Log;

It was hard to miss the big blue house, set on the beach just behind the dunes. Jack hadn't exactly been subtle with that blue paint after all.

Since he was expecting Mickey, Jack had the doors open as he puttered about on the main level, carrying a mug of coffee from the kitchen to the sofa where he'd settled to read for a bit. At least until Mickey got there.

Coming from the complete opposite side of the City, Mickey had finally reached the lighthouse. Jack hadn't mentioned to him that the big house close to it would be blue.

Mickey entered the house through the already open doors, closed said doors and looked around.

"Hello?" he called out as he walked further into the house.

Mickey sighed, slightly irritated by hearing that nickname again. He was going to have to come up with a comeback on that later.

Nevertheless, he smiled when he saw Jack.

"Looks nice," he said about the house. "Big and bright. So where's the working space then?"

Mickey took his gloves off and followed Jack.

"Good," he answered Jack's question. "I've decided to stay at Martha's after all, instead of finding a place of my own. She's a good housemate and there's plenty of room. I haven't experienced any of those curses yet myself, so we'll see about that."

"W-Wait, I will get that code too, right?" Mickey asked upon entering the Mini-Hub. "I mean, once I start working here."

Mickey examined his new surroundings.

"Wow, this is... very different from the other part of the house."

Interaction for later on?

Home from work - a little session Underground for Artemis - Ianto hung up his coat and tucked away his stun-gloves on charge.

He then made his way to put the blood samples in cold storage, making no attempt to hide them.

Back to the kitchen then, and his coffee machine. "Coffee, anyone?" he called to the house, unsure of who was around.

Oh great, they got to the gun part.

"So what kind of gun will I get?" Mickey asked eagerly.

Later on?

Mickey was still on his tour through the building when he heard the call coming from nearby.

Mickey was told by Jack that Ianto made the best coffee in the entire universe, so he figured that must have been him.

"Yeah, I'd like some, please," he called back.

Later on!

Ah, Ianto thought that must be Mickey.

"It'll be ready in a few," he called back, switching his machine on.

"Isn't that the best part of fighting the bad guys?" Mickey answered ecstatically. "Using gadgets not many other people use."

Mickey's gaze averted, it looked as if he were daydreaming.

"I'd prefer a blaster. A big one."

Mickey got to the kitchen, thought that'd be as polite.

"Hey, I'm Mickey Smith," he said to Ianto and held out his hand.

They had talked before, but they hadn't met yet, so Mickey thought a proper introduction would be appropriate.

[identity profile] king-coffee.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Ianto turned, and just before he took Mickey's hand to shake, he paused.

He had definitely seen this man before. Something niggled about Torchwood One, but that wasn't possible.

But he recovered and shook the outstretched hand.

"Ah, nice to finally meet you." No, he wasn't going to introduce himself. Not yet.

Abby walked in with her German Shepherd right at her side. Shaking her black parasol off, she took her red jacket off too. She was probably one of a rare few who would wear a short skirt in this weather.

"Guys! I'm here to drop Jethro off! I have a fake date to get to so I can socialize an awkward teenager. Jethro will be good though. He'll just head to my room."

Of course, she was shouting with the assumption that someone was actually there.

"Just one cup, I have to go to work in a bit," Kyle called down the stairs in response to Ianto's question about who wanted coffee.

"Hold the sedatives though-"

He stopped short when he got to the kitchen, spying a new face.

"Oh, hello."

[identity profile] lovingmybamfgun.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Mickey wondered if Ianto realised that he'd never told him his name. It's that he already knew from Jack, else he would have asked it.

"Likewise." Mickey smiled politely.

"So what's your job at Torchwood?"

[identity profile] lovingmybamfgun.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Mickey turned around, looking at who had just entered the room. Again he held out his hand.

"Hello. Mickey Smith."

[identity profile] caf-pow-girl.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
There's her Jack! Instantly her face was full of mock seriousness.

"I don't know. You might scare him. And he's my assistant at work. Do you think you can handle yourself?"

So much for a serious look, her face melted into a grin. "I did tell him that I was buying him food too."

[identity profile] king-coffee.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
He knew, but he was waiting to see if Mickey, if ever, asked.

"Oh, I do everything that everyone else doesn't do," he said by way of explanation, hearing Kyle come down the stairs.

He was going to say something, but Mickey introduced himself first.
