Summary; Jade and Peony decide to stretch their legs a little after trolling those who are cursed.
Log;

Satisfied with the day's trollings, Jade sat back, shutting the machine before him. Calmly, he left his quarters, paying little to no mind to any people he came across. He shared an apartment with the important ones, and the others... well, unless they had anything to offer in terms of escape or entertainment, Jade was more than willing to write them off as nothing more than nuisances to be tolerated until he could finally leave. And the most important person in Jade's (not so) humble opinion lay ahead of his little excursion.

Blinking eyes of crimson as they adjusted to the lighting, Jade, once again ignoring anyone else on the street, continued onward to the fountain from which he'd arrived. Although he wandered in what could be mistaken for a daze, he absorbed everything in his deft pace. One of the many basic rules of survival rooted itself in being aware of one's surroundings-- and Jade took care not to defy those rules.

Other laws? Those were expendable. ♥

"Ah." came a quiet sound as Jade, to his surprise, wound up at his destination. That had been... quite easy. Then again, he recalled reading how one could just travel aimlessly and still wind up in the correct location.

Curious.

Casually leaning against the fountain's edge, Jade did all he could do now, and what he usually found himself doing when Peony and an assigned time were involved.

He waited.

Seeing as how Peony was neither familiar with nor particularly observant, in this instance, towards his new surroundings, he tentatively made his way to the fountain. The vague remembrance of the way there played on the edges of his recollection--but even so, he didn't put forth much of an effort to tug it back into his conscious mind. Of course, he could have asked for directions, but that wasn't really his style. As far as Peony was concerned, he would get there. Eventually.

And get there, he did. Eventually.

Peony approached Jade from the side, smacking a hand on his shoulder ungracefully.

"Pray tell, what is a girl like you doing in a place like this?"

Following suit, Peony countered with an obnoxiously bad Southern accent of his own at an octave lower than his normal tone.

"Are you sure you're not just mis~taken, lil' lady? After all, that fall from heaven musta done a number on ya. I'd reckon your brains are all scrambled," he replied as he moved in close and grinned shamelessly.

Peony opened his mouth and tried to reply to that. He really did. And yet he found himself throwing his head back and letting out a bout of explosive laughter instead of the verbal quip he'd intended.

"I'm not going to lie," he started brightly, straightening up after such an undignified display. Not that he cared how it had appeared, but his stomach muscles had begun to cramp. "I've missed you, Jade. It's great to see you again." Though he kept his response lighthearted, Peony was truly, deeply glad to be bantering with the other man once again.

Without hesitation, Peony pulled Jade into an enthusiastic bear hug as a genuine smile formed on his face. After releasing him and standing back once again, he then rested a hand on each of Jade's shoulders.

"You seem to be in good health," he determined after giving Jade a mock cursory visual examination. "I take it you've not been drinking too much to ease your separation anxiety?"

[identity profile] peonis.livejournal.com 2009-02-18 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Not completely," he intoned with a smirk and a shrug. "Your Majesty, hm? For a minute there, you almost had me fooled into thinking that you'd be using my actual name on a regular basis."

Folding his arms, he let his expression dissolve into something decidedly more whimsical.

"Well then, I think we should take care of your unfortunately low blood-alcohol level. After all, this touching reunion is cause for celebration."

[identity profile] peonis.livejournal.com 2009-02-18 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
Peony decided to entirely ignore that first comment.

"Hey! I think about other things!" he barked, his features contorting into a scowl briefly before softening into an almost happy pout. "Like rappigs."

"Ooh, a victory for Peo-kun! ♥~"

Peony thrust his fist into the air and did a little dance before planting his hands on his hips and grinning in Jade's direction.

"You up for hitting a bar? Of course, I'm not sure what currency they accept or even where one is, but...."

[identity profile] peonis.livejournal.com 2009-02-18 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't be a sore loser," Peony chided lightly, wagging a finger at Jade.

"Oh? How fortunate! If you know of a bar, then let's go," he insisted as he tugged on the sleeve of Jade's unfashionable uniform.

And it certainly wasn't Peony's fault that Sesseman never accepted his uniform redesigns. That old geezer always seemed to find fault with some aspect of his concept sketches, but Peony was sure in his heart that the damn fogey just didn't want to spend the money. At least, that's what he told himself, because there was no way his designs were anything but flawless. Or so he thought.

Upon hearing that, he let go of Jade's sleeve. "Sorry, man. You're definitely not cheap. By all means, go ahead."

[identity profile] peonis.livejournal.com 2009-02-19 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Peony let out a curt laugh and scratched his neck absentmindedly.

"Oh, come on, I said nothing of the sort. We both know that luggage can't buy drinks," he called after Jade as he lengthened his strides in order to catch up.

Peony finished closing the distance and slung his arm around Jade's shoulders.

"No, but I do want to get you drunk so then I can defile you."

[identity profile] peonis.livejournal.com 2009-02-19 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Excellent."

Upon nearing the storefront, Peony hobbled ahead and held the door open for the other man. After all, he figured it to be the very least he could do if he was going to take advantage of him after getting him inebriated. At that thought, Peony couldn't help but let out a snerk before grinning innocently at Jade. Truly, he enjoyed being able to have this sort of exchange with his best friend once again.

"After you. ♥"

"Sounds good to me."

Peony made his way to the bar and plopped himself down on a stool. His eyebrows raised at the way the seat depressed under his weight and emitted a sound not unlike a deflating balloon. Interesting. Rhythmically drumming his fingers on the counter, Peony glanced over to Jade.

"You can order for me. I'm not feeling all that picky today."
