LOG; Ongoing
When; Tuesday, April 22nd (9:00 - 10:00ish)
Rating; R
Characters; Gabriel van Helsing (
compactcrucifix) and Vladislaus Dracula (
rekindled_heart)
Summary; Gabe isn't happy about the buzz on the Network re: religious-related murders. He heads off to the Cathedral to see if he can't lure out a certain Angel of Death, but one Count Dracula is more than willing to save him... from himself.
Log;
Night was falling as the leather-clad hunter strode towards the cathedral, whose walls looked more threatening than usual in the darkness. They seemed almost like a cresting wave, or a great mountain reading to come crashing down.
Organised religion.
It was the organised part he had trouble with, usually. And now, worse, someone was waving around holy scripture as an excuse to kill innocent people...
Well, Gabe only hoped the monster could take as well as he gave.

Particularly when it came to one particular fallen angel. He was much more trouble than he was worth..of course, if this was true, he wouldn't be -out- here, now would he.
Vladislaus laid on his back, gazing up at the sky through a mess of leaves. He wondered briefly if it was possible to just allow Gabriel to waltz by, and to stop caring what his precious Angel did...
Oh, yes. The thought was very brief.
He turned his head to see the hunter march by, the Cathedral in his path.
Troublesome Van Helsing.

He stopped, looking up at the building, and felt a chill in his spine that he hadn't acknowledged up until now... An angel.
Why did it have to be an angel?
"If this is a sign I'm doing the wrong thing," he murmured, just under his breath, "Then let me lose."

What was Van Helsing planning to -do-, exactly. He may be terribly resilient, but this Angel would surely win, in any circumstance.
Gabriel was but a man.
Vladislaus stopped a number of yards away from the Cathedral. He often made it a point to keep from the large, beautiful structure...if he was ignorant of his physical state, he would feel it in his bones. He was an unwanted creature in that world.

Well then.
The hunter marched on forward, intently, never once aware of the presence behind him. He moved to the entrance, one hand on the hilt of his sword.

No tact.
"Just what kind of plan do you have for this attack, Gabriel. Run inside, blades gleaming, hoping not to be struck down by the first blow of the fiery sword."
He tilted his head lightly.
"Or was it to burst in, shoot, and run."
no subject
He turned to regard the vampire over his shoulder, calmly.
"I figured I'd go in...and kill it." He shrugged, "That usually works."
And then a thought occurred.
"Why are you here?"
no subject
He turned to pace a bit, sighing. Frustration was an understatement with Van Helsing. Thinking wasn't one of his strong suits.
"Guess for me."

A good deal of his worry, however, vanished once he reached the Cathedral (after considerably more running than he was accustomed to). The hunter was chatting with Dracula. Casually. Almost as if he hadn't just worried Carl out of his mind.
At least he seemed uninjured.
Panting, Carl stumbled closer. "Van Helsing! You had better have a damn good explanation for--all of this...!"
no subject
He paused, watching the pacing. Hoped. "You're here to help."
And there, of course, was Carl.
If Gabriel van Helsing thought in proper sentences, he might have thought something somewhat like the following;
Carl is here. I could have sworn I left him a note. ...I could have sworn I left him sleeping, actually. However did he find me? Oh, he sounds very angry.
Outwardly, of course, he did not.
"Carl. Good to see you. Deep breath."
