Log; Completed
When; August 18th, afternoonish
Rating; G
Characters; James Potter
snitch_seeker01 and Sirius Black
sirius_danger
Summary; Sirius hunts James down to bring him home. All this separation is not the Marauderly way!
Log;
Padfoot had caught James' scent. It wasn't hard; he hadn't even needed to sniff any of James' things before leaving. He'd know James' scent anywhere, and he was on his way to finding him. The big, shaggy black dog hadn't even needed to go far. James had taken refuge in a beach that could be found in the 13th room of their building. Trotting across the sand, he made his way over to the boy sitting at the water's edge, sniffing at the salty air. James didn't smell right. Something was very wrong with his stag.
He went back to human as he approached his best friend. Looking him over, he plopped down next to him, not caring that the waves came high enough to get both of the seats of their pants wet.
"So," He started casually, "Nice place you've got, here."

Yes, he had missed his Marauders, very much so, but what he saw that night...he couldn't get the image out of his mind, he wanted to, but he couldn't. All he could think about what this stupid city and its stupid bloody curses...
...he wanted to go home. This was one adventure James Potter could easily say he wanted nothing to do with.

At the same time though, he didn't want what had happened between him and Moony to be considered a bad thing. Maybe James had walked in on them, and that had to be REALLY awkward for him, but just WHAT about it bothered him? Sirius wasn't sure.
"Is it... always going to be like this now?" He asked quietly. James would know what he meant.

...James hated the way things had been the past week or so, he just didn't know how to confront them.
Finally, he turned to look at him. "No, mate, I hope not." Some of the life went back in his eyes just from being near his friend again. It was always rough when the Marauders were...
...put off from one another. Not that it ever happened!

What on earth was he doing?
A grin split across his features, running from ear to ear. "Of course it isn't going to be, you bloody deer." He said, going dog for a moment and tackling James, bowling him over into the water and romping around to splash the boy as much as he could. Then, he shook himself off, making sure James caught most of it, and turned human once more.
"There," He said in a satisfied way. "You see? Things are getting better all the time~" Sirius had forgotten for a moment that he was dealing with James, a fellow boy who more often than not just needed to work things out of his system with a friendly punch to the head or bout of wrestling. Sure, it wouldn't fix everything, but it was definitely a start in the right direction.

Once the perfect moment came, James lept at Sirius knocking him back into the water, wrestling with the boy on the shore. After a few moments, he sobered...as much as James sobers that is.
"I'm sorry mate. This city is bloody mad. It has a mind of it's own."

"It's about sodding time you came to find me then!" James hit Sirius' shoulder. "Here I was, wandering the city streets, a lonely stag with no friends, while you and Moony are of having a spot tea followed by endless nights of shagging!" He turned his head to the side and pretended to cry.
"It's okay mate...I never" sob "truly" another sob "loved you!" He broke out into fits of mock-sobs.

"We- HA HA- we only just, not a few days ago sorted it all-" He managed between fits of roaring laughter, slumping against James' shoulder to hold himself upright. "And I HAVE been looking for you, you twit! You were missing in action!" Something inside Sirius was practically glowing now that he was back at James' side, gasping for air and only ending up laughing even harder. Things with Moony were good, things with James were good... Where the hell was Peter? They needed to ALL be together.

"Come on Padfoot, let's go home. I haven't sleep in days. And I'm sure you haven't either." He winked and quickly bolted for the exit before Sirius could throttle him or attack him in any way.

Then, crying out indignantly at James' parting words, he tore after the grinning boy. "Coward!" He called. "FACE MY WRATH LIKE A MAN!" It was good to know that when all was said and done the Marauders truly were inseparable, and that even stupid cities with insane gods and ridiculous curses didn't stand a chance against what they had in each other.
