Log: Incomplete
When: Wednesday [11-5]
Rating: PG-ish
Characters: Rain
livingmyths, Tony Stark
morethanasuit, Mat Cauthon
bloodygoodluck
Summary: Rain comes down with a bad case of influenza.
Log:
Rain had started feeling sick sometime during the day Monday and had been feeling pretty miserable by Tuesday. Not that it had stopped her from showing up at the library to work, though she thought the Library itself might have lulled her off to sleep once or twice while she was doing some work at a desk. She hadn't slept well Tuesday night, fever dreams - nightmares, really - waking her up repeatedly. The cough and persistent headache hadn't helped either.
It took all she had to drag herself from her far too comfortable bed and get ready for work on Wednesday morning, feeling so weak she could barely dress herself. Still, work was important, so she got ready as best she could and headed off, starting a voice post on the way which was abruptly ended when she collapsed barely a hundred yards from her house.

When he arrived though he didn't see any signs of a struggle and it only took a quick glance around for him to spot her. Quickly going over to her he pressed a cool metal hand to her forehead, frowning at the fever.
"Oh Rain, sweetie," he murmured to her as he tenderly picked her up. "Why didn't you tell anyone you were sick?"

What he found there was the man who'd stunned him back during the Police curse and Rain. A very ill Rain. Swearing again, he made his way over.
He'd ignore the other man for now.
"Blood and bloody ashes. When did this happen?"

Mat was here and that was good. But he looked worried and upset.
"Just tired," she said, trying to smile for him even though she felt miserable. "But Iron Man's going to fly me to work. I'm going to be late. But don't worry, okay?"

"No, you're not going into work today," he told her, running his gauntlet fingers through her sweat matted hair. "You're sick Rain, very sick. We need to get you to a doctor so you can get better."

"Work is a bloody, flaming bad idea."

"What if we found a doctor to come here and look at you?" he asked.

"If I let you rest in your bed will you at least take something for your fever?" he asked her.

"You need to get home and in bed. A message can be delivered about work."

"Please don't fight."

"And we won't argue so long as he does what I say."

"Just rest, Rain."

"She needs a doctor," he said. "Or the very least, something for the fever."
no subject
"So go get one."

[ooc: Not sure if you two wanted some one on one time with Rain and Mat. If so, here's your chance.]

Her head was pounding and she felt bad and so stupid that Tony and Mat were having to take care of her.

And his bloody memories weren't kicking in to help him either.

It's not like she was letting go of him, though. She desperately wanted him to stay, but she was too embarrassed to say so.

He brushed her hair with his fingers. This was the best he could do for her. And he'd do it well.

She still had hold of his hand, but she let her eyes close the rest of the way, breathing still a little labored.
