Log; complete!
When; Today, at noon
Rating; PG
Characters; Seiya Kou,
toburnperfectly and Tenou Haruka,
kazeno_youni.
Summary; When Haruka manages to beat him at American football, Seiya reveals a little about his relationship to Odango and the other Senshi like he promised. Emphasis on a little.
Log;
Watching Haruka yet again move - rather effortlessly - past him and stop elegantly in his home-made end zone, the ball dropping to the ground so slowly that it, too, had to be mocking him, Seiya realised he'd just been beat in his own game. By Tenou Haruka, of all people.
He couldn't believe it. Seiya never lost in sports - not when he was playing for real, that was. Not to mention that if he had known that woman would score more touchdowns than he'd done in his entire time playing for the team at Odango's high school, he wouldn't have promised to tell her about his connection to her Princess.
Oh, how he hated losing.
Walking over to the blonde and picking the ball up, he weighed it in his hands, carefully not looking at her. He really hadn't imagined she would be able to beat him at American football - and now when she had, the promise he'd made felt like one of Sailor Star Fighter's attacks gone wrong. Finally, after a moment of tense silence, he gave up on keeping his aggravation at bay, kicking the ball a good 150 feet away with an unrestrained shout of annoyance. With the built up irritation out of his system, he turned to the tall woman and crossed his arms over his chest, not letting her victorious smirk get to him.
"Well, Haruka-san," he said, not even trying to sound polite - it wasn't as if she was all that polite either. Tch, why she was so special to Odango, he would never understand. At least Michiru had manners and some sort of charm, even if a mysterious one. Haruka was just irritating, at least if you asked Seiya. She had mingled in business not her own and tried keeping Odango and him away from each other.
No, Seiya didn't like Haruka at all and losing to her in his favourite sport didn't help things.
"That was quite some strength you showed there, huh?" he noted, his voice dark, clearly mocking her, even though the words themselves were praising. He remembered their first meeting; Haruka's stony silence and her fist that had suddenly shot forward, aiming for his solar plexus. "And speed too," he added as an afterthought, his eyes narrowed.
Get out, she'd told him.
Later, when their real identities had been revealed and the Outer Senshi had carried out what they considered their missiontheir duty, he had really wanted to tell her the very same thing.
No, Seiya didn't owe Tenou Haruka the truth. Not the Haruka from his own time and not this Haruka either. He didn't owe her anything.

The blonde gave a mocking smirk as she rolled the football off of her palm and allowed it to slowly hit the ground. Watching Seiya's frustration from the corner of her eye, Haruka's victorious eyes soon turned to a cold stare as he spoke. Typical man. Musician was it? There was something about him that didn't sit right to the senshi of the sky. Some kind of power from the... stars? Just why and how... well, that's why she was generously entertaining the boy after all. To find out what he knows.
Facing Seiya, Haruka returned a similar tone of voice expect colder. "All right. Play time is over. Let's hear it..."

That was her own problem. Not his.
If she wanted his story, he'd give her his story... whatever parts of it he wanted to share.
"Tch," he began, one shoulder moving up in a careless shrug, "you sure you can handle the story, Haruka-san?" Looking at her out the corner of his eye, his smirk faded. Her eyes were cold and unimpressed.
He didn't like people who didn't fall for his charm. She might not like men (the corner of his mouth twitched at the memory of her irritation at Yaten's comment that night at Odango's house), but she had no reason to behave like an idiot.
Well, maybe she had...
"Back in Tokyo," he mused silently, Odango's unimpressed banter with him echoing in his mind, "I was a big star. So, me and the others transferred to Odango's school and I ended up in her class." Giving her a cocky leer, he met her eyes directly, saying the next few words in a deeper, more sensual voice: "We grew rather close, you know."

"Heh~ She didn't seem like the type to go after little cocky boys. If I remember correctly... she already has someone she's deeply devoted to..." she scoffed him. So a classmate from school. All right. Fine. Great. It still didn't explain why he knew about Michiru and more so of her. At least, they have something in common; music. Haruka did a few performances with Michiru but nothing to the extent of where someone would remember her from that.
Crossing her arms, she pushed him to continue. "And? Michiru doesn't seem to know you either... How do you know about us?"

