Log; open if someone is interested
When; Sunday, June 1st, morning.
Rating; PG.
Characters; Youko Nakajima -
reginagloriae and her blue monkey demon stalker/voice of her conscience & fear/sheath of her sword with the guest appearances/glimpses of npcs parents. I suppose this could be open if anybody is interested to find a soaked wet Youko in the aftermath?
Summary; Youko faces the true reason behind her choice of helping yesterday.
Log;
She heard his horrible screeching laughter before his blue phosphorescent silhouette appeared before her eyes. Youko wasn’t in any way surprised he had stalked her from the apartment to the edge of the forest where she sat unlady-like on the stone above the fresh water sprite, clashing with her feminine long skirt and a pink blouse she was wearing. If her father would see her now, she thought miserably.
“Maybe he can see you, silly girl, what are you going to tell him?” questioned the monkey, grabbing something from the air. It was a mask; a mask that resembled her father’s face. Her eyes widened and she had to look away as the ape spoke through the mask, his voice was of her father’s: “What is this behavior, Youko? Ladies shouldn’t sit that way.”
“Father… No way… I…” Youko bit her lip, focusing elsewhere. The sound of the dripping water relaxed her. She could feel its cool running through her body, strengthening her for some reason she was beyond her.
“Oh no.” Youko looked up in shock. It was her mother’s voice; the monkey was wearing her mask. “What did you do, Youko? I raised a normal, good girl. A girl who wouldn’t heal people with strange jewels; you drew too much attention to yourself. How could you do this to us?”
“Mom…” she whispered, shutting her eyes tightly and covering her ears to not listen. “They needed help! They were dying and bleeding… everywhere”
“For their sake, eh?” the monkey breathed into her ear, standing upside down next to her. Youko screamed and lost balance, falling into the water. The ape was splashed by her fall, but he didn’t seem to care; his grating laughter cut the air around her. “Oh and there is this!” He reached out to paw at the space near her face, removing something from there.
Youko stared in disbelief. It was her mask.
“I had to do it, mom! They were… They were all suspicious of me! A normal, powerless girl draws too much attention! So if I wasn’t suddenly powerless, I would be like the majority in here! I wouldn’t be treated like a freak! I did it…because I needed to keep pretending I was a good girl.”
Stop… Youko tried stop listening what he… she had to say, but the voice was spoken right in her mind. “That’s not true!”
“Ohoh? No true, silly girl? You helped because you were told to; you didn't care either way,” the monkey sneered, still hangint on the rock, glancing at her with his face half covered with hers. “You have to look after yourself from now on. They know you have that gem; some might begin to crave for it. Don’t turn your back to the door, stay wide awake at night!” His laughter was the last thing that disappeared, as Youko remained hopelessly wet and sat into the water sprite.
I won’t… believe it.
