[ Ahiru's Birthday Party - Open Log ]

When; Saturday, May 10th
Rating; G-PG? Unless someone causes trouble.
Characters; Open to All
Summary; The Opera Abandoned opens it doors to the City for the day, shelter from the rainstorm and a cheery atmosphere within - food, cakes, decorations, music---all arranged by the Host Club and a few of Ahiru's close friends---all for the sake of celebrating Ahiru's 16th birthday as the very first birthday and birthday celebration the girl has ever had.
Log;
On the biggest table in the largest hall of the Opera was a large array of foods and drinks, all spread out on a long white cloth. And in the center stood two cakes, side by side.

Fakir leaned off to the side by the wall, arms crossed and his serious expression contrasting the cheerful white and yellow streamers and balloons that adorned the enclosure. He wasn't really looking forward to enduring the noisy and social gathering that was about to ensue, but this had been what Ahiru wanted to experience. And even if he wanted nothing more than to slink off somewhere alone, he had a duty to be present...and protect the Opera residents, if necessary.

Not that he wasn't also curious as to how the redhead would react when she finally arrived. The Host Club had certainly put a lot of work into this, for which he was grateful. The ex-knight didn't have much knowledge about parties and the like, but they certainly seemed to have outdone themselves. He wished he could have done more, but anything in a normal social life was pretty much alien to him.

Fakir sighed, crossing one leg across the other--and winced when his foot came in contact with something. The culprit--a plastic pink bird-- toppled to the floor and he scowled at it.

Really. Weren't the pink flamingos a bit much? Ahiru liked birds well enough, but the damn things were everywhere.

[ ooc: This can be comment logged or action post logged, whichever you prefer! (I did an action post part above, but don't feel like you have to do the same if you want to go the simple route.) ♥ I didn't elaborate too much on what the Host Club prepared, since I didn't have anything too clear, so feel free to do so yourselves if you wish, HC members! And if there's anything I need to change/edit, do let me know. Thank you! ]

...I might switch to comment logging if I get lazy. Doooon't know.

Ahiru had no idea what to expect. She felt like she'd been running around all over the place since the other night. First she had to visit poor Guy, and then this morning before she hardly had a chance to check the Network, Professor Cat had suddenly decided she needed to practice! And to top it off, the rain outside just kept pounding against the Opera walls...

What an exhausting day! she thought to herself as she walked, rubbing her sore side. Why did Professor Cat want her to go to the Great Hall, anyway? They hardly ever went in there, it was far, far too grand for any typical day-to-day use. With a sigh, she leaned against the heavy wooden door and pushed it open to find....

Streamers? Flamingos? Huh?

Ahiru turned and looked over her shoulder, sure he must mean someone else. Birthday? It had already been her birthday, a long time ago! And he'd given her a present and they'd had a nice time! It was good!

...But he did say "belated." (Belated meant late, right? Yeah, Ahiru thought that's what it meant...)

"Late birthday."

...No, really?

She blinked up at Fakir, her mouth slightly ajar. "Birthday? You mean...you mean my birthday?"

"Th-The Host Club did this? F-for me?" She looked around the room, taking in all of the decorations. She gasped softly and turned back to Fakir, her eyes wide with excitement. "I've never seen so many decorations! The closest I've ever seen is when Pique and Lilie thought you'd rejected me!"

"Well, um, remember when I wanted you to write a story for Mytho?" She laughed a little, rubbing the back of her head. "See, I think they thought I was going to tell you I had...feelings for you, or something. And they thought for sure you'd say you didn't, so they put up decorations in my room and lots of broken hearts and those silly glasses with the big noses and the mustaches? ...They didn't know I was mad about something else, so it didn't really help, but it was nice of them anyway."

She then straightened, skipping out more towards the center of the room. "But this is really nice! I don't think it's overboard at all, it looks wonderful! I think even you will have a good time, Fakir."

[identity profile] quackingly.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
She turned around to look at Fakir with a pout, crossing her arms. "They thought I'd be really depressed, so they were trying to cheer me up! It was nice!

"...Keep an eye on things? Like a manager at a restaurant?"

"Lilie? Oh, yeah, she was in the City for a little bit while I was here, right?" She scratched her head. "I think she means well, she just...has an odd way of showing she cares."

Ahiru blinked, then suddenly smiled. "A cake?? You have a cake for me? Did Mytho make it? His cakes were so pretty!"

[identity profile] quackingly.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Two cakes?!" Ahiru squealed with delight. She happily held Fakir's hand in hers and followed him, 'oooh'ing and 'aaah'ing over the cakes. "Kuromi made this one? It's so cute! I love the ballet slippers! And the one you guys made is so tall and pretty! You must have enough to feed a ton of people!"

Femio was eternally grateful to Ahiru for directing him to the Opera House. The rain outside was simply gastly... If it hadn't been for the voice of the aforementioned beautiful maiden, he didn't know if he would have been able to keep his sanity.

He never thought about things like carrying around umbrellas... Montand was always the one who thought of everything.

In any case, Femio had spent the last few hours hiding inside the Opera House, waiting for his hair to dry. He couldn't allow any young girls--princesses in their own right--to see him in such a state. Punishment or not, some things were just too difficult for him to think about, or even consider, for that matter.

And now he was wandering the halls, wondering where all the people he had seen before had dissapeared to. Not out into the rain, he was sure. One would have to be insane to do that. So exactly where...?

He opened one of the doors experimentally, and was not dissapointed. A literal feast for the eyes welcomed him, covered with the most amazing decorations he had ever seen in his life! Such splendor could only mean one thing...

"A party?!"

Perhaps this "City" wasn't so bad after all.

Mytho, cook book presents in hand, just stood by and watched Ahiru and Fakir shyly for a moment. He felt a bit awkward, like he was spying on something personal, but he did want to give Ahiru her wrapped gifts.

Or...was he supposed to set them aside somewhere? Suddenly, the prince was a bit confused and wondered if he was doing it wrong, so he carefully looked around and tried to figure it out.

Sakura had breathed easier once she'd had a job to do. Learn the duet to play at Ahiru's party- it was easy to do something like that, and it made the brunette feel as though she was really giving something to the other girl, when she didn't know what else she could have given.

But it wasn't time just yet, and Sakura lingered near the wall, timid still, even though these people were her friends, and she lived here now, formal occasions were somehow...still strange.

[identity profile] quackingly.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Ahiru's mouth dropped, and she starred at Fakir as if he'd somehow announced he was going to move to New York and change his name to Cindy. "You...invited the whole City? You agreed to that??"

[identity profile] quackingly.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
It took Ahiru a moment while she was babbling to notice the white-haired prince, but when she saw him she immediately grinned and ran over to him. "MYTHO!! Thank you so much for the cake, it's wonderful!"

[identity profile] amazing-guy.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Wow. Just wow. Whoever had arranged this had overdone it a little. Overdone was saying it lightly too. As per the rules, Guy had left his sword at home, not wanted to trust it with anyone else.

Still, this looked fairly nice and Guy wished he could say he contributed to helping set up this party.

[identity profile] quackingly.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Ahiru turned around from her meeting and greeting...and her eyes widened.

Oh no. NO! She'd almost forgotten Femio because of the party, but now--if she had known there was going to be a party, she would've told him to go somewhere else!!

"F-F-FEMIO?!"

[identity profile] quackingly.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ahiru was running all over the place, talking to any person she could see, even if she didn't know them at all, when she saw the young girl sitting by the wall. Ah! Sakura! Oh, she'd almost forgot about the shy ones! She quickly skipped up to her with a smile.

"Sakura! Do you like the party? Have you had some of the cake yet?"