"Tch," he finally managed, voice angry, "such a cold guy, leaving her alone like that..." There was many other things he could think of saying about the man in the picture he'd seen in Odango's room that day, but Haruka wasn't the person he'd ever share that kind of information with. Instead of dwelling at the thought, he cocked his head at her and smirked.
So she wanted to know how he'd got to know Michiru. That was a story he didn't mind sharing at all. Just the look on her face would be well worth risking her anger.
Straightening up a little, he looked straight at her, eyes teasing. "Michiru joined me and the other guys at a concert once..." Seiya thought back on the concert with a grin, Michiru's words about him not being a fan of classical music echoing in his mind. Some kinds of classical music he didn't mind. Especially when someone like her was playing it. Not that he was going to tell Haruka that either. "We got friendly afterward and who could have said what would have happened if you hadn't dropped in at that moment, huh?" He raised an eyebrow at her, awaiting her reaction.
This was going to be good.

Her body tensing, the blonde listened to Seiya's story as he revealed it little by little, giving her unwelcomed hints along the way. There was never a time when Haruka wasn't at her concerts. Obviously, his story had to have been made up just to piss her off. The last thing she wanted him to know was just how well it was working.
Letting out an audible 'hmph', she abruptly turned her head to the side and closed her eyes as she mumbled her line. "Ridiculous... There's no way that could have happened." Facing him again, she raised her voice to make herself clear. "No such thing happened at any concert of her's and I especially don't remember her performing with a brash bastard like you! Now, tell the truth! Just how do you know about us!?"
no subject
"You wouldn't remember, Haruka-san. You're probably from another point in time than me." He held his tongue, not letting the "But it did actually
almosthappen like that" slip. He didn't want to be a bother to Michiru-san. She had class and was a fellow musician. Seiya had had his laugh now, on Haruka's expense - he wouldn't have another on Michiru's.At Haruka's angry question, Seiya fell back into thoughts again. He remembered that plane ride... he remembered transforming, even though both Yaten and Taiki had warned him... because he wanted to protect her. Odango. But she'd been a Senshi herself - the most powerful of the Senshi on Earth, even. They'd both lied...
But that didn't matter... it didn't.
Seiya clenched his hand and looked down at his fist with a frown. He'd promised, hadn't he. But he couldn't protect her, because he had obligations elsewhere. He'd had to leave her in Uranus' and Neptune's care.
Suddenly he wanted to see her again. Odango.
Without looking up, he told the same half-lie he'd told that little girl... Sailor Saturn... and later... Michiru-san. "I- I got in a tight spot. She saved me by transforming... you guys were there as well." A pause as he saw Usagi's unbelieving eyes stare at him... at her, Sailor Star Fighter... in his mind.
"That's how I know."

Dropping her arms, the sky senshi clenched her fist and gave a sharp frown as she heard further. That damn Sailor moon. She didn't know why she was there in the first place considering it was probably Odango's own doing for sticking her nose into everything again. But, if it's true, to carelessly transform in front of a classmate was outrageous; though she had a feeling Michiru would have convinced her in doing it as well. At least now. According to her partner, the talismans have been found, the holy grail had appeared, and the Mess- no, Sailor moon had saved the world from the Silence. Haruka really didn't know what to think or plan anymore.
However, there was still one thing that somehow bothered her. Walking up to Seiya, Haruka held out a hand for the other to take as she calmly worded her sentence. "Let's make it official then... I'm Tenou Haruka... Nice to meet-" Making a fist, she quickly aimed for his face.
no subject
"I'm Seiya Kou, nice t..." Meeting her eyes, though, Seiya knew even before she fisted her hand and aimed a blow at his face that she wasn't going to shake his hand in proper greeting. Her intention shifted from civil to murderous in seconds.
His reaction was instinctive. Fighter's reflexes weren't lost to Seiya, not even in her present form. Raising his arm in a parade, pushing Haruka's hand out of the way and catching her wrist so she couldn't attack again, he found the two of them inches apart, his breathing suddenly sped up.
She was strong. Even when she wasn't in her Senshi form... she was strong.
Not that it should surprise him, but sometimes his careless arrogance made even him forget to fully appreciate the strength of his foes.
"Nice greeting, huh?" he repeated his own words from their first meeting - a meeting this Haruka had no way of recalling. Letting go of her hand, he stepped back, out of range. He wouldn't want to be within range if her anger was more aggressive this time around. Looking her up and down, Seiya placed his hands on his hips, no able to keep his smirk at bay. Okay, so call him stupid. He needed to say it. "You're pretty strong... for a girl. Uranus."
Stupid Senshi with her stupid ideas about duty. At least Odango wasn't here to get between them. With Usagi around it was just that tad less inviting to have a full go at Tenou Haruka.

