Log;

Joshua: It wasn't fair. Joshua was so much faster than her... It would probably be awhile before she showed up. He should have just asked to pick her up where she was at, but it was too late now. So he tried to make the most of his time, crouching down and trying to find the prettiest sunflowers to pick. Once he had a bouquet on hand, he flopped down to sit on the ground, anally plucking off any unsightly insects.

He really didn't want any bugs on his sister. She could get sick! She was still alive after all... Right? If she wasn't, someone was going to pay.

Rosette: She could see him from the distance, his dark jacket standing out against his bright hair and the flowers about him. She was feeling a bit sick to her stomach, a mix of anxiousness and excitement. He had both his eyes, he didn't think she was dating anyone, it was a clean slate- And yet. She pressed her hands down her skirt, before pursing her lips tightly and moving forward.

"Joshua!" She shouted, breaking into a small jog, a smile moving over her features. Right now, keeping the opera house safe was the important thing.

Joshua: Only a second passed after her heard her voice before she was in his arms, his speed leaving a flurry of petals in it's wake. Arms wrapped snuggly around her waist, Joshua pulled her up against him and swung her around with a laugh. "I knew it was you! When I last saw you, you were falling, and I was going to catch you! But then I came here. I was so worried. You didn't die, right?"

And Joshua was pulling her up even further to rest his ear against her chest, breaking into another grin. "No! You have a heartbeat! And you're warm. Good."

Rosette: She gasped as he closed the distance in less then a thought, and his cool, steady arms swung around her and lifted her up. "WOAH!" she grabbed onto his shoulders, smiling down at him with a small laugh as he buried his ear into her chest, listening to the steady beating of her heart. Falling? From where? Ah, he must come from a future time then her. It was so weird, the way the city worked- But he was cold, his breath cold, his hug holding no warmth. He was still dead. She had known, but the confirmation was no less hard.

"I'm fine Joshua." She sighed, running her fingers through his hair comfortingly, her voice turning teasing. "though you almost gave me whiplash!"

Joshua: Whiplash? He actually looked incredibly guilty at that thought, gently setting her down. "I'm sorry...! I'll be more careful. Are you okay?" Her face was as beautiful as ever, but he still needed to run his fingers along her cheek as if making sure she was really there. "They didn't hurt you, right? I sure talked to some rude people."

Determined to check for injuries, he began smoothing his hands along her arms and sides, checking for bruises or broken bones, carefully watching her face if he hit a bruise. "Do you want me to kill them? I could take care of it before dinnertime."

Rosette: She had almost forgotten how careful he was around her, and she carefully took his hands in hers, stopping his search firmly, her lips pressed in a steady line. "No. No killing people. That would make me very unhappy."

She squeezed his hands, gently releasing them. As long as she was careful, she could try and keep him calm and out of trouble. "I've been perfectly OK, so there's no reason to hurt anyone anyway." She reached up, sighing a little as she touched his cheek next to his eye. She was so happy to see that curious blue peering down at her.

Joshua: He paused at the touch to his cheek. What was she looking at? She must have missed him as much as he had her. With a gentle smile, Joshua reached up to place his hand over hers, nuzzling her palm affectionately. She really was so warm. He was a little jealous... But so long as he had her around to keep him warm, it didn't matter how cold he was.

"Why would that make you unhappy? You shouldn't care about them... They don't actually matter. Besides, they're 'noise' drives me up the wall sometimes."

Rosette: "Because." She started, trying to think up a decent answer to that question, and decided just to pull the big sister routine. "Because I say so." She tapped his nose with one finger, before she snagged his hand, tugging him to follow her. "Come on, lets go for a walk." She offered him a easy smile.

Joshua: He would have argued, but the tap to his nose was enough to distract him. Reaching up, he rubbed curiously at his nose before leaning down to pick up one of the many sunflowers that he'd dumped on the ground in his rush to pick up Rosette. Flicking off some dirt, he darted over to walk beside her and held the flower out in front of her.

"Here! For you. Girls are always prettier when holding flowers. I read that in a magazine."

