When; Friday, August 22nd
Rating; PG?
Characters; Uruki/Rimudo
un_fated and Ty Lee
auraoftheday
Summary; Ty Lee discovers that her roommate is not as female as she first thought.
Log;
When Uruki woke up, she didn't realize that anything was amiss. Not in particular. Not entirely a morning person, she rolled out of bed with the usual half-hearted grumble, leaving the bed the usual untidy mass of blankets and sheets. In a half-daze, she moved towards the kitchen with the intent of grabbing some breakfast, still neglecting to notice that anything was unusual about that particular morning.
Such as that she was no longer a "she," but a he.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time.

So when Uruki came out into the hall, Ty Lee was in the living room, curled up on the couch with a cup of tea held between both her hands. The television- such a wonderful piece of technology -was switched on to a talk show. Since coming to the City, Ty Lee had discovered that she really liked talk shows.
"Good morning!" she called absently over her shoulder, and then giggled at a bad joke one of the hosts made.

Meanwhile, he was so used to hearing himself both ways, he didn't even consider the fact that a male's voice came from his mouth.
Stifling a yawn, heading into the kitchen, "Do we still have the cereal, or did you finish it off?"

She didn't recognize the voice from the kitchen. It wasn't Mai, obviously, because, while Mai did have a deeper voice, it wasn't that deep. And it didn't belong to Gino, either. She'd been living with him long enough to pick his voice out of a crowd. Tasuki had stayed at his house in the woods, so it wasn't him...
And it couldn't be Uruki...
Leaning forward, she set her mug down on the coffee table and hit the 'mute' button on the remote. The television went silent, and she twisted around to face the kitchen, both eyebrows raised.
Who on earth--?
"Umm...I think there's some left?"

A little more banging and clattering, and he emerged to lean in the doorway, mouth half-full, cereal bowl balanced in one hand. She was staring in his direction. "What? Don't have to stop on my account -- even though they're a waste of time."

...Not Uruki, but this man bore a striking resemblance to her- even shared her dislike of talk shows. Maybe they were related? Siblings? But Uruki never mentioned a brother. Still, it was the obvious conclusion to reach- the only one that made sense.
"Sorry, I don't think we've been introduced yet. I'm Ty Lee! Are you Uruki's brother?"

". . . Crap."
Well, he'd been meaning to tell her anyway . . . it would seem this would solve the problem of how, whether he liked it or not.

Ty Lee raised her eyebrows.
"So you aren't...Uruki's brother?"

With a mutter he shifted his eyes away -- more from annoyance than embarrassment. "I'm Uruki. Rimudo, actually."
