OPEN LOG; Ongoing, Party get!
When; TODAY, CHRISTMAS
Rating; PG-13, if only for language.
Characters; Flonne [
nin_nin_nin], Laharl [
meteor_impact], Envy [
theenviousone], and like I said, it's a total open log so EVERYONE CAN COMMENT, THREAD, etc. S-She's prepared for guests so feel free to crash as you'd like.
Summary; Flonne wants a Christmas party with her friends! ♥ But when her not-so-bff Envy is involved, will it all go just as planned or not as planned?
Log; Flonne was so excited just for today! Ever since she had learned of the holiday, she'd been rushing around in excitement to prepare that one special holiday of the year. Christmas! ...Well, sure, she didn't really know what it all meant. She did know of the fat man in red who rode around delivering presents while driving a flying sleigh lead by reindeer. Apparently he squeezed himself into chimenys too!
Even if it didn't make sense, Flonne came from the Netherworld, where making sense was optional and not a requirement for day-to-day life. She had just finished setting out the fried shrimp--which was catered instead of made, thanks to the last incident with her preparing the meal. She thought Laharl might be playing video games in the other room, hoping maybe he'd stop for a while to talk to people. It was idealistic, but perhaps a bit much to hope for.
"Laharl!" She shouted cheerily from the other room. "They're gonna be here any minute, so make sure you're ready!" She clapped her hands, waiting for a guest or two to arrive.

He groaned at Flonne's shout. Her stupid party was about to start? Great... "...Yeah, I'm ready!" Laharl replied her call with one of his own after a pause. She didn't have to know being ready had entailed no effort on his part.
Well, maybe if he was really lucky, no one would show up. Then again, how often was he that lucky? He sighed to himself as he continued to pound on the buttons of the controller. Laharl had a feeling this was going to be a looong night.

She brought in a plate of teeth-rotting sugar cookies and set it on the coffee table. She'd be surprised if Laharl brushed his teeth all that often anyway, so sugar wouldn't be a problem.
"Just...be kind of polite, okay?" She asked hopefully, hoping he wouldn't chase anyone out.

...unless the dinner involved him feeding corpses to Gluttony, that was.
But knowing Flonne, it was going to be a much 'nicer' sort of party. Decorations everywhere, Christmas cheer. He really didn't know how Laharl put up with her. Well, if anything, he'd have someone he could grumble to who'd know what he was talking about and who wouldn't accuse him of actually being nice but not showing it.
Stopping for a moment in front of the door, he thought about just leaving again. It's not like Flonne was capable of ever being mad at someone - even though he'd be really amused if him not showing up pushed her into it.

"Ah--! Envy~!" She exclaimed brightly, ushering him inside. "Come in, come in! Thank you so much for arriving!" She wanted to do her best to try to bring out the best in him. I mean, come on! It was christmas, and there's totally no better day to do it.
Except for some day he was actually in a good mood, but that was just one factor.

He allowed her to usher him inside, not bothering with returning her greeting. He was too busy cringing at the enthusiastic display of Christmas decorations all over the place.
Even if he hadn't already known, he'd have been able to tell Flonne lived here just from how the whole apartment screamed "BE HAPPY" at him.

The little train of thought went to Envy's family in general. She couldn't fathom having a family made up entirely of sins! Virtues, maybe. She'd only met three so far. And yes, Greed was greedy, Wrath was...from her expirience, very angry, and Envy...well, she hadn't seen him jealous of anything yet, but having green hair might count for that. So would Pride be vain, would Gluttony eat everything, and would Lust--well, no. Let's not think about that one.
She realized she'd been standing there with a blank expression on her face moments afterward. "Ah...! Sorry, I was...thinking. About stuff." She plastered another grin on her face.

He noticed Flonne spacing out for a couple of minutes...Flonne thinking about anything was a scary idea. If it was even possible.
"Of course you were." he answered when she snapped out of it. "Is Laharl here?" Poking fun at Flonne with someone else might brighten his day. Or at least stop her from smiling so damn much all the time.

She took a seat on the couch next to Laharl. "Have you ever played video games?"
no subject
"Not really. The City is the first time I've seen them." he said while taking a seat on the opposite side of the couch, curling one leg up under the other. "Arion just gave me one as a present."
no subject
The demon arched a brow, glancing a bare second from the screen, "You hadn't till here? Geez, that sucks..." Video games were high on Laharl's favorite pasttimes, he couldn't imagine not having them. It was probably one of the few things keeping him SANE here, in fact.

Flonne clapped her hands together. "Mind-numbing RPGs and racing games are nearly a national sport in the Netherworld!" She cheered. "Laharl's really good at them, and so is Miss Etna. Would you like to try--?"
no subject
Flonne's enthusiasm at videogames was almost enough to put him off them completely. But Laharl seemed to be enjoying his game enough and maybe if he tried it out Flonne would shut up for a while. Maybe.
"Alright. I'll try it."

Slumping even lower on the couch, he folded his arms to his chest, ready to watch.
no subject
He was sure he'd manage to get it right eventually.
no subject
Laharl, does this one have multiplayer?" She asked hopefully.
no subject
That cleared up, he sat up for a moment to snag a couple cookies from the plate on the coffee table before promptly slumping back once more.

Hopefully not a particularly vengeful mood.
He reached out a hand and banged on the door, gritting his teeth. "Hurry up." Wrath growled. He didn't like to be kept waiting.
no subject
He deliberately avoided looking at Flonne, not caring enough to deal with the expression of disappointment she was sure to be wearing at him speaking that way to his 'little brother'.
He turned back to the video game.
no subject
"You shouldn't have left me," he began to whine, wandering into the apartment and looking around.
"This place is nicer than where we live. Who stays here? You?" He looked to Flonne and Laharl, not recognizing the former from the Network and never having been introduced to the second.
no subject
She gave a happy nod. "Mm-hm! This is where Laharl and I live, Thank you for saying it's nice." She bowed her head, a little proud that her hard work had been noticed. "Feel free to make yourself at home! There's plenty of food and we were just about to play a video game!"
no subject
"What's a video game?" he demanded.
no subject
You couldn't really tell with Wrath.
no subject
Because giving slightly ADD children video games to play is just a grand idea, right?
no subject
Wrath wandered over and plopped down on the couch beside Envy with as much force as he could muster, bouncing once before settling back down.
"Envy, your hair's in the way. I can't see" Wrath moved to reach up and tug at one of Envy's hair strands, annoyed.
no subject
Wondering if it would be enough to shut him up, he handed him the controller. "Here, you try it."
He always had the handheld game Arion had given him if he wanted to play something. Wrath wasn't getting his hands on that.

Well, at least there was food. He began to munch on the cookies he'd snagged, but paused eyeing the one he'd just bitten into critically. It... wasn't bad... and by bad he meant unedible... but... he also was pretty sure this isn't how these cookies were supposed to taste.
"Oi, Flonne," Laharl suddenly pipped up, "...Did you bake these cookies?"
