Summary; Flonne wants a Christmas party with her friends! ♥ But when her not-so-bff Envy is involved, will it all go just as planned or not as planned?
Log; Flonne was so excited just for today! Ever since she had learned of the holiday, she'd been rushing around in excitement to prepare that one special holiday of the year. Christmas! ...Well, sure, she didn't really know what it all meant. She did know of the fat man in red who rode around delivering presents while driving a flying sleigh lead by reindeer. Apparently he squeezed himself into chimenys too!

Even if it didn't make sense, Flonne came from the Netherworld, where making sense was optional and not a requirement for day-to-day life. She had just finished setting out the fried shrimp--which was catered instead of made, thanks to the last incident with her preparing the meal. She thought Laharl might be playing video games in the other room, hoping maybe he'd stop for a while to talk to people. It was idealistic, but perhaps a bit much to hope for.

"Laharl!" She shouted cheerily from the other room. "They're gonna be here any minute, so make sure you're ready!" She clapped her hands, waiting for a guest or two to arrive.

Flonne had guessed right, Laharl was indeed in the other room sitting cross-legged in front of the television with a controller in his hands. Although, in hindsight, he realized he probably should have found an excuse for a nap earlier. He could have been dead asleep right now if he'd planned accordingly. Oh well, too late now.

He groaned at Flonne's shout. Her stupid party was about to start? Great... "...Yeah, I'm ready!" Laharl replied her call with one of his own after a pause. She didn't have to know being ready had entailed no effort on his part.

Well, maybe if he was really lucky, no one would show up. Then again, how often was he that lucky? He sighed to himself as he continued to pound on the buttons of the controller. Laharl had a feeling this was going to be a looong night.

Laharl glanced away from his game long enough to note the cookies on the table, and roll his eyes at Flonne, before returning to the screen. He didn't agree nor disagree with her request. He simply made a unintelligible mumble. He wasn't about to make any promises.

Envy arrived at Flonne and Laharl's apartment, still wondering what the hell he was doing bothering with something like a Christmas dinner. The idea was ridiculous, he just didn't go for things like that.

...unless the dinner involved him feeding corpses to Gluttony, that was.

But knowing Flonne, it was going to be a much 'nicer' sort of party. Decorations everywhere, Christmas cheer. He really didn't know how Laharl put up with her. Well, if anything, he'd have someone he could grumble to who'd know what he was talking about and who wouldn't accuse him of actually being nice but not showing it.

Stopping for a moment in front of the door, he thought about just leaving again. It's not like Flonne was capable of ever being mad at someone - even though he'd be really amused if him not showing up pushed her into it.

[identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com 2007-12-25 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
...so much for leaving again unnoticed. And he really wondered what was done to people in the Netherworld for them to turn out like Flonne. People just shouldn't be so cheerful.

He allowed her to usher him inside, not bothering with returning her greeting. He was too busy cringing at the enthusiastic display of Christmas decorations all over the place.

Even if he hadn't already known, he'd have been able to tell Flonne lived here just from how the whole apartment screamed "BE HAPPY" at him.

"More like siblings than actual brothers." he commented before answering her question properly. "No idea, told him where I'd be so he might turn up at some point." He was tired of looking after the brat and if he went off and caused damage somewhere it wasn't Envy's fault that he wouldn't stay put.

He noticed Flonne spacing out for a couple of minutes...Flonne thinking about anything was a scary idea. If it was even possible.

"Of course you were." he answered when she snapped out of it. "Is Laharl here?" Poking fun at Flonne with someone else might brighten his day. Or at least stop her from smiling so damn much all the time.

[identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Envy wanted to bang his head against the wall at anyone hoping to spend time with Wrath. "Do you really hate your apartment enough to want him in it?" he asked her. He nodded vaguely in Laharl's direction. Saying hello was obviously too much effort for him to make. Besides, the demon seemed too engrossed in his game to notice.

"Not really. The City is the first time I've seen them." he said while taking a seat on the opposite side of the couch, curling one leg up under the other. "Arion just gave me one as a present."

[identity profile] meteor-impact.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Laharl had actually noticed Flonne had let someone in and he vaguely also noted when Flonne sat down next to him. While the demon was very engrossed in his game, tapping busily on the controller's buttons, he was, in fact, half listening, especially when video games came up.

The demon arched a brow, glancing a bare second from the screen, "You hadn't till here? Geez, that sucks..." Video games were high on Laharl's favorite pasttimes, he couldn't imagine not having them. It was probably one of the few things keeping him SANE here, in fact.

