Order
When; Morning after Ran's fight
Rating; PG13
Characters; Sands (
blind_shot and Ran (
10thdiv_haineko)
Summary; Sands is watching over his hurt body guard pretending she needs it.
Log; just don't know when to lay down and give it a rest. Two of these people are in Ran's apartment.
Sands comes in from his smoke break, walking into the living room and cocking an ear for the woman he had been guarding over all night. She seems more tired then injured to him but still he refused to sleep in case she woke up needing him.
Except for maybe a few moments when he crawled into bed with her. Not holding her too close in case it would have woken her up, instead he lay down with one hand resting on her side.
He might have slept then some but it's so hard to tell when you're always in the dark.
He makes his way back to the bedroom to scold her for getting up.
"Rangiku, bed! Now. That's an order." He tries.

"I might try and talk to taichou soon... see what he thinks."
no subject
"Who's Taichou?"
He turns his head away and down, taking off his sunglasses. Tying the blindfold on so he can relax without the glasses falling off, his mess of hair is shoved out of the way to get it on.

He would love to throw a fit about this captain. Pull rank and insist she worked for him. But this is her original team. If the cia came here he would throw himself at their feet and start licking.
"I understand." He will be so pouty about this when alone.
"Can I meet him?"
no subject
After she stops laughing enough to regain some breath, she murmurs, "I'm not sure that would be a good idea... you'll hate each other."
no subject
"Don't be silly." The arm under her curls back up to play with her hair as his other rests on her hip.
"Of course I'll hate him. I still want to meet him. What's he like?"
no subject
"Ahhh... he's very serious, not much of a sense of humor, quite young, and extremely loyal to his friends. He likes to yell at me when I don't do my paperwork."
no subject
"Jimmy Olsen type then. Fancy himself your little brother at times?"

The towel around her has been slowly loosening as they've talked, the twist holding it closed finally slipping free and allowing the material to part. She doesn't really care, though. She's never been shy and she's not about to start.
"He's a good kid, no matter how harsh he might seem. He cares so deeply for his subordinates and his friends. I almost wish he'd stayed back in Seireitei, rather than be stuck here. Seeing the things this City does to everyone will bother him a good deal."
no subject
"What is the city doing to us, Ran?"
He wants to ask what the city is doing her her personally but he's trying to have a conversation instead of his usual trading of questions.

Without thought, she nuzzles against his neck, still purring very quietly.
no subject
"I uhh.. guess I just found out why the city handed you a kitty costume. Because that- that is a great thing you're doin right there."
no subject
"You know... I never got rid of the costume," she murmurs, lips brushing against his neck as she spoke.
no subject
"I thought you didn't like it."
no subject
She presses a cautious kiss to his neck, then pauses to see his reaction.

His fingers trace the word 'cigarette', getting to the second t as she kisses him.
There's a hesitation there but soon his fingers complete the last letter, ending at her tailbone.
"If I die in my own world you couldn't come could you?"
no subject
"... I don't know, but I'd try. If you still wanted me there."
no subject
"What's wrong? Because I think it's the towel."
When she moves enough for him to get it out from under her he tosses the offending thing on the floor.
"I saved you. That bath towel will never bother you again. I kicked that towel's ass." Reaching past her he grabs the blanket covering her with that instead.
no subject
"No tickling. Ever. Not even if you saved me from evil towels."
no subject
Also it woke her up a little. Sands really is selfish enough to deny her sleep. These nights he stays over with her are the only things in the city besides drugs that make him feel good.
"While I'm thinking of a really clever excuse to take off my own clothes-"
And here is the point where he tries to surprise her with a personal question that comes out of nowhere. So far tonight he's been able to keep himself from doing it. He'd hate to just fuck that all up.
"-Can I ask you something?"
no subject
"... I suppose, if you want."
no subject
"Is Jan in love with you?"
no subject
"You're joking, right? I mean, you should really be asking him that, don't you think? We're friends and if he's in love with me, I haven't even noticed."
no subject
"He suddenly hates me. He turned down my offer of blood and sex. He wont talk to me without finding some reason to slip in the words 'stop fucking with Ran's head' or 'don't hurt her'. He's aggressively annoyed at everything I do with you. It sounds like love to me."
The hand drops to her lower back.
"I'm just saying- you can't trust Jan when it comes to me right now. He's insanely jealous. And you might want to watch out for little cartoon hearts in his eyes."
no subject
"He's had plenty of chances to make a move if he was going to and he hasn't. Hell, I've even been naked around him. He didn't seem impressed."
The pout is evident in her voice.
