Summary; Time for a family gathering, Krypton-style!
Log;

An actual cousin. It didn't matter how many times he thought on it, there was no way he could get his head round the whole idea. Someone else had survived Krypton's explosion. Someone else who also happened to be related to him, and had found their way to Smallville. His entire connection to his birthplace had come in the form of an artificial intelligence, a few 'enemies', and leftover memories. The City had given him a welcome change to all that, allowing him the opportunity to learn more about a place he'd never see.

But now, everything had changed yet again, with one new arrival.

He'd been avoiding her, and he knew it. He was also fairly sure the others knew it too. What did you say to someone who seemed to know all about you when you had no idea they even existed? Someone who'd actually met you before. Like the hero that he was, Clark had backed out of finding an answer to the problem. Instead, he and Shelby had spent most of the day off around the City, using anything he could find as a distraction. It was a plan that only worked for so long however. Even if he hadn't been tired, there was only so much walking the pair could do before they had to return home.

The barn then. He was in the middle of his sixth reorganisation of its contents by the time his network device went off. So it seemed like it was finally time to bite the bullet.

"Of course I trust you, Clark." Kara said, taking another step forward and lightly placing a hand on his arm. "You're my family and I would never do anything to hurt you or place you in danger."

While technically that was probably not entirely true Kara felt that it was close enough to the truth to be accurate. She had been sent to Earth to watch over Kal-El and that didn't change just because he wasn't a little boy anymore.

"That doesn't mean that I'm always going to do what you say," she added with a mischievous grin. "Because I will do things my own way. But if what you

Kara pressed her lips together in thought as she mulled over Clark's question. She was worried that if she told him about their family troubles then... he might not trust her. But he knew in the future and trusted her, so this Clark would too, wouldn't he?

"Your father didn't know that I was sent after you. My father, Zor-El, was an enemy of Jor-El. Zor-El, he... he liked your mother. I think he hated your father because of that..."

She hung her head, going silent for a moment. While she had come to grips with the fact that her father was not the good man she thought he was, it was still a difficult reality to face. Also, the idea that her father wanted to hurt Clark upset her. Taking a deep breath, she looked up at him again.

"I was told I was being sent to watch over you, but that wasn't true," she said. "He sent a crystal that would recreate a version of himself and your mother on Earth... he wanted to take it over..."

"I'm glad you feel that way, Clark," she said, smiling brightly as she wrapped her arms around him in a hug. She was glad that Clark was here, he was good at making these confusing human situations... less confusing.

Pulling back she sighed when she thought of the situation with Zor-El and Lara. It was still a sore spot with her, the fact that her father wanted to hurt her aunt and cousin.

"Zor-El... you had to destroy the crystal to stop him and it got rid of both him and your mother. I'm so sorry Clark..."
