Log; In-Progress
When; June 28, evening
Rating; PG?
Characters; Luck [
fortuna_eterna] & Claire [
formyworld]
Summary; With Vino's arrival in the City announced on the network, Luck and his adopted brother meet up, to catch up.
Log;
He'd closed early, sent the employees home and with them the last of the patrons, stumbling out in to the night. With a small, exasperated sigh, the youngest son of the Gandor family closed the door behind them and moved the sign. Open, now Closed. Lights were dimmed, from the brighter overheads to the lamps on the few tables and at either end of the long bar, soothing the headache he felt building behind his eyes.
This business had the same outward feel, but nothing of the heart of business back in New York. Claire's arrival, however, was something to be said. The arrival of the man he'd grown up beside, and whom he relied on for the sake of the Gandor family, was a boon indeed.
The glasses made a dull clink as he set them down on the counter, a brief smile crossing his features. They had a lot of catching up to do.

And so Claire didn't bother to knock before coming in, not bothering to check for people on the street-- he had no reason to be suspicious of others. That would make them suspicious of Claire and, in turn, it would reflect badly on Luck.
He owed quite a lot to Luck.
The door shut quietly behind him and he stood in front of it, slowly removing his coat and draping it over one shoulder, and waving at Luck's familiar, sharp features.
"I didn't rush, but I hope I'm not late."

"Just on time, as usual, Claire." Whatever he was calling himself these days, Vino, Rail Tracer, the red head would never be anything but Claire to a Gandor. More's the pity there weren't more Gandors here to call him that. Luck had never before operated without his elder brothers, and while he prided himself on intellect and level headed behavior, he still found himself wishing for familiar faces.
"I trust the City has treated you well, in your short time here?" He gestured to an empty seat across the bar from him, fingers moving along the drink selection behind him, eying what he had a taste for as he spoke.

After a smile, he looked away from Luck as he spoke to answer Luck and pay the necessary and honest compliments, eyes trailing over the interior of Luck's Cassagioso.
"The city could hardly treat me badly, Luck, I've been happy. I've found a job and met interesting people. And yourself, look at this place, it's wonderful. It must have been rough working by yourself for the first time, but that just means you deserve more credit."

"Rough?" He drew down a scotch, pouring their drinks and sliding a glass to his near brother, replacing the bottle and setting it on the bar before he took his own seat, following Claire's gaze.
"I wouldn't say rought. More difficult than usual perhaps, but let's not say rough. I've had to get involved with outside parties, which is unusual enough, but I've made do."
