[At being addressed, and she had to ascertain she indeed WAS being addressed, Nemu paused, turning to the doctor and bowing neatly, dark hair moving with her shoulders and neck]

"I am afraid I do not understand why you would think that, sir."

[One thing she'd never been good at was... "socializing".]

Maybe she wouldn't understand. Maybe she was Amish back home. House hooked his cane over an arm, brow furrowed even as that modest neckline deprived him of any sort of added enjoyment from her formal greeting.

"You know, it's possibly to be attractive and functional at the same time. There are fantastic texts on the subject."

[It could never be said that Nemu was not intelligent. No, she was quite able to piece things together, from what she knew of human social interaction. This man was displeased with the lack of "sex appeal" in her choice of dress. Strange.]

"My normal uniform consists of a skirt. But that is impractical in this weather, despite the temperature while inside. I found this outfit to be modest enought to not be distasteful for such an august occasion, form fitting enough to serve as somewhat attractive, yet able to facilitate movement, should it come to that."

[Her voice, as usual, was quiet and soft, as if she were merely suggesting something for approval]
