed a little, and gripped onto the bells on the door, making sure it didn’t jingle when she slipped inside. She had told him that she was going to stop by Joshua’s first, just to throw him off the scent when she came to surprise him and go shopping. She wanted to bring Joshua some sweets, and she didn’t see why she shouldn’t drag him along with her. Smiling to herself widely, she tiptoed through the flowers, looking for the dark haired man.

Said dark-haired teenager was working currently amongst the sunflowers, his working apron tied around his waist, watering pail in hand. He was currently working on rearranging the pots and making sure the flowers were properly watered. He was planning on closing up in a couple hours, so he was slowly beginning preparations for the evening. Because he was cursed, his instincts weren’t quite as sharp as they normally were, and being more engrossed in his task than normal, he didn’t hear the door open, and was currently unaware of the blond-haired girl sneaking up on him.

Placing a hand over her mouth to keep herself from spilling her secret by laughing, she tip toed up behind him, before with a little breath, she threw her arms about his waist and leaned all of her weight forward. "BOO!"

Doumeki made a startled noise in the back of his throat as he was tackled from behind, stumbling forward a step before he regained his balance, blinking as he looked down at the arms clasped around his waist. Aha. He’d know those arms anywhere. He set the pail down before he turned around in those arms, the beginnings of a smile appearing at the corners of his mouth as he pulled off his working gloves and dropped them unceremoniously on the ground so he could slide his arms around her shoulders. “You got me.” he stated, raising an eyebrow down at his girlfriend.

She just grinned up at him, eyes closed as she shook with laughter. "You are so jumpy." She teased, leaning into his chest ad he held her, comfortable in his arms. "I decided to come by here before I went back home, To see if you'd like to do a little shopping with me. You know how Joshua hates to share my time." She winked at him, warm and happy. "Of course, you could stay..." She wibbled her bottom lip, giving him a big puppy dog look.

The archer’s smile widened as he heard her laughter, then visibly relaxed more as she snuggled into his arms. He chuckled, slightly, at the puppy face she gave him, and he bent down slightly to plant a quick kiss on her lips. “Something tells me the plants won’t get up and walk away if I’m not here. Lemmie just get my keys.” He slid out of her arms momentarily with one more brief peck, before pulling off his apron and heading into the back room to hang it up, grabbing his keys off the hook.

The girl flushed, as he brushed his lips against hers, twice, and put one hand against her cheek as she waited for him to get his keys. It wasn’t the first time he had kissed her, but today it felt especially strange, like the very first time when he had asked her out. She wasn’t as comfortable as he was with the close contact, but it didn’t stop her from loving it. She leaned back on the table holding the sunflowers, watching the area he had ducked into with a comfortable, easy smile, her cheeks warm. It was funny how he made her feel this way. "Hurry up! The stores are going to close if we don’t get going!"

“I know, I’m coming.” Doumeki stated, returning from the back room, twirling the keys around one finger. “Alright, let’s go.”

She shook her head at him, grinning down at her feet as she headed for the door, brushing her fingers over the sunflowers. "Its getting chilly out, this time of year." She said off handedly, pulling her jacket tight about herself and buttoning it up, expecting the wind as they opened the door and stepped onto the streets. "The city is really pretty right now."

The archer turned to lock the door behind him, before he slipped the keys back into his pocket. “With the leaves and that. Been meaning to visit Xanadu, but there hasn’t been the chance.” Doumeki shrugged his own jacket onto his shoulders, zipping it up, before he caught up with Rosette, slipping an arm around her shoulders to help keep her warm. Really.

She flushed again, and leaned into his side, placing her hands deep in her pockets. "Its probably really beautiful." She murmured, "Like something out of a romance novel." She teased him lightly, turning her blue eyes up to meet his gold ones. "We could swing through there real quick." she offered.

Doumeki cocked his head slightly, his hand squeezing gently on her upper arm. “Why don’t we pick up the stuff for Joshua first, just in case the stores close, then we can swing by there next?” he suggested.

She nodded, shaking her head a bit. "If Joshua didn’t get some sweets, I swear, he’d have a heart attack and die." She rolled her eyes a little. "He's addicted I swear. I have to find something new and secretly low sugar." She grinned up at him, nibbling on her slightly chapped bottom lip. "Maybe some type of licorice." She furrowed her eyebrows.

“I think they had some low-sugar gummy bears. Does he like those?” the archer asked, as he gently steered them in the direction of the nearest candy shop.

"It has to be more colorful, and less blatently low sugar." She said determinedly, perking up at the sight of the candy shoppe. She was just as addicted as her brother, though she would adamantly deny it. She slipped out of his arm as they stepped into the multi colored store, and paused, having to control herself before she headed to the low sugar section, looking through them with the tip of her thumb in her mouth. "Mhnnn..."

