[Ongoing] Log open to Paprika
When; After this conversation, so backdated to last night.
Rating; PG13?
Characters; Paprika [
sugar_and] & Isshin [
daddylove]
Summary; Isshin is feeling lonely without his family around and so Paprika invites him into a dream~
Log;
Isshin wasn't entirely sure he understood Paprika's ability to travel through dreams, but he was sure that he trusted her.
With Yuzu gone and Ichigo busy doing his own thing, the apartment seemed hollow and empty. Was this how Ishida felt all the time? Isshin wanted his family back, and hated that he couldn't do anything about that. Despite what he had said to Brocklehurst, friends didn't replace family entirely, the knowledge that you were connected no matter what.
Letting out a long sigh, Isshin rolled over and closed his eyes, clearing his mind and drifting off to sleep.

Drifting along between the blurred edges of dreams, she kept her eyes peeled for a familiar face, not allowing herself to be drawn into exciting or troubling images of other's--those could wait. Finally catching sight of the colors and sounds of Daddy Isshin, she swooped down in a nurses outfit and melted into the dream.

A little body lay on his operating table and he was as fumble-fingered as an intern. He couldn't remember where to cut, or with what, and the sweat was dripping down his forehead. Everyone was watching him, waiting to see what he would do. She was going to die if he didn't do anything, but if he did something it might just make it worse. A sheet covered the little girl's face. He knew he was dreaming and had this dream before, but he could never remember what to do.
Reaching out a slightly shaking hand without looking up, he barked out: "Scalpel."
[ooc: My internet is being an absolute bitch, this log is going to take forever. DDD:]

"You look nervous, doctor."
[ooc; eeps no worries! i am super slow myself;;]

Maybe just an incision into the stomach cavity, just a small one, and then he'd...
He recognized that voice. Before reaching out with the scalpel, he turned and looked.
"Paprika-chan?"

"So, tell me about this one. First day? Nervous? Fear of failure?"

Disoriented, he struggled to focus on the task at hand. Just a small t-incision in the abdominal cavity, but what was he looking for? What was wrong with her? If he could only look at her face...

"Why don't you take a look?"

She had been hurt - how? What did he have to do to save her? He didn't know whose name he said, but the terror was all the same.

She said it lightly, smiling sweetly, but she reached out and took his hand with a solid, gentle grip. And she pulled it back to touch the face of the girl--the woman--the everyone he knew and was suffering for. It was more than she did, but she smiled anyways.
"You are all she needs."

After the long moment of silence he stirred, and the faceless doctors and nurses around him went into action. He was strong again, he knew what he was doing. His barked orders travelled over the hum and bustle of the surgery room and his hands were steady, eyes focused. It was going to be fine.

And so she would wait for the dream to end before making her move--holding the dreamer in environment, keeping the image strong, so that they could go anywhere they wanted.

Even as he thought that, the dream started to fade.

"Well! You've won a free trip to anywhere~! Shall we take a stroll?"
no subject
"Wherever you'd like to go, Paprika-chan!"
It felt strange, wearing a suit when it wasn't a certain holiday. He only owned the one, but he supposed that this was fine too. Masaki wouldn't begrudge him a little fun!
[ooc: I'm sorry for leaving this for so long! ;_; I needed to give my Isshin muse a break after the zombie thing...]

And in a step they were strolling through a fairy forest, wings on Paprika's back and their steps light over the green moss. She had enjoyed her time as a fairy, despite it all, and had looked forward to going back.
"So tell me~ What's your favorite place?"
[ooc; its totally okay! i understand. my muses are tired too xD]

Isshin had no qualms about skipping along in a fairy forest, and was quite enjoying the break from his usual depressing and sometimes downright frightening dreams.
"Probably my home!"
[ooc: I hope there isn't a favorite canon Isshin happyplace, but this seems pretty IC~]

Taking a turn, Paprika considered where to go next. They could go see Isshin's home, as complete as it was in his memory, or they could go somewhere from Atsuko's memories--and she was surprised at how much longing she felt for the skies of Tokyo and even the blank, childish corridors of Tokita's dreams.
But, she was not meant for selfish pursuits, and pushing back a drapery of moss, they emerged onto the street infront of Isshin's home and hospital.
"Now where could we be~"