Rosette: She laughed a little, honestly, and took the flower, spinning it between her fingers. "Since when did you read magazines instead of your dime store novels?" She asked, spinning the flower as she walked. "This is beautiful by the way, I'll have to plant the seeds later. Thank you."

Joshua: Joshua watched her every step of the way, not really needing to watch where he was going. He'd sense it if he was about to run into a tree or trip over a flower patch. "Magazines are easier... It's harder to concentrate on novels like I used to. I usually can only manage a chapter at a time."

But he was pleased she remembered how much he read. "I'd listen for hours if you read me a story! Can you read me a story tonight? I'll listen to anything you want."

Rosette: "I'll read you something before you go to bed." She said softly, hesitating as she watched him, "But I cant stay at the Cathedral." She winced a little, waiting for his reaction. If this went over well, everything else should be easy. "But as soon as you wake up we can go out and do something! There's a really nice beach out on the left side of the city!"

Joshua: Joshua immediately stopped walking, reaching out to snag her wrist. His grip was firm, but gentle. She was so delicate after all, just like that flower she was holding. Instead of looking angry, though, he just seemed confused, looking at her as if maybe she had just turned green.

"Why can't you stay with me at the Cathedral? I'll go wherever you go. Where do you want to stay? I thought you'd like the Cathedral... You worked for the Magdalene Order, right?"

Rosette: Dammit! She frowned, gripping the flower a little tighter. "Because I don't like Rosiel." She answered honestly, after a moment, furrowing her eyebrows together. "I don't want to stay with him. The Magdalene order was different!" she peered up at him, "Do you like staying there?"

She wondered if it'd be better for him to stay with Rosiel for now until they figured out how to free him from those horns, or if she should stay somewhere else with her brother. Both had their pros and their cons... It depended on what Joshua wanted after all. She had just gotten back comfortable with living at the opera... She really didn't want to move again. And who knew what Chrno'd get into there.

Joshua: Her response made him, of all things, laugh. "Sister, you're so silly!" Leaning over, he smoothly swept her off her feet so that he could cradle her to his chest. Sitting down on the ground so that he could relax back against a tree, he let her settle in his lap before resting his forehead against hers, letting their noses touch.

"I'd follow you anywhere. I can leave the Cathedral. Where do you want to stay? You should get a palace."

Rosette: She gasped as she was taken up off her feet, gripping his shirt to keep from toppling backwards as he sat down. He wouldn't let her go, but still- Her cheeks flushed dark as his nose brushed over hers, closer then comfortable. "U--uh. Maybe-" Her mind spun again, searching for an answer. "Um-" Where could they- darn it-

Joshua: He didn't know why she was acting flustered, but he had seen it in other girls before and it was positively adorable. With another laugh, he sat back to lean fully against the tree. "We could live right here if you want. I'll have someone build you a cottage. You can have your own little garden."

Rosette: "Like snow white and the seven dwarfs?" She asked with a little laugh, trying to sit normally. it'd have to be someplace quiet. Without the every day noise... The last thing she needed was something triggering her brother.

Joshua: Joshua made quite a show of pouting at that comparison. "Except I'd never let you live with seven men, no matter how small!" His pout melted back into a smile as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and hugged her gently against his chest. With a content sigh, he shut his eyes, stroking his thumb against her arm.

He was tired... He hadn't been sleeping well since arriving here, because he no longer had someone attending to him all hours of the day. He was used to knowing he could call on Fiore whenever he wanted, but he didn't have that here, and it made it hard to sleep. Now that he had his sister in his arms, though, he could feel the desire for a nap weighting his eyelids down.

"So warm..." he muttered out as he began to doze right there. He'd figure out where they could live later. For now it was nap time.

Rosette: "Joshua?" She asked softly, sighing a bit as she felt him relax about her, her ear pressed to his chest, heartbeat silent. She ran her hand down his arm, a small smile on her lips. The poor boy... She had missed him so much. Even if he was- "Joshua?" She murmured again, testing if he was awake. Maybe this time things would go better...She just had to be more aggressive to get to those horns. And more careful about curses. This would work out, she knew it would.
