Log;

It was hard to miss the big blue house, set on the beach just behind the dunes. Jack hadn't exactly been subtle with that blue paint after all.

Since he was expecting Mickey, Jack had the doors open as he puttered about on the main level, carrying a mug of coffee from the kitchen to the sofa where he'd settled to read for a bit. At least until Mickey got there.

Coming from the complete opposite side of the City, Mickey had finally reached the lighthouse. Jack hadn't mentioned to him that the big house close to it would be blue.

Mickey entered the house through the already open doors, closed said doors and looked around.

"Hello?" he called out as he walked further into the house.

Mickey sighed, slightly irritated by hearing that nickname again. He was going to have to come up with a comeback on that later.

Nevertheless, he smiled when he saw Jack.

"Looks nice," he said about the house. "Big and bright. So where's the working space then?"

Mickey took his gloves off and followed Jack.

"Good," he answered Jack's question. "I've decided to stay at Martha's after all, instead of finding a place of my own. She's a good housemate and there's plenty of room. I haven't experienced any of those curses yet myself, so we'll see about that."

Interaction for later on?

Home from work - a little session Underground for Artemis - Ianto hung up his coat and tucked away his stun-gloves on charge.

He then made his way to put the blood samples in cold storage, making no attempt to hide them.

Back to the kitchen then, and his coffee machine. "Coffee, anyone?" he called to the house, unsure of who was around.

Later on?

Mickey was still on his tour through the building when he heard the call coming from nearby.

Mickey was told by Jack that Ianto made the best coffee in the entire universe, so he figured that must have been him.

"Yeah, I'd like some, please," he called back.

Later on!

[identity profile] king-coffee.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, Ianto thought that must be Mickey.

"It'll be ready in a few," he called back, switching his machine on.

Mickey got to the kitchen, thought that'd be as polite.

"Hey, I'm Mickey Smith," he said to Ianto and held out his hand.

They had talked before, but they hadn't met yet, so Mickey thought a proper introduction would be appropriate.

[identity profile] king-coffee.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Ianto turned, and just before he took Mickey's hand to shake, he paused.

He had definitely seen this man before. Something niggled about Torchwood One, but that wasn't possible.

But he recovered and shook the outstretched hand.

"Ah, nice to finally meet you." No, he wasn't going to introduce himself. Not yet.

Abby walked in with her German Shepherd right at her side. Shaking her black parasol off, she took her red jacket off too. She was probably one of a rare few who would wear a short skirt in this weather.

"Guys! I'm here to drop Jethro off! I have a fake date to get to so I can socialize an awkward teenager. Jethro will be good though. He'll just head to my room."

Of course, she was shouting with the assumption that someone was actually there.

[identity profile] caf-pow-girl.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
There's her Jack! Instantly her face was full of mock seriousness.

"I don't know. You might scare him. And he's my assistant at work. Do you think you can handle yourself?"

So much for a serious look, her face melted into a grin. "I did tell him that I was buying him food too."

[identity profile] caf-pow-girl.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Aw! You're so sweet!" For the picture comment, Jack got a big hug. Not that he didn't all the time to begin with.

"Besides, I have to spend my money somewhere. I mean, I have to trick Carlos and Gren into letting me pay for things. This will be a good chance."

Kneeling down, she gives Jethro a good rubbing too. "Do you want to come though?"

Gwen wandered up a few moments later, arms full of files and other assorted papers.

"Oh, full house, isn't it?"

[identity profile] king-coffee.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Looking up, Ianto grinned and made a sign asking if Gwen wanted coffee.

[identity profile] protect-them.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Looking for somewhere to settle her handful down, she nodded, hoping he'd get her a large dose.

That voice and that accent sounded very familiar to Mickey.

"Did you work for Torchwood too, back home?" Mickey started. "I mean, in your own world? I remember your voice. You helped get Earth back in its place, right? I was in the TARDIS too, just couldn't get to the screen."

And if not, he'd probably just made a complete fool of himself. But he shook that feeling off, smiled and held out his hand again.

"I'm Mickey Smith. I don't know if Jack has told you about me?"

[identity profile] protect-them.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"For Jack's Torchwood, yes. I'm Gwen Williams. It's good to meet you, Mickey. Jack's tried to warn us about you. Said not to listen to a thing you say about him, so I want to hear everything you know."

Her smile was teasing and open as she gratefully snagged the mug Ianto was handing over to her.

"I was in the original hub with Ianto when things went a bit odd, yes. Just how many did the Doctor have in there that day?"

Later that Night - Waiting for Kyle to come home.

[identity profile] king-coffee.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Ianto was inclined to disagree. With all the people traipsing in and out all day, it had gotten rather messy.

But sitting with Jack was a much more inviting idea, no matter how much he liked things to be clean.

Down to a waistcoat, his tie loose and top button undone, Ianto followed the sound of Jack's voice into the living room.

"I think I can find time to sit with you for a while."

Later that Night - Waiting for Kyle to come home.

Toeing off his shoes and tucking them away neatly, Ianto took Jack's outstretched arm as an invitation and curled against his side, resting rather heavily against him.

Working in the library in the morning then running around by himself for a good portion of the afternoon for Artemis, then coming home to make coffee and clean left him a little tired. He didn't mind Jack seeing that, even if he liked to appear unruffled to everyone else.

"In a word, hectic," Ianto grinned, resting his head in the crook of Jack's shoulder.
