Log;

Kurai had already left the Underworld. She had neglected to name a meeting place with Greed, but who could miss a Dragon, anyway? Still, she was left waiting in the snow. It wasn't nearly as windy as before, but the snow was packed high. She could hardly see the fountain anymore, and the penguins weren't nearby.

She wondered if everybody had taken them home. Not surprising. She had played a little with one yesterday, but when it's mama had chased waddled after her, she'd decided to return to her room, where it was now warmer.

Currently, she was gripping the icy edge of the fountain, staring down at her frozen reflection after brushing the snow aside. She felt so... Weird. Light headed. Cranky. Happy. Liberated.

Certainly the Fire Dragon had noticed his master's odd behavior, but there was nothing to be done about it.

"Yo babe, what's the haps?" a voice said from behind her, "You really waited for me? How sweet! I knew you liked me!"

He walked up to the icy fountain, a hand behind his back.

"So, Kurai, what prompted your little outside excursion? I thought you didn't like it out here?"

As he waited for her answer, he sauntered over to the Dragon, reaching over to attempt to pet him. Needless to say, Greed was never one to listen to the voice of caution.

"Where can I get one of these things?"

She jumped at the voice from behind her, and turned to watch just as the Fire Dragon made a threatening growl. Immediately, the girl slid in between the two of them, looking up at the much taller man with a scowl on her face as she jabbed at his chest. "Watch it! And don't say 'one of these things'. The Fire Dragon is to be feared and respected. I'm the Dragonmaster. That's why he listens to me."

Turning back around, Kurai rubbed her hand against the dragon's snout before walking around to his side and easily vaulting on. "I just wanna go riding! I don't care if it's cold. I don't like staying cooped up for long. Now get on. Geeeently." Her words were slurring a bit into each other, which might hint as to why she was being more open-minded than usual.

"Aw, your temper tantrums are adorable!"

He held out a piece of steak he had in his pocket for the dragon, set it down, and hopped on the great beast, seated just behind Kurai.

"So..." he began to slowly try and creep his hands around her waist, "I'll probably have to hold on TIGHT, ya' know? I wouldn't want to slip off this bad-boy and go splat in the center of town.

In one of his hands, the one from behind his back, he was holding a bouquet of roses.

"For the lady."

She was just about to snap about him getting too touchy-feely when she spotted the roses. Her eyes lit up, and she reached up with one hand as the dragon sniffed at the steak. Letting the Fire Dragon do what he pleased for the moment, Kurai grabbed the roses from his hand. "Wow! They're real?"

Kurai sniffed at them, then made a pleased sound at the lovely smell. With a giddy laugh, she slumped back against him. "Nobody's ever given me a bouquet before!" She recalled Mad Hatter offering her a single flower, before, though. How had she reacted? Well, not like this.

Vaguely, she was aware that she was acting different...but even knowing that it didn't seem to alarm her. With a deep breath, the young dragonmaster shook her head and leaned over to wrap her arms around the dragon's neck. That seemed signal enough for him, and he took off into the chilly air, the petals flying everywhere from the speed once they were higher up.

Greed shrugged and chuckled to himself as he saw his present scattered to the winds. At least he tried.

"So, Kurai, where'd you get him? Must take a hell of a lot of upkeep. Feeding, housing, cleaning, everything. You guys must be loaded!"

He felt the scaly texture of it's flesh, admiring the feel of it. It was just the type of steed he'd have if he were the type to have the patience for riding. Powerful, fast, and imposing.

"So what do you do, exactly?" he asked, inching his way further toward her, "I mean, you guys aren't angels, right?"

He turned his head away for a moment, watching the buildings and denizens move below them. He was surprised how many dresses he could see down, from here.

Kurai stared mournfully at the roses. Of course, all the petals weren't gone, but a lot were. Oh well. She had still appreciated the thought. When the dragon took a quick dive and turn around a building, the bouquet was ripped from her grip, flying into the air. The sudden closeness to the ground caused many skirts to flip up as well.

