Belated Log!
When; Think back.. back! To the milkshake water curse
Rating; Probably PG-13 to be safe.
Characters; Michiru, Haruka
Summary; It's a date, but it's not. Time for serious talks along a very whimsical beach.
Log; Walking along the beach with Haruka had always been one of Michiru's favorite things to do. What's more, thanks to their duties as sailor senshi, it had often been a rare event, and thus all the more special. But today the magic wasn't there. The wind didn't carry gentle, playful breezes. Instead it felt especially dry and cold. And there were no soft whispers of the waves upon the shore, only the crinkling sound of sloshing ice particles from the milkshake sea the water had become.
Changed. Like I've changed as well. And Haruka....
But that wasn't really accurate. Haruka hadn't changed at all. That, in fact, was part of the problem. She hadn't realized how much Haruka had matured in her time, how much difference such a seemingly small time could make. A shiver came over her that had nothing to do with the cold. Could it be that if Haruka hadn't grown in her own time, she would have done this in her world as well? Was she really that kind of person?
She looked out at the strange milkshake swells, as if asking it to help give her a way to touch on the subjects she wanted. But of course, it didn't answer back. She wasn't the Soldier of Milkshakes after all.
"It's not as picturesque today, is it?"

"It's not as picturesque today, is it?"

Spotting the beauty by the beach, she weakly smiled at her and simply greeted with a "Hey..." as she approached her. What else can she say? Michiru was always breath taking no matter what scenery she was surrounded by. Quietly, she decided to stare off into the strange milky body of water until the silence had been broken. "Ha ha... It's definitely not something I'm used to seeing. Milkshake ocean, huh? It sounds like something Odango would like." she softly chortled to the thought of the girl drooling over it. Glancing towards Michiru, the blonde's smile faltered a little as she stared at her. Her assumptions were right. There was something different about Michiru. Perhaps it was the time difference she had spoken about. But even so, that face. She looked more troubled than anything.
Was it about Hotaru again? Haruka had been trying to fit in, in her own way; to get used to the idea. But couldn't she understand that it was just all too much to accept at once? Lightly she sighed and opened the subject. "And? What did you need to speak to me about, Michiru?"

It was still true, what she'd said that day. Even now, she winced inwardly, picking up on every bit of Haruka's hurt and troubled mind. And it hurt her as well. She almost gave up right then, almost threw herself into Haruka's arms. Almost sobbed out every bit of guilt and pain into that strong embrace as she sputtered out the truth and begged forgiveness in a display of emotions only this woman could pull from her.
Almost.
Shame, of all things, kept her silent. She could pretend it was concern for Utena's safety, or paint Haruka as a poor partner, but she knew the truth of the matter, and it only made things worse. And still....
"How are you and Hotaru getting along?"

Michiru was still worried about that. But her, a father? That only made the blonde laugh inside. She was no father material but a mere child herself; trying to find who she really is and what she wants. Besides, Michiru claiming that the wind senshi was the father only meant...
Just how much does she care for her? Hmph. That was rhetorical, considering she threw her life away for her... Well almost. But love? Was it out of the act of love? Michiru was her safety net. She was and still is the only one who understands her well. Her touches so soft and gentle and the feel of the beauty in her arms made her forget about the world. Haruka truly had never deeply thought about it before. Their mission was her sole purpose of moving forward. Now what?
[[ooc: Stalker much? *SHOT* lolol =>W<=;; ♥ you~ ]]

"I know it must be hard for you." she spoke softly, gladly latching onto this topic instead of the one she knew she would have to face one day. "Back then, we hadn't really been able to focus on each other, had we?" A half smile brushed the violinist's face "Much less any ideas of a family."
There was no way to avoid it the way the words sounded. As if Michiru resented no having the Haruka of her time there. She wished she could add on that she still loved the Haruka with her now... but then, this Haruka might find that truth too frightening. She might run from the feeling, like she'd tried to run when they first met.
[ooc: I know right? xD I always figured it was because Michi knew the direct approach would be epic fail with free-spirit Haruka. Like.... going bird watching and hoping the birds will come visit instead of trying to catch one... or something xD ]

