On the biggest table in the largest hall of the Opera was a large array of foods and drinks, all spread out on a long white cloth. And in the center stood two cakes, side by side.
Fakir leaned off to the side by the wall, arms crossed and his serious expression contrasting the cheerful white and yellow streamers and balloons that adorned the enclosure. He wasn't really looking forward to enduring the noisy and social gathering that was about to ensue, but this had been what Ahiru wanted to experience. And even if he wanted nothing more than to slink off somewhere alone, he had a duty to be present...and protect the Opera residents, if necessary.
Not that he wasn't also curious as to how the redhead would react when she finally arrived. The Host Club had certainly put a lot of work into this, for which he was grateful. The ex-knight didn't have much knowledge about parties and the like, but they certainly seemed to have outdone themselves. He wished he could have done more, but anything in a normal social life was pretty much alien to him.
Fakir sighed, crossing one leg across the other--and winced when his foot came in contact with something. The culprit--a plastic pink bird-- toppled to the floor and he scowled at it.
Really. Weren't the pink flamingos a bit much? Ahiru liked birds well enough, but the damn things were everywhere.
[ ooc: This can be comment logged or action post logged, whichever you prefer! (I did an action post part above, but don't feel like you have to do the same if you want to go the simple route.) ♥ I didn't elaborate too much on what the Host Club prepared, since I didn't have anything too clear, so feel free to do so yourselves if you wish, HC members! And if there's anything I need to change/edit, do let me know. Thank you! ]

...I might switch to comment logging if I get lazy. Doooon't know.
What an exhausting day! she thought to herself as she walked, rubbing her sore side. Why did Professor Cat want her to go to the Great Hall, anyway? They hardly ever went in there, it was far, far too grand for any typical day-to-day use. With a sigh, she leaned against the heavy wooden door and pushed it open to find....
Streamers? Flamingos? Huh?

...Ah. And there she was. Looking very clueless, but that was to be expected. He relaxed immediately, now that it was obvious the newcomer was not a threat, and inwardly decided he should greet her before she was overcome by other guests--as that would effectively coax him into keeping his distance.
Pulling from his slouch against the wall, Fakir approached the short girl, hands in his pockets and attempting something almost, but not quite like a smile. "...Happy belated birthday."

He never thought about things like carrying around umbrellas... Montand was always the one who thought of everything.
In any case, Femio had spent the last few hours hiding inside the Opera House, waiting for his hair to dry. He couldn't allow any young girls--princesses in their own right--to see him in such a state. Punishment or not, some things were just too difficult for him to think about, or even consider, for that matter.
And now he was wandering the halls, wondering where all the people he had seen before had dissapeared to. Not out into the rain, he was sure. One would have to be insane to do that. So exactly where...?
He opened one of the doors experimentally, and was not dissapointed. A literal feast for the eyes welcomed him, covered with the most amazing decorations he had ever seen in his life! Such splendor could only mean one thing...
"A party?!"
Perhaps this "City" wasn't so bad after all.

Oh no. NO! She'd almost forgotten Femio because of the party, but now--if she had known there was going to be a party, she would've told him to go somewhere else!!
"F-F-FEMIO?!"

Fakir immediately whirled around toward the door, silently cursing himself for being so distracted. There was something ominous about that voice--
He froze, eyes widening in a mixture of shock and revulsion at the sight that greeted them.
Oh no. He'd been so damn careful not to let that idiot get wind of this! Who in the hell had led him here!?

But it wasn't time just yet, and Sakura lingered near the wall, timid still, even though these people were her friends, and she lived here now, formal occasions were somehow...still strange.

"Sakura! Do you like the party? Have you had some of the cake yet?"

Pulling away from his station by the entrance, he approached the younger girl cautiously. "...Sakura?"

Still, this looked fairly nice and Guy wished he could say he contributed to helping set up this party.

Then, as she was running to look at one of the flamingos perched against the wall, she saw a tuff of blond hair. Guy! He was alright! He was cured! He wasn't horribly scarred! Ahiru quickly ran towards him, arms outstretched--
Oh! That's right, he didn't like to be touched by girls. She quickly dropped her hands to her side and tried to slow down her pace, but the grin on her face remained. "Guy! Hi! You're feeling better?"

He walked towards the wall, ready and waiting for instruction as to when he was to perform. After all, that's really all he was here for.

...Ah! A stranger? No, a new friend! The girl walked up to the mysterious boy with a smile. "Hello! Are you with the Host Club?"

After "ooohing" at flamingo that was taller than her, Uzura noticed Ahiru and marched over toward her, beginning to drum. "Happy birthday-zura! Birthday-birthday-birthday-birthday-birthday-zura!"

Granted, Setsuna's mind immediately shifted from worrying over that to staring at the plastic pink flamigos. FLAMIGOS?! Flamigos and yellow and white streamers and balloons? He could deal with the yellow, but mixed with the pink - what was this?
Eventually, his mouth just had to ask, "What the fuck is with the flamigos?"
no subject
Oh! That boy she met the other day! Didn't he say that he cursed like that, too? So that must be...
"Setsuna?"

Everything about the party was warm, bright, and welcoming. There was food, there were streamers, there were...flamingos! She could easily guess how they got there, and couldn't help but grin.
She was glad to see so many people had come, even if she didn't know them all. She saw Sakura and waved cheerfully, smiling. She wondered where the birthday girl was, and paused for a moment as she tried to locate her, holding her wrapped present behind her back.

Ahiru's present
But first, a detour into the safety of a nearby decorative life sized flamingo flock.
Amongst the many pink stem-like plastic legs, the wooden doll pulled a little paper swathed bundle out of its waist banded bow tie. Careful unwrapping revealed a swan broach (http://www.emcity.com/images3/sl007.jpg). On the back, the simple inscription read Much Happiness to Quacking Girl. After giving the gift a quick once over and a pleased nod, the doll resumed its journey.

So he decided to take it over himself. The only problem was the rain. After puzzling over that for a bit he found a plastic box he could put it in, then an umbrella caught his eye. As Parasol Kirby, he could make extra sure it didn't get wet, so he swallowed the umbrella and headed over to the Oprea House.
He was a little surprised to find lots of people there with music and pretty decorations. "Poyo? A party?"
He walked in with the box containing the cake on his head, lowering the little red and white stripe parasol that was part of his current ability as soon as he was completely out of the rain and looking around curiously.

How did someone behave in these parties?
She sighed and sat down, fidgeting the edge of her simple, red dress. She tried to locate Ahiru and waited she was alone to congratulate her.

The redhead skipped up to the older girl and threw her arms around her, giving her a big hug. "Rue! The cake you and Mytho and Fakir made is wonderful! Thank you so much for all the work you've done!"

Where was Ahiru?
no subject
He was really excited at the first proper party since he'd arrived in the City. Usa-chan was wearing a smart bow-tie in honour of the occasion and Hunny was all ready to great Ahiru with a happy birthday hug as soon as she was done talking to her other friends.