"He's from my world. He came here with me... And I guess you could say we're loaded. I rule Anagura. That's what I 'do'." Kurai shook her head, reaching up to grip her braid with one hand. Probably best to keep it from whipping him in the face. "I'm an Evil, if that means anything to you. Mad Hatter... Well that's none of your business! Ask him if you wanna know."

She was having trouble keeping a solid grip with her thighs. What was wrong with her? This was normally second nature for her, and now she was having to concentrate on not falling off.

"You don't seem very evil? You're way too cute!"

He was distracted momentarily by the upturned-skirts, doing a few cat-calls and whistles as they moved. He could see the quite noticeable lack of control of her motor functions. He'd dealt with more than a few drunks in his time, and this was definitely similar behavior.

"Take it easy," he said, grabbing her hips with his hands, "I think ya' might be a little tipsy. What the hell did you have recently?"

He would definitely have to ask Hattie-chan what her experience with Kurai was. And what was all this "him" business? Hattie looked and smelled like a girl to him.

"Hattie's a man? You're kidding!"

Hattie? Who the HELL was that? ...Oh. ...Oh.

"Hahah! Hattie? I can't believe you... N--no... Mad Hatter isn't a man. I just... Just when I first met him I thought he was, and It's easier for me to... Mad Hatter's...complicated. Ask him if you wanna know! Jeez! And I'm not cute, shut up!"

What did she have to drink? Something in Mad Hatter's room. She wasn't sure what it was... Was that what was affecting her? Ugh. What if it was poison?! Mad Hatter was devious after all, she knew. What if he'd had poison in there for an enemy, and then Kurai was the one to drink it?

"OH NO! I'm going to die?! I can't die from THAT! I'm a warrior! I have a country to rule! I haven't been able to help Lady Alexiel here! Oh no!" Her sudden lack of complete control made the dragon unsure of what to do, and he flapped his wings to come to a halt on a rooftop.

Twisting around, she slammed the back of a curled fist into his shoulder, yelling at the top of her lungs now. "Fix it! Find the antidote!"

"You AND Hattie are adorable. I mean it! Really! Outstanding! Beautiful! Smokin' hot! Gorgeous! Visions of Paradise!"

He lurched forward into her as the Dragon came to a sudden stop on the rooftop. He barely had any time to react as she jumped at him and pounded on him with her fist.

"Easy, easy! I don't know what you mean, antidote to what?! Chill the hell out!"

He pulled his arms in around her, trying to keep her thrashing to a minimum. Just because he could regenerate didn't mean that getting hurt was fun.

"Stop freakin' out and squirmin'! I'll let go if you promise to keep a level head and explain things!"

Kurai snarled and resisted the urge to bite down on one of his hands when he tried to stop her. She did calm down just a bit, though, and finally slumped when she ran out of energy. Sniffing, she lowered her head.

"I went into Mad Hatter's room, and he wasn't there. I got bored and was looking around, and I saw he had something to drink. It tasted weird, but I just thought it was something exotic! He likes that sort of thing! NOW I'M POISONED! That's why I'm acting weird, right?! I wonder if it's the type to kill me quickly. Will I just fall over dead? Or is it going to be painful and slow? I have to find Hatter and get the antidote!"

"Calm down!" he yelled.

"You're exhibiting signs of being DRUNK, not poisoned. Haven't you ever been drunk off your ass before? I mean, I haven't, my metabolism burns too fast, but you're probably able to though!"

He stood up on the dragon and looked around in the direction of the carnival.

"Look, it was probably alcohol you drank, or at least a derivative. I wouldn't worry about it so much. You just need some rest. Maybe sleep it off."

He took a moment to straighten out his vest and cracked his neck.

"Like I said, you shouldn't worry about it. Poison would be a lot more painful."

Kurai frowned, thinking about that. Drunk? She knew what being drunk was... But she'd never experienced it personally. And she'd even had alcohol before! When she and Arachne had been in Assiah, she'd had a taste. It had been awful, hard liquor, though. This was different...

