THE NEW YEAR | OPEN LOG
When; January 26th, nightfall
Rating; PG
Characters; The Tianzi [
justasystem] & Anyone & Everyone
Summary; On the night of the Chinese Lunar new year, the lights are on in Xanadu and many volunteers have worked hard to ready food and entertainment for anyone who wishes to attend. A dragon dance through the gardens and lanterns all around make for a splendid setting, and the Empress is doing her best to meet everyone who comes.
Notes; Aaaaaaanyone who wants to can participate in this log. Tianzi pretty much invited not only anyone she knew, but anyone she knew's friends, and "any good people", so. Come and have fun if you want! If you want to just grab a specific person, specify "to: ____" in your comment subject, or just leave it blank or put it "open". I'll try and pretty much tag... everyone in between my Tokugawa hw and company, and hey- it's a good chance to meet new people and make new friends, right? Have fun!
Log; It had been a long time in preparation, this one day. One day, she thought, hoped, would make people happy- would give people something to do, to meet new people, to make new friends, to enjoy themselves and not have to think about the deities, the curses, or the demands. And she thought maybe, maybe she'd succeeded.
Everything was beautiful. Xanadu on its own was a beautiful place, but now it was decked in festive crimson, lanterns adorning the trees and lit tables bearing good and trinkets reading to be surrounded by people- happy people. She, herself, was decked so- red silks and ceremonial garb befitting the Empress of China, young as she was, and picked out in advance- when Xing-ke was still here. He wasn't here to see it- all the traditional foods, but not just that, new things, too, because she'd asked people to bring anything they wanted, anything that was good to eat. And firecrackers, too, paper for cranes, and- everything was perfect.
After Yoite had taken her home, after she'd cried and cried more when she found the apartment empty, she'd pulled out the clothes, the last of the preparations. Stood on a stool and struggled to try and make what she'd promised to try and bring. Alone. But she hid the red of her eyes in the red of the New Year, and because people were coming- the guests, the good citizens... she put on a smile, and a wave of her small hand.

She let out a sigh and headed out to the Xanadu after getting dressed for the occasion, all thanks to Miki who drew her perfect outfit for her. Her three guardian chara were even more excited than she was because these kinds of things were still new to them. Amu knew the three of them would be visible to anyone who met her here and that made part of her self-conscious because it still felt weird to explain it without assuming she'd get weird looks, but despite that she let the three come with her because it was just something she was going to have to get used to.
When she arrived she looked around and saw were a lot of people there already.

And the other girl seemed somewhat familiar to her, like they shard something in common, maybe? She'd been shocked enough to find that of the two of them, Amu was the younger.
"... Amu?" She waved a little shyly, padding over on silk slippers that made no noise.

She recognized that Tianzi was coming over to her and she waved back "Hi Tianzi"

"... Mister ox?" She whispered, tiptoeing close, quiet and slow as she thought one should be around animals you didn't know.
There was something familiar- bothering the back of her mind.

It stretches its neck to nudge her with its large nose.

When she has the chance, she tries to flag the Tianzi down without moving from her warm spot. "Tianzi~ Happy New Year~"

The Tianzi had been walking back from the tables of food, an almond cookie in her hands and half in her mouth, making her words slightly muffled as she came over, trails of crimson silk following after her.
"You came!"

When he offered to help with the construction of the dragon for this celebration it was both an attempt to get to know one of Lucy's friends, and in a way, to reconnect despite lack of memory. It was a good project to have, productive and different than most anything else he had done before. With Caspian, it had been an easy enough task, if a bit time consuming, and now on the night of, he fancied that they'd done a rather good job. Of course he had nothing to compare it to, but if Tianzi liked it he felt that would certainly be enough. One did not necessarily have to retain memory of a person to be able to know after even the briefest interaction that to do something nice for said person would be worthwhile.
Glancing around, he spotted her--and not for the first time, but previously she had been speaking to someone else or the like and he had moved along. She stood dressed in brilliant red that drew the eye, even to one of her slight stature, and while he would not have guessed 'empress' without having been told, the nature of her attire suggested something along those lines all on its own.
People did seem to be having fun and he imagined Lucy must be about in their midst. As the empress and queen were friends, this was one of the few environments in which the High King did not feel the need to closely monitor his sister, which was really quite fortunate for everyone. When he had walked Lucy to see Tianzi that night when people began changing all sorts of strange colors, he had known something was wrong, but he hadn't asked. Tonight, Tianzi wore a smile, and it was Peter's passing but honest hope that whatever burdened her before could be lightened. Walking over, he nodded at her before coming within hearing proximity.
"Good evening," he greeted her with a smile and a bow.

She was wearing a bright red outfit, and a smile. It was so pretty, and such a nice way to celebrate the new year. "Happy New Year."

TO: Anyone? :3?
"Happy New Year!" He returned Tianzi's greeting with a very cheerful smile and a bow, but for the most part seemed to be off in his own little world.

"A drink?" She offered one of the two tall glasses she held. "Non-alcoholic --for now."

To: Youko | Customers!
The decorations were foreign and familiar - China and Japan had similar symbols and aestheticism, after all; one country's cultural heritage distilled through the other's eyes. A bit of familiarity in celebrating the Lunar New Year, that was something she craved, so when Tianzi, the ever-so-young Chinese Empress, had suggested it, Rin had gladly decided to participate. But should she feel comfort, considering what she'd left behind at home? She sighed a little, putting one hand to her waist while idly pushing at a strand of hair with the other.
Her thoughts had only been running in circles, ever since she came here. A diversion was good. It was certainly good.
"Well", she said, now stemming both hands into her waist, countering the wave of melancholy with enthusiasm, "Let the party begin!"

"Rin! Hey, is this your stall? I didn't know you cooked."

To: Anise, anyone else
The Tianzi had told him he could bring someone else, a friend, and Setsuna thought that of the few people he talked to often in the City Anise would most probably be the one to enjoy herself in such an event. So he asked if she could go with him.

"... Is it... Setsuna F. Seiei?" Her voice was soft, a little hesitant when she approached, tentatively tucking gold ornamented hair behind an ear with a smile.
