Log;

The day had gone from generally alright, to bad, to worse, to just plain suck. Doumeki did not want to think about it right now, and the fight from before left his nerves slightly frazzled. It was a sensation he didn't like, as he stalked off toward the archery range, silently, long legs eating up distance as he put space between him and Rosette and Ishida.

"It's your business in the end, I suppose," he muttered, removing his glasses to clean them with an edge of his shirt with a sigh.

"....yeah well," he trailed off, replacing his glasses and adjusting them before shrugging with his back to the archer. What else was there to say? They were stuck here. Indefinitely. He had missed a year of his not-quite-a-friend-but-definitely-something's life. He'd missed a year in the continuum of Yuuko's life while somehow being here.

Well not remembering wasn't the same as not being a part of it but it still felt bizarre. And he did not like it, at all.

"You've been living with Yuuko-san," he noted. That was weird too.

"Is she charging you for your stay?" he asked bluntly as ever, not meaning anything insulting toward Yuuko, but curious for a justified set of reasons.

"Ah, right..." he said and tossed a look over his shoulder at Doumeki, some expression he wasn't even sure what it was...just a look. "Well, I better get back..." he excused himself, even though it was all but unnecessary. Dinner to make, but it wouldn't take long, cleaning to do, but he would have however long to do that as well.

If he felt a little unwell, he blamed it on transition, not really connecting it to how he'd been feeling in the 'normal' world, even though he probably should have.

He didn't bother to wait before starting to walk away.

Nothing had gotten into Watanuki, per se, but he was unsettled by this different 'world' they were all dropped into and even more unsettled by two of the most prominent people in his life apparently having been absent from it for a year. It shouldn't have rattled him this much, normally would not have, but he was tired....and much as he hated to acknowledge it at this moment, not entirely well. Like hell if he'd be saying that of course though. He was cranky often enough and he knew it. Let them chalk it up to that.

...the movement behind and to the side of him alerted him to the archer's following of him but all that earned was a rough exhale--not a sigh quite but almost, something more frustrated. What did he want?

Then he rolled his eyes.

"I know how to get back on my own."

Irked at being treated, what he felt, was like a child, Watanuki did not help his case any by trying to unsuccessfully fight back a slight sulk as he walked a bit faster.

"So, you don't have to go at the same time," he pointed out, and if there was a slight flinch or twitch or the like, well, he disregarded it and hoped stupid Doumeki would too.

"Oh," he said, non-committal at least, perturbed at most...walking still, and faster because he's so tired suddenly and it's a little familiar...not unlike the exhaustion that seemed to keep befalling him before he came here...but then if Sakura-hime was here, who would he see in that 'dream' world?

A few faces came to mind but this wasn't the time...

He bit his tongue and continued on, if it seemed like he wasn't all there, well, he wasn't.

He left Kohane-chan. It comes down, in immediate part, to that burden...not that Kohane-chan was ever or ever will be a burden...but the fact remains he's gone and she's there and he can do nothing about it.

His guilt has always been a problem, it makes itself horribly present now though and he has already sworn to himself, at least, he'll make up for it.

He's got so many things to make up for already of course.

Doumeki seemed to be nearer than he should be, or was that his perspective? It wasn't really something he wanted to concentrate on anyway...instead there was the matter of stumbling. To his defense, he did not quite fall.

He knows if he pulled away he'd just fall at this point, but to just submit to being helped feels so pathetic. Why is it always him?

If he could say something completely, it would be: just leave me alone. Instead he'll have to settle for trying to push the help away even as he is vaguely aware that he's leaning more heavily on said help now...it's not his choice.

Maybe that's what makes it so difficult though.

Back home, he would simply slip into unconsciousness by now but here he's gritting his teeth to pull himself upright and fuels more of that energy into pulling away.....and then he starts walking again, slowly.

"If I knew, I would tell you," he forces out. "I don't know ... though."

"Why don't you just---" but he doesn't get to finish. He swears internally because he can see Yuuko-san's shop through his naueseated, hazy vision. It's very close.

It's hard to breathe. Is the dream world real? Sakura-hime is real. But then so is Doumeki and he's no dream.

There isn't even anything in his way to blame tripping on as an excuse but he feels himself falling. If Sakura-hime is here.....who will he see in the darkness?

...maybe no one.

It's, privately, a frightening thought.
