Log: Complete
When; July 16 (afternoon)
Rating; PG
Characters; Edmund
justest, Bree
noflatterer, Caspian
treadingdawn & Peter
lionrampante
Summary; It's time to come home and meet the family.
Log; Continued from here.
[Edmund is wordless in agreement. Maybe it's he who worries more than he should. He doesn't add to it, simply lets a hand slip and rub at Bree's hide, lingering longer than it perhaps should.]
Please.
[He licks his lips, feels the wind against his face. Edmund steadies himself on Bree's back, hands holding firm, knows the speeds in which Bree can fly, fast like Philip. It won't do if Edmund is wary and uncertain. Being bucked off by an incoming gale is not a prospect that appeases Edmund.]

This is where I found that girl.
[That girl being Ariel. It's a shot in the dark that maybe people drop into the City at certain constant locations. This time though the beach seems empty.]
no subject
[Peter doesn't see any harm in looking at the beach, even if it's an odd place to look. After all, they did arrive back in Narnia near what was Cair Paravel.]
no subject
She came from the sea. I never got her name, she was mute.
[Destrier plods along slowly on the sand. No foot prints though.]
no subject
Perhaps we should look someplace a bit more crowded? The Carousel seems to be a popular place for people to arrive.
no subject
Do you think the sea comes to an end out there?
[It's relevant really, because he wonders about where the City begins and if it's the only one here. What if the other two are out there? But then he turns to Peter.]
Yes, we should search there too.
no subject
[It's Caspian the Explorer, after all. Peter wonders if he should admit he's never explored past the Lone Islands, but that doesn't seem entirely relevant here in the city.]
no subject
That the City has never seen? Even with those who could sail or fly beyond the horizon?
[He remembers what their purpose is though and turns Destrier to climb back up on the grass.]
no subject
[Leads his borrowed mount after Caspian!]
It's strange though. We've been here for more than a month, and Susan finally shows up. Why would we arrive at different times like that?
ooc: out for an hour to pick up dinner!
no subject
Time in Narnia is almost the same way, is it not? I arrived days after your departure.
no subject
[Appreciates the slower pace, because he's busy looking back and forth just in case Edmund or Lucy pops out from behind a tree or something.]
You had time to get things in order, then?
no subject
Excuse me?
[Not sure what he's referring to, besides the obvious throne order.]
no subject
Consuls, advisers, and emergency laws?
no subject
Oh, yes. Trumpkin and Trufflehunter are aware of our arrangement.

I wonder ...
[The stallion pulls up and turns his head for a better view of Edmund.]
Caspian takes Destrier for exercise at about this time of day. I should have thought of it sooner. Perhaps your brother has taken a horse out as well and joined him.
no subject
[Edmund is sure he recognises the name, sends Bree a look as he turns his head. Edmund's settled comfortably on Bree's back, no longer worried about the threat of falling off, Bree having obliged and done him a service by slowing his pace.]
That would be a fortunate coincidence then.
[The words are said more to Edmund, himself, than to Bree, but aware he's listening all the same.]
Let's hope they're there, shall we?
no subject
[Sets out again at a relaxed walk, moving towards A route he knows that Caspian sometimes takes.]
Considering we're all confined to a relatively small piece of land, finding each other is less coincidence and more a natural consequence of having nowhere else to go.
[Wrings his tail in agitation.]
At times it's far too much like being in Calormen again.
[OOC: One more errand for the night. x.x Be back as soon as I can.]

[The remark is made of Narnia, and Edmund hopes all the animals there will be able to regain their voice over time. To be dumb without voice, unable to make sound is like a bad crime to him. A punishment beyond those he knows.
It isn't hard to feel a shift undergoing. Edmund senses the change in Bree's character, the tightening of muscle against his legs. Edmund's petting his neck again, muttering soothing words under his breath when the subject Calormen is brought up.]
Let's not think of it like that. At least this place has the decency to grow sunflowers. I'm looking forward to seeing Peter again though.
[The admittance sounds more of a confession than a simple statement. Edmund doesn't like thinking of the past anymore than he should. He'd rather not if he can avoid it.]
(OOC: Feel free! We're almost done, so it's no worries at all.)
no subject
This place grows a great many things that are worth seeing, and a great many more that aren't. I met a vampire horse the other day. Can you imagine?
[Something catches Bree's attention, and he stops. His ears come forward, turn a bit to better catch the noise.]
Horses. Two of them, I should think.
no subject
Ouch!
[Really, ever since he's been reduced back to this form, he lack propriety and regal poise. Edmund shakes off the rest of the foliage quickly, a faux pas on his regard. He brushes off a stray leaf in haste, but pauses in his actions. Edmund mouth clamps shut at Bree's words, his ears perk at the sounds from a near distance.]
Voices.
no subject
[Peter might have picked up on some noises in the bush, but chooses not to comment out loud. He shoots Caspian a look of 'hear that?']
no subject
.....
[One shadow, must be one rider. He raises a finger--no not that one--to gesture his thought then places a hand on his sword as he motions for Destrier to still.]

Edmund notices that the sounds have died even though Bree's chosen to reveal their location. Edmund decides to trust him, feels something rocking at his bones that is Bree's way of conveying they're safe.]