"Oh..." If Belial was drinking alcohol, it was probably something special. Kurai was positive normal alcohol couldn't affect a Demon or an Evil, but if it came out of Belial's room... Damnit!

"Damn it! I can't believe this! I don't want to sleep it off! Leave me alone..." They weren't in the Underworld at the moment, so getting to the circus didn't seem like a fun prospect to her. Plus she didn't want Belial to know she'd gotten drunk. What if he got mad or something?

Slumping, she slid off of the Fire Dragon to pace the roof...occasionally stumbling.

Greed whistled lightly and hopped off of the Dragon, doing a flip and landing on his feet. He walked over to the now-pacing Kurai and clapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Hey, what's wrong, K? You gonna' be alright about all this? You seem kinda' lost in thought."

He managed to catch her mid-stumble.

"Take it easy, now. You're still a bit worked up. C'mon, gimme' a smile!"

He gave her his goofiest grin, which still only came off as somewhat predatory, due to the clean, sharp, oh-so-white teeth.

"You're too attractive to be looking so down."

Just as Kurai was about to punch him in the stomach for grabbing her like that, he had to go and compliment her. As she was getting older, Kurai was getting a little better at accepting compliments. She didn't freak out and stutter QUITE as much.

And she was confused. And apparently drunk? How was she supposed to be acting? She couldn't remember.

She did indeed blush, though, and the sudden heat to her cheeks only embarrassed her more. After staring down at their feet for a long while, she glanced back up to him, lips twitching into a shy, nervous smile.

Greed stood in front of her and knelt to her level. He put his vest around her, adjusting the fur collar around her neck.

"See?" he said, "Isn't it nice to smile? Things are never quite as bad as they seem."

He smiled warmly at her and tilted her head up just slightly with his hand.

"I hate seeing such visions of beauty as yourself, reduced to such a distressed state. It oughtta' be a crime, I tell ya'."

He shifted closer to her, putting his face just inches from hers.

"Of course, there's an old remedy for feeling better during a stressful period. Know what that is?"

Kurai looked down, distracted as the vest was placed around her shoulders. The fur tickled at her neck, and she glanced up just in time to see that he was surprisingly close. Feeling her chin tip up a bit, she began to feel panic rising up inside of her. What was he doing? Vaguely, she had an idea. She KNEW what this was.

But she couldn't bring herself to knock him away or back off. Instead she just stared, lips slightly parted with a sort of morbid fascination with what was happening. "Wa--what?"

"You do something involving so you don't even have to think about it..."

One of his hands rested gently on her hip as the other traced up from her neck to her ear, then gently stroked her cheek.

"...like this."

He covered the last small distance and pressed his lips strongly against hers. As he did, his lower hand crept around her thigh, coming to rest on her rear.

The touches were so all over the place and distracting that she didn't know what to do or say. It was strange...how somebody who looked so big and fierce could be so gentle. Her eyelids were starting to droop...

But the sudden moist pressure against her lips made them snap back open wide as could be, and the feeling of his hand right there made her jump a little. Before she could even THINK to properly react, a strong wind came right out of nowhere.

Funny thing was, it didn't even touch her. She could only watch, dumbfounded, as Greed was swept away. It was when she realized that he was no longer on the roof that he might be in danger.

Suddenly quick to act, she dropped to her knees and looked over the edge, yelling for her dragon to go after him. She watched, nails digging against the icy edge of the roof as the Fire Dragon jumped and dove, catching Greed by his arm just before he hit the ground. She relaxed when he flew back up to set Greed back down on the roof.

Standing up, still clutching the vest around her shoulders, she jabbed up at his chest. "Stupid! Can't even keep your footing. What kind of man are you?"

Greed was taken off-guard by the black wind, swept away before he could make any defensive action. He had caught the side of the building on the way down, using his claws to slow his descent enough for the dragon to grab him.

He certainly wasn't prepared for a certain huffy princess poking him in the chest and asking him what kind of man he was. What could he do but answer truthfully?

"A great man, of course!" he laughed loudly.

He grabbed her up in a hug, lifting her high off the ground.

