Far be it for Charming to pass up an opportunity to meet such a beauty face to face. He spotted her from across the hall and cut his own smooth and ever so polite swath through the crowd to Selene.

"Good evening," he greeted, "I hope you're enjoying it."

"Prince Charming," she said, flashing a smile at the handsome man. "A pleasure to meet you in person. I only just got here but it looks like a wonderful celebration. How is the man of the hour doing?"

"Oh very well, but much more so with your arrival," he remarked while reaching for Selene's hand to grace the back of it with a kiss should she permit him to do so.

"You're either quite the flatterer or very astute, Prince," she said, allowing him to take her hand and kiss it. Now this was a man who knew how to treat a woman.

"Such a gentleman as well, I can see we're going to get along fabulously."

His lips were soft but his kiss firm when pressed against her skin. He released Selene's hand delicately, as only a gentleman should.

"I like to think I give praise where praise is due," Charming nodded, "please, help yourself to the champagne at your leisure. There's music, and if you suddenly fancy the feeling, a floor for dance."

"Will you be busy all night?" she asked, arching a fine eyebrow as she asked the question. "Or will you be able to spare at least one dance for me?

"For you, Selene, I would certainly make the time at your preference," he offered a solid nod.

Those words were music to her ears. It was always nice when those in power knew how to behave. Had she been in the City just a short time earlier, there would have been no reason for Prince Charming to be co-Anything.

"I hope you can Prince," she said, her voice warm and pleasant. "It would be remiss of me not to extend the same courtesy to you as well."