"Nah, we don't." He wasn't really bothered about it. Techonology which didn't involve alchemy didn't interest him too much beyond stuff he needed to use, like the network. He figured he wasn't going to have it if he ever went home again anyway.

Flonne's enthusiasm at videogames was almost enough to put him off them completely. But Laharl seemed to be enjoying his game enough and maybe if he tried it out Flonne would shut up for a while. Maybe.

"Alright. I'll try it."

[identity profile] meteor-impact.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Oh good, now Flonne had set it up so he was going to lose his one distraction from all this. Well, it was pretty sad though this guy hadn't ever played a video game. So after a moment Laharl, somewhat relucantly, handed over his controller.

Slumping even lower on the couch, he folded his arms to his chest, ready to watch.

[identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Envy stared at the controller in his hands, not quite sure how to get it to work. Well, when in doubt, press everything.

He was sure he'd manage to get it right eventually.

[identity profile] meteor-impact.livejournal.com 2007-12-27 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"How many RPG's do you know that have multiplayer?" Laharl muttered, looking slightly exasperated. The answer was 'not many' of course, but chances of Flonne knowing that were probably pretty slim he figured so he answered for her. "Next to none, so... no, no it doesn't."

That cleared up, he sat up for a moment to snag a couple cookies from the plate on the coffee table before promptly slumping back once more.

[identity profile] thewrathfulone.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Standing outside Flonne's closed front door was Wrath, debating whether or not he really wanted to go in. As he rocked on his bare heels, he considered whether being alone was worse than being with Envy. He was bored, but he couldn't be sure of what kind of mood the other homunculus was going to be in.

Hopefully not a particularly vengeful mood.

He reached out a hand and banged on the door, gritting his teeth. "Hurry up." Wrath growled. He didn't like to be kept waiting.

[identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Hearing the noise outside and assuming it was Wrath who'd finally made up his mind about whether to come over or not, Envy yelled out "Just come in already and stop making such a racket."

He deliberately avoided looking at Flonne, not caring enough to deal with the expression of disappointment she was sure to be wearing at him speaking that way to his 'little brother'.

He turned back to the video game.

[identity profile] thewrathfulone.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Hearing Envy's sharp voice inside, Wrath scowled and kicked open the door, wandering in.

"You shouldn't have left me," he began to whine, wandering into the apartment and looking around.

"This place is nicer than where we live. Who stays here? You?" He looked to Flonne and Laharl, not recognizing the former from the Network and never having been introduced to the second.

[identity profile] thewrathfulone.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Wrath began to rock from side to side, seemingly unable to stand still for very long. He looked to Flonne, then to Envy on the couch.

"What's a video game?" he demanded.

[identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"This." Envy told him, waving the controller before returning his attention to the game. He wanted to get the hang of how to make it work before the brat made too much of a fuss about getting his own turn. If he was even interested, that was.

You couldn't really tell with Wrath.

[identity profile] thewrathfulone.livejournal.com 2007-12-27 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
He frowned in confusion, clearly not grasping the idea just yet. "All...right" He muttered slowly. If Envy was playing it, it had to be all right...right?

Wrath wandered over and plopped down on the couch beside Envy with as much force as he could muster, bouncing once before settling back down.

"Envy, your hair's in the way. I can't see" Wrath moved to reach up and tug at one of Envy's hair strands, annoyed.

[identity profile] theenviousone.livejournal.com 2007-12-27 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
He was irritated at Wrath making a nuisance of himself and showed it. "If you can't see, then move." he shrugged him off.

Wondering if it would be enough to shut him up, he handed him the controller. "Here, you try it."

He always had the handheld game Arion had given him if he wanted to play something. Wrath wasn't getting his hands on that.

[identity profile] meteor-impact.livejournal.com 2007-12-27 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
On the far other end of the couch, Laharl just kept quiet. He was very quickly getting a 'brat' vibe from the newcomer, and thus was doing his best to ignore him. The Overlord was even more so starting to think he should have found a way out of this.

Well, at least there was food. He began to munch on the cookies he'd snagged, but paused eyeing the one he'd just bitten into critically. It... wasn't bad... and by bad he meant unedible... but... he also was pretty sure this isn't how these cookies were supposed to taste.

"Oi, Flonne," Laharl suddenly pipped up, "...Did you bake these cookies?"