"Ha ha! No problem, babe! Nothin' like that can kill me anyway!"

He calmed down and almost immediately started to nuzzle against her neck. He certainly wasn't going to let a single, freak gust of wind get in his way! He was Greed! Greed doesn't fear the wind!

"Now, where were we?"

Once again, Kurai's cheeks got bright red as she was lifted off the ground. Feeling the nuzzle against her neck almost made her melt. It was so nice... Wasn't this supposed to be bad? Wasn't she supposed to be defending her own honor? She was supposed to be mildly disgusted or something like that.

She lifted her hands to give a shove against his shoulders, but that didn't do much. He was even stronger than he looked, and that was saying a lot. "We....we were...heading back! Put me down now!"

Her words slowly registered in his brain as he was licking his way from her neck to her ear lobe. He the moved at a slower pace, stopping every now and then to speak.

"Are...you sure? I...could...definitely...make you...VERY happy."

"Your smooth...mocha-colored...skin..." he kissed her collar-bone.

"Your slim but beautiful frame..." he felt over the few curves she had.

"That cute voice of yours..." he planted a quick peck on her lips.

He managed to pull his head back and look in her eyes, his own looking slightly lust-addled and his breathing a bit heavy.

"Look, if you really want to stop, I can respect that. But I may not be able to stop if I get past a certain point, so make sure that you mean what you say."

He set her down gently.

Kurai was stricken speechless by all of the smooth compliments accompanied by the chaste touches. By the time she was set down on her feet, her legs were nearly jelly, and she was having to lean against him for support as she stared up at him with her mouth wide open.

She had been through a lot in her life. She'd gotten crushes, experienced love, had her heart broken. She'd been nearly kissed, nearly killed, and even nearly raped. She had good reason to have mixed feelings about anything to do with kissing or sex.

But never in her life had Kurai been so sweetly offered something so adult, and in a way that she could easily refuse. She was being offered a choice. Like a GROWN up. And he looked like he really wanted it, too.

Question was, what did SHE want?

"B--buh...uh...I..."

There was that wind again, and this time since she was leaning against him, it made her land right on her face. She looked up, but the dragon already knew what she was thinking, and managed to snatch Greed in his mouth before he could fly completely off of the roof. The dragon seemed tempted to let him go and see him fall, but after a moment he set him back down.

Wondering why that kept happening, she thought perhaps she needed to sit. Oh wait. She WAS sitting. Oh. Perhaps she needed to lay down.

So she did, although a little more suddenly than she would have originally planned.

"Great. Fuckin' perfect."

He sighed loudly and picked her up, and boarded the dragon, keeping her on his lap.

"So, uh, Dragon. Ya' know, uh...mush? Go? Zim-zala-bim? Abra-ca-dabra?"

"..."

"FUCKING FLY US BACK, ALREADY! I NEED TO SPEAK TO HATTIE! CIRCUS! NOW! PRONTO!"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Greed took the throw and rebounded off several nearby structures with his legs, finally touching down near Kurai.

"Real cute, beasty," he said to the dragon, "Do that again and I'll make you into a nice lizard jumpsuit set. Bitch."

He touched the side of Kurai face and tried to wake her.

"Yo, Kurai. Kurai? Hey, Kurai! HATTIE! WHERE ARE YA'?!"

[identity profile] proudbutterfly.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Kurai said she was not invited to her flight but the Princess never specified sie could not follow them. Tsk, tsk, little Highness should learn how to word her requests, otherwise demons could take advantage of her poor orders, demons like the Mad Hatter.

In her butterfly shape, she went unseen by the pair as they enjoyed their stroll together. As long it was all smiles and innocent, Belial was merely an observer but as soon Greed started to pass the line the demon had drawn in dealing with Kurai, a black wind was summoned to knock him down and ‘cool’ him down.

Good thing Kurai did not appear able to hold up Sheol liquor much longer and the dragon thought for Greed in order to return them safe to the Circus. Hatter transported hirself there, reforming to wear a black suit with fur on the turtle neck and equally fuzzy, black hat on top. Hir face, as usual, were concealed under the heavy white clown make up.