Drawing her hand back with the release, the blonde took note of his tone. Besides the mockery of being strong for a girl, there was something about it that she didn't particularly like. The way he spoke was as if they've known each other much longer than she had anticipated, besides that one 'possible' incident with Michiru. She didn't like how things weren't under her control. She needed to find out just how much he knew or possibly who he really is.
"Boy. Girl. Does it all matter...? Hmph. Besides... I'm more curious about you." A snarky reply escapes her with a shrug of her shoulder. "Let's find out... shall we?" With that said, she dashes forward towards Seiya with an attempt to sweep his feet below.

So, she was picking a fight, was she? Fine with him, he wouldn't hold back just because she was a girl and he wasn't... in this form. His secrets were his own and he would like to keep it that way, even if he had to beat the living daylights out of one Tenou Haruka to do so...
Smirking, he made ready to dash forward, but in the back of his mind, Odango's voice resounded, her big blue eyes and this tangible innocence that had always attracted him so clear before his eyes that for a moment he felt sure she was actually there.
"Can we be friends with someone who came from somewhere far away? Can't we work together?" Wasn't that what she'd asked him after Fighter's first encounter with Uranus. He'd assured her it was no problem, that he, Seiya, himself came from a country far away and... they were friends, weren't they? Her eyes had, for just one moment, lost that sadness when he assured her it wasn't a problem...
Seiya wouldn't be the one to put that feeling of sadness back in her gaze. Being sad didn't suit Odango. She deserved much more than that. Letting his hands fall to his sides, he straightened up.
"I'm not your enemy, Haruka-san." His voice softened at those words, Odango's desperate eyes finally fading from his mind. Cocking his head, he lowered his hands and crossed his arms over his chest. "If you want to know, why don't you ask?" Smiling, he shrugged. "I'm an idol, I'm used to that kind of interest, you know."

Placing one hand onto her hip, she blankly stared at him before slowly breaking into a smirk. "Not... your enemy, huh? Hmph. I didn't know idols had enough brains to talk things out. Well, then Seiya Kou. Care to share a little more of your 'past'?" she remarked. Perhaps a clue can be found in his answer about... him...?
About... Michiru? Is that what's mostly concerning her? But why? Why was the thought of Michiru and this guy so irritating? She silently scolded herself to stay focused. This man knows who she is. She needed to know something more about him as well.

This Haruka really didn't know anything about him. Like the rest of the City. It was difficult getting used to just being plain Seiya and not top idol Seiya Kou. But as long as he could send out his call... it didn't matter... did it?
No...
"Well, if you'd been from my time, you wouldn't have to ask, Haruka-san," he started, sending a teasing smirk in her direction. "I was a big idol back in Japan. Me and the two others, Taiki and Yaten. Everybody knew who we were, knew where we came from..."
Seiya fell silent for a second, eyes not seeing Haruka, but past her, to the planet of Kinmoku and his Princess, fleeing from Galaxia. If Galaxia came here... or came to Earth... Haruka and the other Senshi wouldn't stand a chance... not without Princess Kakyuu.
Maybe... maybe he should reveal the truth... Seiya could almost hear Yaten yell at him not to be an idiot and almost feel Taiki's cold, stern stare burn in his mind. But...
If it could save her...
Odango...Fixing his attention on Haruka again, he decided against it. She hadn't wanted to cooperate with Fighter back then, had Uranus. Not like Moon. There was nothing that convinced him she would do it now.
He couldn't risk it.
"We aren't originally from Japan, though," he continued, yawning to emphasis how much telling the story bored him, "we're from a country far away." He held his tongue and managed not to say: But we had to escape... Continuing quickly to cover up his little thinking pause, Seiya closed his eyes and leaned back his head. "But after some roaming about, we ended up in Japan and became stars. The end."
Forcing a innocent smile on his lips, he opened one eye to gaze at Haruka.
Had she bought it?

The only things left were for him to keep his mouth shut of their identity and also...
Haruka dropped her arms to either side and proudly stood as she gave her warning. "Interesting story... Well either way, as long as you keep your mouth shut we won't have a problem, Seiya Kou-kun..." Turning around and walking away a bit, the blonde stopped and glanced back over her shoulder before adding something else. "Also... stay away from Michiru. Your advances aren't welcomed. Put your hands on her and I'll make you regret it..." With that said she disappeared into the distance.
