Flonne was out; X had watched her leave a little while ago, from his hiding place. But now that she was gone, he... well, she now, was ready to go visit a different type of demon. Laharl didn't sound much like Neuro had been, but X was more than willing to give him a shot. He was always looking for clues as to who he was inside.

So, in a dress like Flonne's, with Flonne's blonde hair and Flonne's cheerful face, X made her way up the apartment stairs, loaded down with big shopping bags. Things were fairly busy outside, with the fires and so on, but X had been planning this for a while, and now that he was ready, he wasn't about to let anything stop him.

"Laharl~!" she called out brightly, bursting in through the apartment door and struggling a bit to get all the bags in along with her. "I got all the shopping done! Look at all the cute decorations I bought! There's Christmas things out all over already!"

The young Overlord sat on the floor, crossed legged, and pretty much had his eyes glued to the television screen when Flonne burst in through the door. He would have liked to have completely ignored her, but at her sickenly cheerful call of his name, he vaguely turned his head enough to notice all the bags of stuff he was pretty sure already he was going to hate.

She hadn't been gone all THAT long, how the heck had she managed to buy so much stuff? A wave of exasperation fell over him and was more than a little apparent in his voice. "Christmas things?" he repeated. This was exactly why he really would like to sleep the whole month.

"Ugh, great, that's just great, Flonne," he muttered, sarcasm dripping from his voice. Turning back to the television, he set to work on zoning her out completely.

Laharl continued to attempt to ignore Flonne's babbling till he finally heard she had something for him. Oh hell, what could that be? The demon wasn't sure he wanted to know. He didn't do any peeking, he was happy looking away.

Of course, of all the surprises he could have received he hadn't expected a rain of bullets to the back of the head. He let out a cry of surprise and quite a number of ows, till the shooting was done, and he was bent over forwards, a hand on the back of his head. The bullets lay scattered about the floor, having quite literally bounced from the demons head.

There was a moment of silence, before Laharl straightened up rubbing the back of his head and turned around.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, LOVE FREAK?!!?!?!" he bellowed, eyes lighting up gold and his antenna like locks of hair bolting upright.

Why the hell had Flonne been shooting at him?! Flonne wouldn't shoot him! It then hit him suddenly as his attention had finally actually focused on the 'Flonne' before him. This wasn't Flonne. Usually Laharl would have caught on right away as he did have some ability at sensing the presences of others, but he'd been so intent on ignoring her... Damnit, he never would have expected an assassination attempt on him here of all places. "...You're not Flonne..." the Overlord uttered, after staring a moment. "Where the HELL is FLONNE?!"

Laharl took this moment to get to his feet, trying to decide how to react to the failure assassin before him. The demon only narrowed his crimson eyes as he watched as the visage of Flonne melt away to that of a boy. He was a little relieved deep down that Flonne was apparently alright, calming him down a fair ammount. Now he just hoped Flonne would stay out for a little while longer till he dealt with this little problem.

"Hmph, you're a thousand years too early to defeat me," Laharl replied, folding his arms against his chest, glaring up at the adolescent. Apparently this kid was pretty ignorant about demons to think he could defeat a demon Overlord like this.

However Laharl wasn't sure what to think of X's question. "...What the hell do you think is inside me?" he finally said.

What the hell was wrong with this kid? He was no human, that much was certain.

"Well, taking apart a human generally kills them," Laharl said, sounding a little incredulous that the kid hadn't worked that much out. "There's nothing in humans but blood and guts, and hmph, hate to break it to you but most demons are the same, we're just a damn lot stronger than most humans."

There were a few exceptions, like prinnies, which of course only contained humans souls, but he wasn't about to make this more complicated than it needed to be.

"So, you're just wasting your time, and mine," the Overlord added.

"Boy, and I thought normal humans have problems looking beyond what they see," Laharl muttered, eyeing the kid really oddly now.

"You can't SEE personality inside someone, moron," he continued, sounding increasingly exasperated. By now he'd decided this kid was even stupider than he'd first thought. It wasn't often you met an assassin who was almost as bad a one as Flonne, after all. "Nor some of those other things either."
