Summary; Sometimes it just takes a hit in the head to realize what's obvious.

As much as he loved Ianto and Mercy, he really hadn't been too far off when he'd told Rose and several others that they'd have him drowned in tea and soup. He appreciated their care and, considering he wasn't used to being sick,he'd needed the help. However, he was still Captain Jack and he needed his space; being cooped up for so long never sat well with him...especially since he'd usually be healed from whatever had knocked him down and back on his feet in no time.
That was why he'd gone to a roof. Not the highest one in the city but certainly higher than what his house could provide. After he'd stood there for a little while, admiring the view, he pulled out his network device and set up a video call; he knew Ianto wouldn't question his absence, but he didn't want Mercy to worry if she went to check on him and found he wasn't there.
"Mercy? Just wanted to let you know I stepped out for a bit. Shouldn't be too long."