Doumeki resisted the urge to chuckle as he watched her attention focus in on the candy store, and he followed her inside, over to the low-sugar section. He peered at the various candy, finally opening the box to one of the sugar-less Jordan almonds, and pulling one out with the tongs. “You’ll have to test it to make sure it tastes good.” he stated, offering the almond.

She looked over at the owner and just smiled wider at him, taking it from the tongs and popping it in her mouth, chewing slowly as if critiquing every slight taste. "Mhnn...Its really good actually."

“Not a bad start.” The archer turned to peer at the shelves, looking for the next item to try. “Maybe these next.” He opened the container to the jellybeans, managing to get two of them onto the scoop, and offered those to her to be judged next.

"You are trying to make me explode." She huffed, picking them up and popping one in her mouth, offering the other up to him with a little smile, her cheeks turning pink. She didnt say anything, just chewed slowly, and arched an eyebrow at him.

The corner of Doumeki’s mouth curled in amusement. “From two jellybeans and a Jordan almond?” he asked, quirking a brow. “So? How is it?

She swallowed. "Good." She waved the other one at him again. "You taste.” She urged, "They don’t have any aftertaste or anything at all."

The archer merely shrugged. “Alright.”—before opening his mouth and bending down slightly, obviously expecting her to pop the jelly bean in there.

She just snorted, and placed it in his mouth, her fingers brushing over his lips as she let it go, and then dropped her hand to her side, going back to inspecting the candy to hide the red in her cheeks. "What about these things..." She murmured to herself, watching her boyfriend out of the corner of her eye.

Doumeki managed to keep the smile off his face, merely chewing obediently, before going to peer over her shoulder at the items she pointed out next. “Sugar-free assorted licorice.” he read.

"They're colorful, and pretty." She hmnned, and stole a peice, nodding in approval, and picked up a container, starting to fill it with the colored candies. "And then something with chocolate, and we'll be good!" She said cheerfully, This should hold him over for a...day or so.

“Chocolate...” The archer straightened, looking at a couple of the uppermost containers. “Does he like nuts?”

"Yeah." She crained up on her tip toes, trying to look in them as well, making an unhappy sound in the back of her throat that roughly translated to 'why are you so tall and I'm so short?!'

Doumeki recognized the sound easily—it was one he had gotten used to and learned to translate rather easily. He chuckled slightly. “Want me to read off the descriptions?” he asked, an amused smirk just barely curling the corner of his mouth, one dark eyebrow raised.

"Only the ones that sounds good." She said determinedly, still trying to crain to read them, and glanced up at him, the container of candies jiggling in her hands. "And look nice!"

“Look nice and sound good.” Way to describe almost the entire selection. But he kept that comment to himself as he picked out one that sounded decent—“Sugar-free butter toffee covered in chocolate and peanuts.” he read, amber eyes peering at the label.

She perked up at the sound of it, and reached up, her fingers barely brushing against his forearms. "Lets try that! It sounds awesome!" She said brightly, looking up at her boyfriend pleadingly. "Joshua'll probably like that too. It just sounds delicious..."

“Looks good.” Doumeki agreed, pulling a small piece out and breaking it in half, offering the larger piece to her.

She took it and nibbled on it, brightening up as she offered the bowl to him to fill the last part, cheerfully chewing in the sweet treat. "Perfect!"

The archer had been chewing on his own piece and nodded in agreement to her assessment, before taking the bow from her and adding several pieces off the toffee, before handing it back. “Anything else?”

She tapped her lips and then smiled up at him play fully, heading over and scooping up a large bag of chocolate coated peppermints, and held it up for examination. "Now we're set!" She said cheerfully, heading towards the counter.

Doumeki blinked as she selected a bag of chocolate coated peppermints—one of his favorites—and headed towards the counter. “O-Oi—“ he reached out a hand to stop her, but stopped himself, and merely shrugged, following her up to the counter. If she wanted to treat him this time, he wouldn’t protest. He was going to be taking her to dinner tonight anyway.

She just stuck her tounge out at him, and paid for the sweets, giving into temptation and purchasing a few delicately wrapped chocolate covered cherries as well. "For a mini pro diebeties picnic." She said easily, smiling up at him as she walked towards the door. "You complaining?"

“Who, me?” He quirked a brow at her, the corner of his mouth turning up slightly in a smirk as he followed her to the door, pushing it open and holding it for her as well. “Never.”

She laughed, and ducked out into the streets, twirling on her heel and smiling back at him. "Maybe I should go alone, with you so unhappy about it." She teased, her eyes glittering playfully.

