[LOG: in-progress and truly very epic]
When; Christmas Eve, December 24th, evening
Rating; PG-13, I hope
Characters; THE GODDAMN NARUTO CASTcan't be bothered to list them all[Sakura, Rin, Obito, Shikamaru, Naruto, Neji, Tenten, Lee, Gai, Temari, Kakashi, Gaara did I forget anyone orzffffuck]
Summary; Ninjas go at it in style. A little bit of peace (?), the celebration of a 'family get-together', lots of food, and a startling lack of Christianism. Leave presents at the door
Log;
Sakura's apartment was several degrees warmer because of all the cooking that had been going on the whole day. The living room was cleaner, brighter and warmer, with a huge Christmas tree in the middle, already decorated. She had already laid her presents under it, as tradition demanded it, and was adding the finishing touches to the house. Shoving Naruto's socks under the couch, for example. Checking to see that no-one had started eating the food before the guests arrived.
Her mother would have been downright proud of her, if she could see her daughter right now. She was doing everything that the perfect wife, housewife or civillian woman. Her mother would not know, however, that she didn't do it because she felt that these activities were something women had to do, but because she was selfish, selfish, and wanted to be the one person to put a smile on everyone's faces tonight by organizing this dinner. This place allowed for maybe not much freedom, but whatever occasion arised, Sakura grasped it tightly.
All these people were like her family now. Of course she would find it her duty, her uttermost obligation, to aid in making them happy on this day. If the books had taught her anything, it was that Christmas was a day for celebrating happiness.
Content with the state of the apartment, she served herself a cup of tea, and took a seat on the couch. "Things'll be better."

He grabbed the other bag, and although he may have been shouting, it was only out of passion and disbelief! Not anger, of course.
"I'm certain you make your teammates quite weak in the knees, too! And probably all three of my students!"
no subject
All three?!
Well that made her blush red like a tomato. She snatched the bag from his hands. "Got it, blossoming beauty, so on, thank you."

Folding his hands behind his back, he looked content and anticipated her reaction to the next present. Certainly she'd appreciate it! A nice girdle, pink and laced; the perfect body-shaper at night, and he had heard she and Naruto were sharing a place, so he guessed it was a gift to him at the same time! Unless he was getting the wrong idea.
Such feminine gifts would most likely make her eternally grateful toward him! Women loved these kinds of things, unless they were Anko. Or married.
no subject
Nothing.
Nothing could've prepared her for that.
She let out a silent scream, stuffed it back into the bag, and shouted: "PERVERTED MAN!"
no subject
A confused look quickly turned to horror at the volume of her voice, and he waved his arms wildly.
"You've the wrong idea, Sakura!! I just -- isn't this what women like!?? I thought you would look good in it!!"

The bags dropped to the floor as Gai made an imaginary outline of a curvy figure with his hands, before gesturing and clutching the air.
"Not ... overweight in any sense of the word!! I just thought it was old-fashioned, conservative but steamy!! I hadn't thought this would be inappropriate in any manner, why would it be!?"

Had he somehow completely misread the entire fairer sex his entire life!? Didn't they like this stuff!? Didn't they fight over it in stores!?
"WHY WOULD IT BE A JOKE?!?! I -- what is wrong with using such a word to describe the -- WHY ARE YOU UPSET?!?"

She brought her hands to her head, gripping her hair. Thank god she was sitting. After letting out a suffered whine, she calmed herself down enough to tell him: "It's embarrassing to recieve something like this from you."

"I thought you and I had a special and immutable bond after what we've been through, and that perhaps there could be something special between us! I know this intense admiration cannot be only on my side, and I thought that if you could wear that ..." He trailed off, running a hand through his bangs, letting them fall through his fingers. Sparkling at her a bit.

Was he hitting on her? Was he seriously hitting on her? Was this a love confession of sorts? Or what? She never knew with this man, but. Better safe than sorry.
"Gai-san, please stop. And get out of my bedroom. Please"

However, the girl did not seem too keen on any of this! Maybe it was purely business, and she really just had wanted to hone her speed and incorporate it into taijutsu?
He almost protested about having two bags left -- the boots and gloves he had purchased in one bag, and of course a jumpsuit in the other. But she already seemed to hate his other two presents!
no subject
An absolutely heartbroken look appeared on his face; it wasn't as if he was unused to rejection, but to have his presents hated so bluntly and honestly in front of him -- and for Sakura to reject his friendship, and send him on his way.
Why.
He hadn't felt this type of heartbreak since he was in the springtime of his youth and tried the whole dating thing.
He hurried over to the door. In Gai's head, there was dramatic music playing, sad tiny violins, and some crashing waves.
no subject
Most of the times.
Her temper subdued, she took a deep breath, and spoke. "Look, I do not deny that it is very pretty. I also don't deny that it'll probably gather up dust, because I'm...it'snotmystyle. However. However... if what you are trying to say is..." Another deep breath, spat it all out: "I am your student and while I appreciate you as a person and all that I am very sorry to tell you that I'm not interested in you romantically so don't take it the wrong way if I reacted badly to this gift, thank you for it, and I'm sorry again."
no subject
Romantic interest? Just where on earth was this girl picking up such signals from? He'd never indicated anything of that sort! Perhaps it was her own confused projection of feelings?
He finally turned to face her, an incredulous expression on his features.
"What!? Romantic interest! I have nothing of the sort, Sakura! Besides, you're not my type!" The last part could have been a lie, but it was more convincing.
no subject
What. She'd misinterpreted? She'd just 'rejected' false confessions? This was even worse than the girdle! This was humiliating!
She went red, and jumped from bed as if it were burning her. "Well it's your fault with all your failed explanations, dammit! If you hadn't acted out like such a freak, even after giving me all these presents that men give their women or--whatever, it's all your fault!" she accused, pointing her finger at his face.
"And what do you mean I'm not your type? First you buy me a girdle and call me fat and now I'm ugly, too?"
1/2
It was just too confusing! His fault?
He let out a frustrated groan, pulling on his hair, before pointing a finger back at her.

He stepped a bit closer, trying to match her tone of voice.
"And you're not my type because you're ... seventeen! Still in the springtime of youth! There'd be too much --" He put his finger down, because he recalled she was a woman, and it was not very polite to poke at a woman's chest in anger.
"You are incredibly attractive, and I could go on and on about your features to reassure you in my utter sincerity, but it would just lead to you ACTING OUT again!!"
no subject
Not that he's her type or anything, but it's still...kind of cool...to hear that from a male specimen.
She blinked, clearing off her mind, then smiled prettily up at him. "Okay, no need to get mad over nothing," she said, waving her hand dissmissively. Like she hadn't overreacted herself just minutes before.
Heheheh, incredibly attractive~ hell yeah~!

"Mad over ... nothing? I -- I wasn't mad!" He frowned, brows furrowed in obvious
