Log;

Night. Sweet, sweet night. Alessa felt at peace for once, standing on the steps of the cathedral The snow fell slowly and silently in rivulets, and she took it in. Silence....snow covering everything like the ash back home. Home...what a funny word, she thought. Silent Hill wasn't home so much as it was Alessa. She wondered how it was faring without her to nurture it.

She sat on a stone step, and looked up at the sky. Stars twinkled overhead, and the moon gazed down coldly. 'Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight,' she began, the old nursery rhyme slipping off of her tongue. 'Wish I may, wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight. I wish...'

She paused. What did she wish for? She wasn't sure. She used to be, but...not anymore.

Snow was something new to her. It did snow in the mountains where her orphanage was located but she had not been allowed to come out and play, always ridiculed by her peers or suffering high fevers.

This snow, this cold, looked like fun.

She was not even bothered by all the cheerfulness of snowball fights and giddy excitement anymore. There was no envy, not like before, that left a relieving peace inside her tormented spirit.

Clothed with a green sweater, black trousers and a red hat with matching gloves, Lucy exited the Cathedral with extreme care to walk on the slippery floor. The least she wanted to do was trip and hit her head. Nyuu wasn’t going to have fun now, it was her turn.

“Alessa,” Lucy greeted the younger-looking girl with a smile. She rubbed her gloved hands together and watched with fascination as her warm breathing turned into steam. “You said something about snow angels?”

Lucy felt her cheeks burned in embarrassment when Alessa asked that question. She hated to feel so damned ignorant in these things. At least she could take care of herself, unlike Nyuu.

“N-No,” she admitted, casting her look down then lifted her chin, shaking that pathetic feeling away. “But you do. So if you tell me, I can do it too.”

She felt the mental tug, red eyes widening slightly. She did not know what was it but Nyuu and her active diclonius side also sensed it.

“So uhmm, start?” She looked around for her Guardian. It wasn’t a pleasant looking fellow but Lucy did not mind him around as much. Must be for the same reason she liked Rosiel.

Lucy followed Alessa, a bit more relaxed than she would usually act around people. The City had ruined her elaborated defenses. If she were to act like this in her world, she would not survive the weekend.

Nor would the ones she chose to defend.

“Are you worried about wandering about without your guardian?” asked Lucy, reluctantly copying the other girl’s motions, laying down on her back. It was soft and cold to stay there and the sky looked dazzling.

The frost bit her ears but she did not feel it as unpleasant. In her imprisonment, they had tested extreme temperature on her system and she could resist that low with ease.

It wasn't obvious at first. Every fifth or sixth snowflake to alight uponthat particular spot of white was red. A dark shade of red, that didn't seem to meld with it's brethren into the collective white. Slowly, one by one, they built upon the next, and the frequency increased. Suddenly, the red snow poured from the sky, forming a horrendous, tall heap, that slowly began to change form as the sky, within about a 50-meter radius only, darkened.

When all had fallen black, the cawing birds having fled, the monster stood upon the slow, gentle bits of white drifting past his bloodied frame.

Sheishere. SHE LEFT ME Sheishere NO SHE LEFT ME A JUDGE NEEDS A JURY. I HAVE A NEW JURY.

Lucy gave a light shrug at her first explanation. “Uncle Rosiel asked me to look after you,” she pointed out simply. “I will protect you, Alessa, if that worth anything to you.” She recalled she had said the same words when she was young.

“I’m a powerful magician. I’ll keep us both safe! Promise!”

But that girl died, she had been killed when those bastards tried to capture Lucy. She could not forgive herself from being so weak. After that, she killed without hesitation on sight, before they would harm her or the people she liked.

Open my legs and arms, Lucy thought, closing her eyes. “Okay.” She extended her arms – all of them even the vectors- mimicking Alessa’s motions. It was relaxing, her thoughts drifted from a childhood she couldn’t enjoy for long but that was interrupted, she caught the smell of dried blood in the fresh breeze.