The smirk widened slightly into something close to a smile. “Go alone? ‘Couldn’t let you do that. You might get lonely.”

"Me?" She grinned wider herself, "I'm not the one who is ad-dic-ted~" She said in a sing song tone, twirling again and swaying her hips femininely as she walked ahead of him, trying not to laugh.

“Addicted? Who are you calling addicted?” Doumeki asked, though there was an amused growl to his tone as he caught up with her quickly, slipping his arms around her waist and tugging her back against him in a hug.

"Ah-eek!" She gasped, only to break down into giggles as he held her, and she placed her hands ontop of his, leaning back against him. "Totally addicted." She murmered, Looking up at him from under long lashes, a playful smile peaking at him from slightly curled lips.

He didn’t deny it, only huffed out a small chuckle. “Brat.” he stated, low, before pressing a kiss to her cheek and straightening again, sliding his hand into hers and lacing their fingers together, beginning to head towards Xanadu.

She laughed, and leaned against his arm, happily tapping her fingers against the back of his hand, secretly ag the feeling of his warm grip, and closed her eyes, letting him lead her along, humming lightly under her breath. She did that often when she was content. And she couldnt get any more content then this. What a nice day.

Doumeki’s thumb rubbed gently on the outside of her hand, relaxed as they walked towards Xanadu. There was something that seemed very...natural about all of this, and the archer was happy to settle into the role, even if he felt as if he was adjusting to something new, somewhere in the back of his mind. Which was rather odd...they had been dating for two months already.

"There!" Rosette pointed out a spot easily, not too far from the lake, and placed the sweets down, sprinting to the edge of the water to see the ducks, talking to them in words that were too distant to be audible.

The archer watched her go for a moment, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth as he watched her go greet the ducks, before he sat down, leaning back against the tree.

The girl spent a few minutes down there, before the animals realised she had no food and paddled on elsewhere. She grinned and started climbing back up the hill, before all but skipping up to him and collapsing across his lap, her kness on either side of his waist as she lay her hands neatly on his shoulders, smiling down at him. "What do you think?"

Doumeki let out a small ‘oof’ as Rosette flopped into his lap, but he automatically rested his hands on her waist anyway. “Pretty.” he stated, though he wasn’t exactly talking about the trees.

"I love the fall." She looked upwards, watching the trees sway in the wind, before looking back down at him and leaned forward, their noses almost touching. "Maybe you should focus on something other then me? mn?" She said teasingly, biting the tip of her tounge as she grinned.

"Mn? Oh. The trees are nice, too.” he admitted, before he raised an eyebrow. “What fun would that be?”

She shrugged a little, rubbing her nose against his as she shook her head, trying not to laugh. "You never know until you try."

He chuckled, slightly, in reply. “Mn. Maybe I’ll ty it one of these days.” He turned his head slightly, moving to rest it comfortably on her shoulder. “But not today.”

She laughed a little, and grabbed the zipper of his jacket, pulling it down until it unlatched, and then turned around carefully so she sat in his lap, and then wormed her arms into his sleeves with his, snuggling into him, within the now shared coat. "This is really nice...."

Doumeki slid his arms out of the coat, wrapping them around her waist and pulling the edges of the coat closer together to keep them warm, his chin resting on the top of her head, blond hair tickling his nose. “...yeah.” he agreed, after a moment, a small, calm smile appearing on his features.

She leaned her cheek against his collar bone, smiling easily as well, as she closed her eyes and just listened to the calming heartbeat, rising chest, and the wind whistling softly through Xandu. "Doumeki." She asked quietly, "what are you doing for Christmas?"

“Fai-san is probably going to want to throw a huge party. And Yuuko-san will get drunk, and Watanuki will have to cook. And perhaps Vash-kun and his friends will want to come, too, and maybe Autor-san and them...Do you and Joshua-kun want to come as well?” The archer raised an eyebrow. “Why do you ask?”

She shrugged a little. "I thought we might do something together is all." She said lightly, wrinkling her nose at him. "I'm saving up for your present." She said playfully. "But a big party sounds good too. I'm sure it'll be alot of fun, Joshua would love it."

“I’m sure we could sneak out at some point.” Doumeki stated, with a chuckle. “With so many people there, it shouldn’t be too hard.”

She nodded, snuggling into his arms a little more to get comfortable, and looked up at him. "You better avoid the mistletoe." She teased, lightly running her fingers up and down one of the arms that held her, liking the contrast between their skins, and the feeling of the contact. "Yuuko might try and get in your mouth."

The archer let out a small mixture between a snort and a laugh, and another small grin curled the corners of his mouth. “That I sincerely doubt.” he stated, amused at the prospect. “But I’ll be sure to steer clear. For the most part.”