"You are an honest person. And you don't depend on anyone."
That was what she had once said to her. How was it that Michiru knew more about her than she would? Till this day, Haruka wasn't convinced. Even now, she felt as though she was running. She was aware of the warm gentle feelings inside of her when she thought of her partner. How she wanted to just touch and hold her. But no. She was running away from the conjured feelings that more or less scared her. Just how much...
She had to know. Raising her hand, she gently caressed the woman's cheek with the back of her fingers. She slowly cupped her cheek and softly spoke, almost in a whisper, as she narrowed her eyes. "Do you love me, Michiru?"
[[ooc: El gasp~! The L word!! *shot* LOLOL aaa true true~ =>W<=;;; You got a point there~]]

And so it ended up being Michiru who stood a little stunned, surprised by the caress and the serious tone in her partner's voice. She closed her eyes and a million different ways to say the same thing flitted through her mind, none taking hold for long, like snowflakes on a breeze. Haruka's touch... the simple warmth of it... drove away all troubles.
She lifted a hand to touch Haruka's shoulder before gazing into those intense teal eyes "Of course..." Simple words spoken in rich, blossoming tones, denoting joy, contentment, completeness, desire... sadness. Guilt.
She attempted a teasing smile "You never wanted to say it very often."

It was an odd judgment to make considering she was basing everything off of what Michiru is telling her. But it reassured her that the feelings she's having aren't meant for nothing. That there is something genuine about it.
The blonde let out a small cough before answering her partner. "W-Well that's... You know..." She was far too embarrassed to make a come back to that remark. Softly smiling after making a recovery, Haruka placed a hand onto Michiru's on her shoulder. "I'm glad you do, Michiru."

What right had she, to tell Haruka that her future self had managed to open up so much, when she seemed so ready to take it for granted? She looked back out at the strange, unnatural sea. "Gomen ne, Haruka. Even if I come from a future time, I shouldn't try to tell you what you become or who you will get along with. There are too many possibilities after all..."

Miming the senshi of the sea, Haruka stared out at the milky water and calmly replied with a slight shrug, making attempts to make the other feel better. "Ha ha ha. Why be now? It's nothing new." Waiting a slight pause and giving a light squeeze of her hand, she continued as she turned her head back towards her with a gentle smile. "Besides... Your future self isn't bad at all, Michiru... Placing my life in your hands doesn't sound half bad..."

"Still, I shouldn't be trying to insist you be 'Haruka-papa' so readily." She looked up as a flock of seagulls flew by, fruitlessly searching for fish in the sloshing waves. "Hotaru and you always got along though, so I know it would make her happy." She chuckled a bit at her memories "You and Setsuna-san used to argue about when to discipline her, and when her playtime was up."

And Setsuna. To think that Sailor Pluto was the one with the last talisman. Everything boggled Haruka's mind. From hearing what they used to do, she imagined her to be somewhat strict and stubborn, yet something told her, she must have also been well respected and dedicated to her work. The three... no, four outer senshis under one roof. It sounded like a story that would come out of a fairy tale. Something Haruka wouldn't have imagined happening in a million years. "Ha ha, she seems like quite the character."
Lightly sighing, she looked up at the sky as she quietly mumbled. "Ha ha... Haruka...papa, huh?" Abruptly stopping and pulling Michiru back towards her and slightly into her arms, her soft spoken words sincerely thanked and scolded her at the same time. "I'm pretty sure I've said it already but... I wanted to say thank you, for trying to save my life back then and to never push yourself like that again. This time I'm saying it for me and not to accomplish any mission... I want you to live as much as you want me to so..."

Tucking a bit of her hair behind her ear, she pretended to focus her eyes on the surf as she listened to Haruka still, gaze softening as she caught the barely audible mumble.
The move was so abrupt that Michiru really didn't have much time to do anything but go along with it. She stared at her partner as the blond spoke, then smiled, and this time actually let herself stroke Haruka's hair "You risked yourself for me as well, remember? Anyway... it didn't bother me at all to do it... because it was you I was pushing myself for..."
Which, of course, was precisely why she wasn't going to promise to never do the same again.

Placing her hand over Michiru's, she slowly guided it towards her soft lips, turning her head simultaneously to meet it half way. Haruka sensually kissed the palm of her hand while keeping her eyes locked on the beauty in front of her. What more could she possibly ask for? She was finally a part of her world as she always wanted to be.
"Michiru..." A low husky voice calling to her, she couldn't help but want to steal a kiss at this very moment. She patiently waited to see whether the hint was enough to convey how she felt and what she wanted.