The demon sensed the dragon’s arrival and went to check, pretending curiosity and surprise. “Oh my! Your Highness!” sie exclaimed, bending down to pick up the little Princess. “Greed, dear, can you take the dragon to his wagon. I will see the Princess safe in her quarters.”

"Hold it."

He finished glaring at the dragon and turned to her.

"You know anything about why she passed out? I was also this close to having a rather pleasant liason with her when a black wind hit me. That ain't normal."

Greed is none too happy about cock-blocking, even if he doesn't know who's doing it.

[identity profile] proudbutterfly.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
It was better for him there was no liaison at all but Belial was extraordinary good in acting. Sie paused and gave a shrug. “Maybe the Princess’ unconscious or the dragon produced that,” answered Hatter, tilting hir head and watching the sleeping girl. Sie leaned down, sniffing the dragonmaster’s mouth. “Mmm. It appears that Her Highness assaulted one’s chambers and drank the liquor from Sheol. It’s a special drink, strong beyond any other. One is surprised she resisted this long awake.”

Whirling hir heels, sie added, “Thank you for bring her back safe, Greed. One will take care of her. She will awake with the world falling on her young head.”

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Ya' know, I'd like to try that alcohol, if you ha..."

Well, this certainly looked sexy.

Damn, I wouldn't mind bein' in a Kurai/Hattie sandwich!

"But I want to stay with heeeer! Can I group hug, too? It's not like I'm going to jump her in her sleep! I'm not a beast!"

"And I KNOW that didn't come from the dragon. I felt the direction of the wind. That was a directed action by another party. Somebody out there is gonna' get his cranium cracked open for messin' with me."

[identity profile] proudbutterfly.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Belial smiled fondly when Kurai did that. It was not one of her usual grins or smirks, but a more genuine gesture. With one hand, the demon held the young Princess and with the other, sie wrapped her with her cloak. It was cold outside.

Then, Hatter turned to laugh at Greed’s protest. “Put the dragon in his wagon, Greed, and then come to see us. One will place Her Majesty in bed. You could bring water; she’ll need plenty when she awakes.” Sie started to walk. “One will give you a bottle of the liquor tomorrow.” Sie looked over hir shoulder. “Well, that’s strange. It could be one of the angels… Raphael is the wielder of wind. The twins could control that element too. Or maybe was a wind of the City?”

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll question them, then. Till I get to the bottom of this."

He dodged the swiftly falling foot of the dragon.

"Stop gettin' uppity and get to your wagon!"

Greed leads the creature off and comes back a short time later with a few bottles of water.

"Back!"

[identity profile] proudbutterfly.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Belial had placed the slumbering Kurai on the bed and covered her with blankets. Sie tugged one of the roses Greed had given to the Princess behind the ear. After that, the demon had taken a seat and patiently watched the changes of the liquor in the young evil’s body.

“Thanks,” sie replied, glancing at Greed’s direction upon his arrival. “She needs to sleep. One doesn’t know the effect of the liquor of the Satans to other creatures. It may cause strange behaviors. How did she fare during that stroll?”

Belial wondered if the liquor could serve as aphrodisiac, inciting lust as did with gluttony, to drink more and more.

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
He placed the water down.

"She was shy, but receptive too. I noticed all the signs, the breathing, pupil dilation, all the little biorythms of arousal. I KNOW I could've had a mutually fun romp if that damned wind hadn't come."

[identity profile] proudbutterfly.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
The Dragon would have eaten Greed if sie did not intervene but probably would lose a tooth or two while doing so. Belial assented, placing hir hand on hir chin. “Mmm. What an unfortunate occurrence. But both live in the Circus, there will other chances,” sie commented. “The blizzard outside is caused by the deities. Who knows if they didn’t play dirty tricks on those who wanted to take the snow cheerfully?”

Next time, Kurai would most likely lash out, Belial could picture that in her mind.

“Ah, but you two had fun, wind aside?”

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2006-08-29 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yeah, lots! Very much so! I look forward to more!"