She gasped a little in mock horror. "The most part? Dont tell me that you have a crush on her Doumeki!" She huffed, crossing her arms huffily across her chest.

“I meant of the mistletoe.” Doumeki stated, amused. “The only reason I wouldn’t steer clear was if you were under it.”

She stuck her tounge out at him, and tried her best to still seem annoyed. "Uh huh, we havent even really KISSED KISSED yet, and you say that?" She sighed a little dramaticly. "And its been over two months..."

“‘Kissed kissed’?” the archer asked, raising an eyebrow. “I have no idea what you mean by that.” The beginnings of a smirk were there, just slightly. “But if it bothers you that much, you could show me.”

Needless to say, she was suprised by that, to the point of turning absolutely scarlet, and she squirmed, trying to regain her composure. "Of course I could! But I dont think I will!" She said quickly, not able to get up enough nerve to do so.

The smirk widened, just slightly, and Doumeki huffed out a small sigh. “Should’a known.”

She pouted, looking up at him. "Should have known what?"

“You don’t know what a ‘kiss kiss’ is either.” he stated, tilting his head slightly to raise on dark eyebrow at her. For those that didn’t know him, it seemed like a mean thing to say, but for friends, it would’ve been easy to tell he was teasing.

And the girl, even as cursed as she was, was always up for a challange. "I do too!" She huffed, scooting a little in his lap so she sat sideways, and slipped her arms free of the warm sleeves of his jacket. She pouted up at him for a few moments, before leaning upwards, hesitating for a moment, before pressing her parted lips carefully against his, closing her eyes as she twined her arms about his neck.

The archer rested a hand on Rosette’s lower back, slowly, almost cautiously, moving to kiss her back as she kissed him. It was...nice—and yet, he was awkwardly worried about screwing up. This obviously took practice.

It lasted a few moments, before the girl pulled back for a dozen or so shakey breaths, before She leaned up again, a little more confident, but, unlike herself normally, not as dominant, almost as if asking him to take over. Like she knew what the heck she was doing, her closest experience was reading a couple romance novels.

Not like Doumeki knew what he was doing either but…

He lifted his other hand, cupping her cheek gently as he tilted his head so their lips fit together better and---

Ah. So that’s what all those books were talking about with the stupid sparks and inner fireworks.

She didn’t know how much time had gone past between their tender, tangled, eager kisses, but finally she pulled back, light headed from the lack of air, and flushed all sorts of shades before she dropped her eyes to his chest, and just smiled, trying to hold back her giddy giggling. "Oh..."

“Something like that.” Doumeki agreed, fighting to keep the grin off his face. Unfortunately, the grin won over, and he ended up turning his face into her neck, smile pressed against her smooth skin.

She jumped a little as he did, before laughing at the feel of his grin against her neck, and she fought to keep from squirming away, ticklish. "Ah! Doumeki!" She swatted at him, kicking her feet a little as she let go of his neck and pushed at his chest a little.

“Sorry.” the archer apologized, straightening, finally able to finagle the grin down into a small smile.

"Silly." She shook her head, before looking at her watch. "Ah, I should get going." She murmured, sticking out her tongue a little in embarrassment. "Joshua's waiting for me..."

“Probably should get going, then.” Doumeki agreed.

She smiled at him and wriggled out of the rest of his coast, before dusting herself off as she stood. "I'll see you tonight?" She asked warmly, blue eyes watching him with obvious emotion.

He couldn’t help it. Another smiled curled the corners of his mouth as he pushed to his feet as well, zipping up his jacket. “Alright.” he agreed. “I’ll walk you to the Opera House.”

She just grinned, tapping him on the nose. "YOU should finish closing up shop, and put those candies away. I'll see you again soon enough." She said easily, "Afraid to let me go or something?" She teased.

Maybe. Something about this seemed so fleeting—

But Doumeki shook it off. “Fine, fine. Be careful.” He stepped forward, pulling her into his arms and holding her tight for a moment, before he released her again, planting a quick kiss on her lips. “Don’t miss me too much.” he stated.

"I should be saying the same to you." She said lightly, squeezing him back, letting go of him slowly before she released his hand last, fingers falling from each other. She shifted the bag in her hands and waved to him as she walked briskly forward. "See ya tonight!"

The archer lifted a hand in farewell, watching after her until she was out of sight, before he huffed, glancing over to the peppermint candies left on the ground. He stooped down to retrieve them and straightened, opening the bag before reaching a hand in and pulling one out. He peered at it for a moment before popping it in his mouth, the sweet minty taste mixed with chocolate a favorite treat. A small smiled curled the corners of his mouth. He really needed to get back to his shop. He had tonight to look forward to, after all.
