Log; ongoing
When; Today
Rating; PG-13 for an innocent kiss
Characters; Setsuna Mudou
sin_sacrum and Yuki Sohma
reasontohope
Summary; Setsuna's giving Yuki a blanket and is affected by the curse
Log;
With the blanket in his arms, Setsuna held it closely, wrapped in the jacket Kira bought for him, and headed out into the cold to the carousel where this poor Yuki person was. He couldn't say why he cared so much for someone he barely met, and why he trusted their word indefinitely. Yuki could have been anyone, lying and pretending, but Setsuna didn't believe that or worry over it.
Maybe it was just the curse, in some odd way. Maybe it was just Christmas was so close. Or maybe it was just Setsuna.
When he got there and saw the other boy, he was sure at once he was Yuki and grinned as he held out the warm blanket. "Yuki, right?" he at least asked. It would be silly to give the blanket to the wrong person.

He was sitting on the carousel, back propped up against one of the wooden horses, just watching. It was nearly noon and the square strangely empty. Probably because it was Christmas Eve. He wouldn't expect many passersby today.
Yuki's mind was racing. He'd been here exactly 24 hours, and he hadn't really moved from this spot. It had been nice for him to get in touch with his family members, but he hadn't heard from them ever since, and was reluctant to move from this place. After all, the City was so large, he'd probably get lost even with the map that Hattori had given him.
Leaning back, he closed his eyes slightly, just letting his thoughts free-flow in his mind. Memories, plans, encounters with the people of this city. He was jerked out of his reverie by the sound of a voice. By the sound of it, a boy's voice.
Opening his eyes, Yuki give a slight smile. So, this was Setsuna, then? Well, he was holding a blanket, so Yuki was going to assume that. His smile was bright and friendly, but most of all, genuine. Quite a treat for Yuki, who was so used to the simpering, false smiles of everyone (especially the girls) who went to his school.
"Yes, I'm Yuki. I'm assuming you're Setsuna?" Taking the blanket, he laid it in his lap, looking down at it for a moment. "..Thank you. It's really rare that someone will be so kind to a stranger, really."
The gesture was undoubtedly touching, and Yuki felt his smile growing in spite of himself.

"You're right," he assured Yuki; however, Setsuna found himself shaking his head at the rare comment. "That's sad. I mean, sure, there are things I wouldn't do for a stranger, but surely sparing a blanket on Christmas is no big deal. It's the least I could do. Especially since most people I've met here have been kind and helpful."
Yuki's smile was warm. To Setsuna it seemed one of those smiles maybe not accustomed to being used, but it was touching and glowing in its own way. He beamed right back.
"If you had been rude to me, I would have told you to freeze your ass off and see if I care. But you've done nothing to warrant anything from me but concern and help," Setsuna explained, hoping that would suffice. They could always blame "Christmas Spirit" if it came to that.

"Might as well be warm together, right?" with another slight smile, he glanced back at Setsuna, noticing that he was blonde. Strange for someone of Japanese descent, but really, nothing to make a fuss about. Setsuna had been teased because of it, and Yuki thought for the first time in his life that perhaps his childhood had been somewhat lucky.
Yeah, right. Lucky, if you count being stuck with him, lucky.
A frown crossed his face at the thought of it, but he quickly shook all the negative thoughts away. Best not to show them, right? No one ever has to know. Instead, his facial expression quickly reverted back to his slight, almost shy looking smile.
A flash of green above him caught his eye. What was that? Looking up, Yuki caught sight of a green plant above both their heads. It had been affixed to the carousel's roof, which had been rotating all along, which was probably why he hadn't seen it yet.
Wait. That couldn't be...misletoe, could it? He'd seen some people's journal posts, talking about kissing...
Yuki's face instantly flushed. No, it must be a mistake. Probably a leaf or a branch that got stuck to the roof of the carousel, somehow. But just to make sure..
"Hey, Setsuna? What is...that?"
With a slim finger, he pointed to the top of the carousel, with the red berries on green leaves giving him an ominous feeling.

Setsuna almost notices the frown, but as it was fleetingly short, he wonders if he only imagined it. There are so many other things to think on right now, and Setsuna is hardly bothered by the teasing and beatings of the past, thinking only of these current moments. It's the best way for him to live.
He noticed Yuki look up, and follows, tilting his head, only to smile once more.
"That," Setsuna said, voice getting a bit low and soft as he leans in, "is mistletoe." And his words are followed by an attempted kiss, his lips seeking Yuki's, despite the fact Setsuna sees nothing wrong with all of this close contact. Somehow, to him, it's sweet.

Following Setsuna's gaze, he noticed that his voice changed it pitch, and it rather disconcerted him. What was happening? Mistletoe? That couldn't possibly mean...?
"Mistletoe..it's not a umph-!" he was cut off by Setsuna leaning in closer, attempting to kiss him. He was really close, now. Yuki could feel his breath on his skin, and count almost every eyelash of his.
Despite the fact that he was very flustered, for some reason, Yuki let him. He let Setsuna kiss him, and honestly, he kissed back. It was strange, because his mind was screaming that this was insane, and that he'd barely met the boy. Plus, he was a boy. Plus, he loved Machi, right?
But his body moved on his own accord, and Yuki found himself shifting even closer towards Setsuna, flushed deeply from head to toe.

"Heh. First time anyone's said that to me. Though I've found myself reminded of myself with other people." Not that it happened often. Setsuna found himself a bit amused at the thought, and noticed Yuki's laugh, gladly giving his own.
Setsuna was blushing a bit himself, but he thought very little about these cursed kisses, as shown by how he easily held Yuki back, warmly. And...he had a girlfriend of his own, and would never forsake her. It was something about this curse....
Once the kiss was finished, Setsuna draw back, slowly and carefully. He gave Yuki another hug after, one-armed and friendly.
"Heh. Sorry about that. It's the curse." But he sounded oh-so-cheerful when he spoke of it.
