When; Friday, February 10th
Rating; Fighting/Language
Characters; Our fighters
Summary; It's fight night.
Log;
The address that Carla had left as her meeting place left something to be desired. She had found the abandoned building on one of her frequent midnight boughts of wanderlust. It had once contained a relatively small indoor pool, it was clearly recreational, had no room for lap lanes. Not that it mattered much, it had long since been drained of water, its tiles broken. There wasn't much light, but she had been bothered to put up a few electric lanterns.
That's about as fancy as she's getting. Otherwise, she's waiting there with the medic, and with her hat and its numbers. She knows how many she spoke to, and has just a few extra should any strays wander in.
When she sees about as many faces as she'd expected and is tired of waiting, she brings round the hat. She's only explaining this once. Take a number, put it back and remember it. They're drawing opponents next.

He doesn't offer a return blow of his own yet, his movement purely defensive. He'd rather draw out his opponent and see what she's capable of.]

Carla tightens her stance in, watching him thoughtfully, but she's not an idiot, she knows she's being observed in kind. The movement of her forward hand is a feint before the other comes up and under towards the body.]

He dodges again, his expression blank. He doesn't telegraph his movements. However, he still doesn't seem any faster than an ordinary human.
He's more interested in her improving her skills than in indulging her self-destructive desires.]

Either she hits him or he wears her down and puts her out.]

He continues to dodge and weave, then, suddenly, swiftly strikes at her lower jaw with his fist. He could break it, but he doesn't exert that much force, still holding back.]

Getting hit is a great way to learn how to block.]

As far as he's concerned, at this point, this is a teaching fight. There's nothing superhuman about it.]

She brings her elbows in tight, moving to the best of her ability, but opens up again to retaliate, twisting to throw her elbow into his face.]

He does enjoy the fight, the motion, even if it's not the kind of fighting he's used to, and even if Carla's a very different kind of opponent. They're not well-matched, where skill and strength are concerned, but he can find something of interest in any battle.]