“Your guardian?”

The dark awareness washed over the two girls, as every horrendous peice of the mind beneath the helmet studied them. The one with Her seemed formidable enough - and innocent. Neither could be killed. Thus, the Great Knife stayed at his side. As usual, he didn't speak a word, but his thoughts traveled on the thousand tongues of darkness.

Why did you leave me?

“Thanks but I can do it,” Lucy assured Alessa with a smirk, declining her aid to stand up alone. She rose with a powerful jump, as if invisible arms had impulsed her frail body to the air above. Smoothly, she landed beside the younger-looking girl, beholding their snow angels with a bit of childish pride.

The one she did looked to have more than a pair of “wings” and were rather long - her vectors doing no mistake.

“I’ll stay,” proclaimed Lucy, crossing her arms, unaffected by the way her clothes and hair were covered with snow. “I’m not shy to violence.”

Slowly, both white, grisly hands wrapped around the handle of the massive weapon, as the Patient stumbled into view. Slowly, he brought the intstrument into the air, and with a great whooshing of displaced air, and a horrible rending, the Paitent's head lay on the ground, writhing. Not yet finished, he rammed the great blade into the demon's stomach, then hoisted the knife into the air. Slowly, preceeded by the bubbling black acid, the monster slide down the blade like a kabob. It was then that one of the white hands gripped the dead patient's ankle, and pulled, tearing the appendage off with a bloody spray. He stabbed the knife, with the patient still upon it, into the snow, and took the limb in both hands. Slowly, he began smearing the crimson across the snow, where it hissed and bubbled.

After a moment of this grisly art form, he stopped, standing above the crimson writing of the words "Order me?"

Lucy watched impassibly as Pyramid Head killed the other demon, how prettily the blood looked in the snow. She liked the shade of red but did not take as pleasure on a killing that wasn’t a human being. It did not smell the same or feel the same.

Then Alessa started her outburst towards the demon. She understood the girl’s frustration but lacked a strong empathy to develop compassion and pity (Nyuu had plenty of those, not Lucy).

Her insult to her ‘uncle’ made the diclonius frown and quickly tried to point out: “Rosiel is…” Pausing, Lucy re-thought her statement. Wait, Rosiel was deranged. But so were they and even herself. “He was brought by this place, Alessa. It’s not his fault. I didn’t ask to be taken here either.” But she was glad to have come.

Alessa was crying. Lucy was at loss. The weeping irritated her but felt no urge to harm this one like she would do in other occasions with very different people. Therefore, she did something that she believed Nyuu would do in her place. Picking up snow with one of her vectors, she hurled it on Alessa’s face as gently as she could.

“This is called snowball fight, right?” she smirked, challengingly.

As soon as the strange girl hurled the snowball, the monster's helmet turned towards her. The demonic conciousness was confused. The hostile action had been done in innocense. He beheld his master for a moment, then reached down, his big hand closing around the dismembered head of the patient. With a mighty heave, he hurled the object at Lucy, doing his best to imitate her action.

The invisible vectors caught the head threw into her direction and crushed it with ease. Lucy shook her head, picking up the snow and forming a ball as example for the demon to mimic. “With this. With snow,” she insisted, hurling that ball into Pyramid Head’s direction.

She glanced at Alessa next, shrugging at the blood statement. “I told you, I don’t mind blood. I have been bathed with blood often.” The silence came next and Lucy pretended obliviousness. Obviously there was a connection, an unspoken link between those two she did not understand but it was there. That was not her business anyways.

With the loud groan of aged steel, the helmet pointed towards the sky, as if seeking divine advice. After a few moments, the black mind seemed to have found what it wanted, and faced Alessa once more. With the dismembered leg, he hastily slathered his answer across the snow, before throwing it aside.

Yes

The large white hands gripped the handle of the Great Knife once more as he prepared to finalize the blood oath.
