log; in progress
When; Monday, May 26th; 4pm
Rating; PG?
Characters; Yumichika Ayasegawa (
too_ugly), Shiki Tohno (
concept_killer), and Clow Reed (
i_themagician)
Summary; Tea, flirting, and possible death threats.
Log;
Clow sighed contentedly as he finished setting the table - everything was in place now except for the tea, which Yumichika would be bringing. It was impossible to tell whether he and Shiki understood or merely tolerated Clow's English eccentricities, but the magician just couldn't help it that when someone said to him that they should have tea together, high tea at four is just what came to mind. He had been careful not to let himself think or wonder too much about what kind of tea the shinigami mght be bringing, for his Foresight was cruel and would spoil anything Clow had built up in his mind as a 'surprise', no matter how small - but if he was bringing some kind of green tea that would be fine, too.
Stellaluna, perched on the sill of an open window, fluttered her wings in agitation as Clow by contrast answered the door so casually and apparently without thought that you'd think someone had actually knocked. Sure enough, Yumichika and his daemon were standing there.
"Ayasegawa-san~, come on in~."

Surprised by his greeting, Yumichika chuckled and settled just as quickly. He didn't want to spill the canister of tea he'd toted along, after all. It was piping hot and to spill it would be a tragic waste, especially after he'd put forth so much effort into making it. Shifting the bamboo-laden outside between his fingers, he presented it as an offering to Clow with a slight nod of his head.
"This is my daemon, Kido."
Kido, standing next to Yumichika, gave a happy swish of her tail in greeting.
Clow Reed.

He relaxed on the couch that he used when not in his room. He prepared himself for the sight that was to come. Hopefully the weirdo hadn't overdone himself.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kido. The antisocial lady by the window," he said, gesturing to said window, "is Stellaluna."
The dove seemed nonplussed at having attention drawn to her, and apparently did not feel the need to speak but continued to watch the room impassively. Smiling to Shiki, Clow almost said something snarky but then thought better of it and headed back into the dining room instead. "Well, tea time~. I assume you'll be joining us, Shiki?"

"What a pretty name."
Trailing after their host, Yumi took an easy stride into the dining room with Kido in tow. Hearing Shiki's name, his face lit up. It sounded familiar. He couldn't forget it. He'd exchanged words with the boy named 'Shiki' and the most memorable ones weren't exactly pleasant. Folding his arms over his chest, Yumichika took care to stand out of Clow's line of vision to give Shiki a little glare. His pleasant tone of voice did nothing to betray the harsh look he directed toward the boy.
"Yes, Shiki-san. Won't you join us? I made the tea myself."

"I think I will. Hopefully my skin will gain a beautiful glow from your own brew. Yes?"
If Shiki could send thought hate sparks to the weirdo, he would have. And implode his head while he was at it.

"I see what you're doing there," she informed the group, as she was still sitting at the window sill and watching the room. "... Why can't you all just get along?"
no subject
"Yes, let's hope so. That would be so nice for you!"
Offering a double-edged smile, the Shinigami pressed his clothing against his thighs and lowered himself to take a seat. Tucking the excess fabric around his knees, he casually stole a glance at Kido. The wolf was idly sniffing the floor and around the edges of furniture to get a proper scent of the place, perhaps even a proper scent of Stellaluna herself. The look from Yumichika cued her to come to his side and sit not too far away. His response to Stellaluna was as calm and assuring as he could manage.
"Nonsense, Stellaluna. We're merely being civil."

Determined to be more annoying, Shiki stood up and strode over to Yumi. He offered his hand in a polite handshake. His other hand pushed up his glasses, making one of those glints of lights that look really annoying form on the lenses.
"It's nice to meet you in person for once. Please, allow me to show you how a proper Tohno family member acts."

This brat was pretentious.
To protect his eyes from the glare, he simply shut them.
"A pleasure to meet you in person as well."

For his part, Clow looked amused as he poured the tea but said nothing. Yumi and Shiki would prove interesting to watch even if their little fight precluded any more civil conversation.

"Thank you, Clow, for taking care of the tea. If you would please, serve our guest first. Hospitality." He threw another poker face smile but this time he gave it to Clow.
