Summary; Tenten and Hinata take a trip to the mall to get Hinata some clothes, and to have some "girl-time".
Log; Hinata stood in front of the large glass and concrete structure, hands clasped behind her. She rocked slightly back and forth on the balls of her feet, opal-hued eyes glancing from side to side as the slight breeze blew her dark indigo-coloured hair. She shivered slightly in the chill breeze. It was cold. Glancing up at the grey sky above her, the Hyuuga girl wondered if perhaps it would snow soon. The thought made her smile. She loved the snow, that pristine white fluff that fell softly through the sky to pile on top of and cover the entirety of the world. In the snow, things seemed so silent, so pure and untouched, that it made it easier for her to forget her troubles for a moment. She raised her chilled hands to her face and blew on them, rubbing cold fingers against each other for warmth before stuffing them into the pockets of the dark blue jeans that she had borrowed from Tenten. The jacket was also borrowed, and Hinata was thankful for the fact that it was a bit oversized. She'd been rather embarassed to find that she was a bit...curvier..in places than the other girl. It only served to make the shirts fit tighter and closer to her body then she was really comfortable with. Which just meant that she was all-the-more determined to find her OWN clothes and rectify the "problem", as she saw it. She glanced up as she heard someone call her name, waving to Tenten as the brunette ran up.

"Tenten-san, ready to go?"

At Tenten's nod, they headed inside the mall.

"Tenten-san, I wanted to thank you for coming with me. I mean, I really appreciate you letting me borrow your clothes and things, but I'd really like to get some things of my own."

"It's a bit odd that yours didn't make it back." She frowned slightly in concentration, weaving in and out of the crowd without watching where she was going. Her mind was elsewhere, despite having promised the smaller girl she'd hang out with her for the day and show her around.

Tenten was thinking back to second trip to the underground, and replaying every attack she'd seen a certain silver haired boy use. He hadn't been that bad a fighter, not that she'd admit it. A grin creapt across her face at the thought and she glanced over her shoulder to make sure Hinata was keeping up. "But I suppose it doesn't matter. New clothes are better than sweaty old ones, right?" She paused outside a shop that didn't look too overpriced, waiting for Hinata's approval.

"Even if you don't I'm sure I've got enough." Unlike the rest of the female population aged 16-19, Tenten had found better ways to spend her time than shopping. Her dedication to being a weapons master shone through when ability to coordinate failed, and she didn't mind that one bit.

"Just choose some things you'd like. We can always come back if we need too." She smiled reassuringly at the smaller shinobi, glancing about the shop.

"No, no, no Hinata san, you can't wear that!" Kabuto reached from behind the shy girl and plucked the clothing from her hands. "Not at all becoming on a pretty girl like you. We can do better than that." He placed the clothing back in its proper place.

Kabuto grabbed the girl's hand, and dragged her a little further off into the maze that was the girls section of clothing, every now an then pulling something from the fray. After several minutes of this he stopped in front of the changing room and stuffed the pile of lace and frills into the shy girls arms. "Those should all fit, judging from your build. Good thing I came looking for clothing myself today. If I hadn't who knows what you might have picked out." He turned to Tenten. "Really, you should be more helpful to the girl, I doubt she knows what she's doing. Hyuuga's would never let one of their own go shopping like this."

Tenten had waited patiently, aware that Hinata seemed somewhat nervous around her. It was frustrating - a lot of people treated her with care because she was Neji's team mate. They tended to forget her own abilities. It meant she could shine through in individual battles, as she'd been recently, and happily, reminded, but it still left her feeling hollow from time to time.

She knew what it was to be in Neji's shadow.

As soon as Kabuto appeared she'd frowned, fingers instinctively reaching for her weapons and holding tight. She watched, rather amazed, at Kabuto's choice in clothing before laughing. Hard.

"Lace and frills aren't that handy on a battle field, Kabuto-san. You should let her chose by herself. I'm sure she'd like a break from always being told what to do." Her grip didn't loosen as she waited for his retort.

"Tenten san, this store doesn't really sell anything battle feild appropreate anyway. So, I think if you are going to take her shopping in a store for casual clothing, it should consist of something that will compliment her looks."

He stared at the kunoichi for a moment before dissapearing into the maze of clothing once more, then appeared with another armful of things. He shoved them into Tentens grasp. "You try these on." What he had grabbed for the girl consisted of a few dresses, rather form fitting and complimenting for someone with a less curvy build and some jeans and t-shirts in colors, beside the usual pink, that would look good on the girl.

She frowned, handing them back to him with little grace. "I'm fine with what I've got." She glared at him - that dangerous look every shinobi had mastered. "I suggest that you should take care of your own wardrobe before tending to anyone elses."

It wasn't so much that she wanted a fight. But the male population of the city had been getting on her nerves recently and if a clothing store was sacrificed in the name of letting off steam, Tenten wasn't going to think twice about it. She had at least one summoning scroll on her... and that was all she needed.

"Now, I wonder what's taking Hinata san so long." He raised his voice a little so it would carry into the dressing room. "Is everything okay in there? Does Tenten san need to come and help you with anything?"

Mental facepalm count, one. "Hinata... you don't have to try on the things you don't like." She glanced over at Kabuto, glare still in place.

"If you want to be in charge of this, then fine. I'll go home." Tenten shrugged, hands weapon free. For the time being. "I was hoping to get back to the underground tonight anyway."

[identity profile] snake-servant.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, don't go, she needs more than just my opinion on how she looks." Kabuto smiled at Tenten. "Besides you brought her here in the first place, it wouldn't do to just leave her."

He turned his attention back to Hinata. "As I thought, it looks very adorable on you, and pink is a very good color for you Hinata san." He made a shooing motion with his hands. "Alright, show us the next one."

[identity profile] snake-servant.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, very cute!" Kabuto clapped his hands together, smiling brightly. "This kind of clothing is very becoming on you. There isn't a straight boy who won't go head over heels for you dressed like this.... Don't you think Tenten san?"

He tapped his chin thoughtfully with a finger for a second. "I do like this one a lot on you, but I still think pink is the better color."

[identity profile] weaponed.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"If you like it." She smiled reassuringly at the smaller shinobi. It wasn't her intention to leave her here but the safety of the shop was in jepordy if Kabuto continued with what he was doing. Tenten clenched her fists, doing her best to relax but she couldn't help it.

"What exactly are you up to in a girls store anyway, Kabuto?"

[identity profile] snake-servant.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"I was on my way by when I thought I saw you two come in here. I wanted to say hello." He paused, expression becoming concerned. "I'm allowed to do that, am I not? I hope you aren't still angry about the pie thing. I was not happy with that either."

[identity profile] snake-servant.livejournal.com 2006-08-25 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"What do you think you're doing?" Kabuto placed his hands on his hipps. "Go back and get the rest, you can't pick out the pink things and leave them behind." He smiled. "If you are going to be wearing these things, you have to get what looks the best on you, and that's the pink."

She sighed, leaving the argument up to the two of them. Shopping really wasn't her forte. Not unless they were with an arms dealer. But a quick glance around found no one suited to that description, and Tenten was forced to watch as Kabuto heaped the pile of cloths on Hinata.
