Summary; Mickey drops by the Mini-Hub to talk a job
Log;
It was hard to miss the big blue house, set on the beach just behind the dunes. Jack hadn't exactly been subtle with that blue paint after all.
Since he was expecting Mickey, Jack had the doors open as he puttered about on the main level, carrying a mug of coffee from the kitchen to the sofa where he'd settled to read for a bit. At least until Mickey got there.

Log;

Mickey entered the house through the already open doors, closed said doors and looked around.
"Hello?" he called out as he walked further into the house.
no subject
"Oi!" Jack called down a level. "Up here Mickey Mouse!"
Like many beach houses, the house was built somewhat inverted with the main living areas and a couple of the bedrooms on the top floor, to take advantage of the sea side view. Jack was up on that level in the living room relaxing on a couch.
[ooc: Here is a description of what the house looks like (http://handsomejack.livejournal.com/28043.html#cutid1). :)]

Nevertheless, he smiled when he saw Jack.
"Looks nice," he said about the house. "Big and bright. So where's the working space then?"

Getting a bit stiffly to his feet, Jack put his hands in his pockets and walked towards his old friend.
"Thanks, come on. I'll show you the Lair," Jack offered, nodding back down the stairs and walking in that direction.
"How are you doing on settling in?"
no subject
"Good," he answered Jack's question. "I've decided to stay at Martha's after all, instead of finding a place of my own. She's a good housemate and there's plenty of room. I haven't experienced any of those curses yet myself, so we'll see about that."

Interaction for later on?
He then made his way to put the blood samples in cold storage, making no attempt to hide them.
Back to the kitchen then, and his coffee machine. "Coffee, anyone?" he called to the house, unsure of who was around.
Later on?
Mickey was told by Jack that Ianto made the best coffee in the entire universe, so he figured that must have been him.
"Yeah, I'd like some, please," he called back.
Later on!
"It'll be ready in a few," he called back, switching his machine on.

"Hey, I'm Mickey Smith," he said to Ianto and held out his hand.
They had talked before, but they hadn't met yet, so Mickey thought a proper introduction would be appropriate.

He had definitely seen this man before. Something niggled about Torchwood One, but that wasn't possible.
But he recovered and shook the outstretched hand.
"Ah, nice to finally meet you." No, he wasn't going to introduce himself. Not yet.

"Guys! I'm here to drop Jethro off! I have a fake date to get to so I can socialize an awkward teenager. Jethro will be good though. He'll just head to my room."
Of course, she was shouting with the assumption that someone was actually there.
no subject
"Fake date? Will that include fake dinner and can I come along and terrorize an awkward teenager?"
no subject
"I don't know. You might scare him. And he's my assistant at work. Do you think you can handle yourself?"
So much for a serious look, her face melted into a grin. "I did tell him that I was buying him food too."
no subject
Coming forward, he went down on one knee to give Jethro some rubbing on and grinned impishly up at Abby.
"I think you've already warned me away from terrorizing this lad once so I won't push it. You look absolutely a picture by the way, he should be paying for dinner."
no subject
"Besides, I have to spend my money somewhere. I mean, I have to trick Carlos and Gren into letting me pay for things. This will be a good chance."
Kneeling down, she gives Jethro a good rubbing too. "Do you want to come though?"

"Did you work for Torchwood too, back home?" Mickey started. "I mean, in your own world? I remember your voice. You helped get Earth back in its place, right? I was in the TARDIS too, just couldn't get to the screen."
And if not, he'd probably just made a complete fool of himself. But he shook that feeling off, smiled and held out his hand again.
"I'm Mickey Smith. I don't know if Jack has told you about me?"

Her smile was teasing and open as she gratefully snagged the mug Ianto was handing over to her.
"I was in the original hub with Ianto when things went a bit odd, yes. Just how many did the Doctor have in there that day?"

Later that Night - Waiting for Kyle to come home.
"Ianto, the kitchen is clean, I promise. Please come and sit with me for awhile?"
Later that Night - Waiting for Kyle to come home.
But sitting with Jack was a much more inviting idea, no matter how much he liked things to be clean.
Down to a waistcoat, his tie loose and top button undone, Ianto followed the sound of Jack's voice into the living room.
"I think I can find time to sit with you for a while."
Later that Night - Waiting for Kyle to come home.
At some point Jack had removed his braces and had on only a dress shirt, t-shirt and his slacks. His boots had been removed -he'd learned to keep them off the furniture!- and he was in his socking feet.
"How was the first day back in awhile?" He asked as Ianto joined him, reaching an arm out towards the young Welshman.
Later that Night - Waiting for Kyle to come home.
Working in the library in the morning then running around by himself for a good portion of the afternoon for Artemis, then coming home to make coffee and clean left him a little tired. He didn't mind Jack seeing that, even if he liked to appear unruffled to everyone else.
"In a word, hectic," Ianto grinned, resting his head in the crook of Jack's shoulder.
Later that Night - Waiting for Kyle to come home.
"You work too hard," he said quietly. Yes, it would probably be a standing argument between them, though Jack made a mental note to pick up and do the laundry in the next day so Ianto wouldn't have to worry about that.
Quiet for a little bit, he watched the flames in the small fire he'd built in the woodstove and held Ianto close to him as he pondered things. Setting his chin against the top of the younger man's hair, Jack let his eyes half close as he inhaled the clean scent of Ianto's shampoo.
"I think ... we're hurting Kyle."
