She would never admit it, but she was actually happy to him. It had been nearly a year since she was brought to the City. The last person she wanted to see from her world was Dorian Gray, but at least this time around the City had been merciful and sent an ally instead of an enemy.

Mina made her way down to the fountain. Outwardly she gave nothing away, but inwardly she probably could have hugged Skinner. Well if she trusted him not to take liberties, which she did not. Nevertheless, the black hat and the leather duster was a welcomed sight.


"Skinner." She called out to get his attention.

Mina nodded. "It would likely be best, but I know from experience complete avoidance is pretty much impossible in this City. Especially if curses are involved."

"Curses on curses, I say," Skinnner said, smirking to himself.

"I cannot argue with you there. That is a valid point."

Skinner sighed a bit. "Well, I thank you for coming to help me get settled. But I've got a feeling that the best way to adjust is just by... living here."

"Indeed. There's no need to thank me. We are comrades after all," Mina replied with a smile.

"Need, maybe not," Skinner said, standing up. "But I still should say it. I'll let you know if I actually get settled in someplace."

"Very well. If you have any more questions or need to get a hold of me quickly. I can be reached over the network," Mina said, also standing up.

"That network thing, rather handy," Skinner said. "And next time, I'll buy the drinks."

"Yes, it is. The modern advances around here are quite astounding, but I shall leave you to discover that on your own," she said with a small smile. "That sounds like a plan."

"Until then," Skinner said, putting his hat back on just in time to tip it at Mina. He headed off on his merry way.
