Log//Ongoing
When; Afternoon/Evening February 22nd
Rating; PG
Characters; Shiki
concept_killer and Taiga
palmtoptaiga
Summary; Not much to say here. Shiki screwed up due to Valentine's Day curse and now he's out to make up for it.
Log;
Admittedly, it was a bad move. No, not going out on this date. That was a good decision. The bad one was sneaking out early and aimlessly wandering around before stopping at a flower shop. Shiki decided to jet early because he didn't want Akiha waiting somewhere for him. Whew, that would lead to a horrible situation. So off at the flower shop, he ended up making a single purchase. Shiki sat around for a bit, calmly pruning it with his knife since he had time to blow.
Sadly, he lost himself in that time and was jolted out of his day dreams by a bell going off. Cursing under his breath, he ran down the road and into the correct apartment building. Stopping at the door, he took a few seconds to catch his breath and straighten up his jacket. A little over five minutes late, he was still okay. Hopefully. He'd find out in a couple seconds. Rapping on the door with his knuckles, Shiki stepped back and waited.

Missing him wouldn't do her any good. Hadn't done her any good. She was on her own in the City.
And Shiki, who already owed her for his colossal blunder on Valentine's Day, had arrived late.
Let him off the hook? Please.
Tugging on the hem of her dress (he told her to wear something nice, and she actually listened), she took a few deep breaths and tried to clear her head. Then she reached out and yanked the door open, her game face on.
"You're late, maggot."
no subject
"H-Hey. I was uh...doing something for you and ended up day dreaming. It's not really my fault, right?"
He ended up scratching his head, all of his worries lost except for the one where he feared that maybe physical confrontation was in his immediate future. Shiki really really wanted to avoid that. If he went home with bruises...
Augh, just thinking about it made everything ten times worse. Skip it.
"So, are you ready?"
no subject
Equally annoying was the fact that she had already started blushing. Eyes on the ground, she twiddled her thumbs.
"Daydreaming? About what?"
no subject
"I was just thinking about today. I'm a little nervous so you can guess how that goes."
He chuckled slightly before remembering what was in his jacket.
"Oh...right..."
no subject
"I'm pretty sure you don't have a pony in there. And you said you'd surpass my expectations."
no subject
He pulled the single rose out of his pocket. The one he had sat around and carefully cut the thorns off of. Not that it was hard but when it came to knives, Shiki liked to be extra careful.
And now he had no idea where to put it. So he held it out to her in hopes that she would have the idea he was lacking.

A rose. Of all things...
"You...I..."
Before she could make an even bigger fool of herself, she grabbed it from him.
"Thank you," she mumbled.
no subject
He resisted the urge to stuff his hands into his pant pockets. Instead, he offered one, a habit that he had when he took girls out. Not that he did that often or anything.
"I don't want to sound rude but we don't exactly have all night. The place might get packed if we get there too late."
SORRY HAD TO EAT
Obviously.
She started to grin. A stupid, giddy grin that part of her realized he could see, but she didn't care at the moment.
When she finally tore her eyes away from the rose, she noticed his hand was extended toward her. He expected her to take it, didn't he? A normal girl would take it. Ryuuji would say she should take it.
...so she did. And she probably held on too tight, but he'd just have to deal with that.
"Wh-" Stop. Pause. Careful, careful. "Where are we going?"
NO PROB
Haah, what a bad plan. The last real, real date he had was when he took Arcuied to the movies and then to a fast food place. Sure he did some things with Amelia but she was really easy to please. Same with Arcuied. Taiga was big leagues, or so he thought.
no subject
"Getting a little flabby, Shiki?"
no subject
He spun around, lightly tugging Taiga so she could follow.
"Every little bit is good for the anemia."
no subject
She increased the pressure on his hand- her nails were a bit on the longish side, so he'd definitely feel something -though she did follow.
She'd deal with the anemia comment after he gave her a suitable answer.
no subject
He tried pulling away but what a bust. Not like she wasn't already holding on anyways. He reminded himself not to say something stupid while he was in arms reach or he might lack arms the next time.
no subject
She loosened her grip a little and picked up her pace just enough for them to walk side-by-side.
"How is your anemia? You've been careful, right?"
no subject
no, he couldn't help this, he spoke up to answer her question."It's fine, I think. As long as I don't do something stupid like sprint for a long time or lift heavy weights, I'll be good. Though, no matter what I do, I'll still collapse once every month. Maybe it's some kind of cycle but I'll be fine one moment and then I'll get really dizzy and fall down the next.
How about you? Should I expect anything crazy that's not you?"
no subject
She looked back up at him (why did she have to be so short?), eyebrows raised.
"Every month? There's no way to stop it? Or predict it?"
In response to his last question, she shook her head.
"As for me, you don't need to worry. Unless you tick me off, I'm fine."
no subject
"Your guess is as good as mine, Taiga. Probably better, who knows.
And I'll worry. I'll never know about a few of your roommates."
no subject
She switched to the other topic.
"My roommates? What about them?"
no subject
"I don't know. Does it ever bother you that Konata always seems to just know things? Sometimes it creeps me out."
no subject
"Maybe she's psychic."
no subject
Shiki let out a sigh, curious as to what would push Taiga's buttons right now.
"I wonder what you're thinking right now. If I was psychic, I'd find out."
no subject
She immediately let go of his hand and jumped in front of him, jabbing her finger against his chest.
"If I ever found out you were psychic and you nosed around in my head, I would turn you into minced maggot."
no subject
Girls these days. You could never tell what made them mad but he definitely picked a good one. And he was pretty sure she'd back that threat up fully.
no subject
"Because you're a boy. And you're...you."
no subject
"Are you trying to say I'm a pervert and I'd put bad thoughts in your mind?"
no subject
Cue mortification.
no subject
He reached up and planted a hand on Taiga's head.
"...it's okay. I like you too so there's nothing to worry about. It's not like I'd actually do any of that anyways."
no subject
Though she had to admit, it was nice to hear he liked her. She wasn't used to liking someone and having the sentiment returned.
"Stop petting me."
Could do without the hand on her head, though.
no subject
"There's no way I'd die, even if you killed me. It's a simple fact."
Despite having their own little argument, they HAD shown up at where the wanted to be. Shiki practically passed it by, paying more attention to Taiga than what was around him.
no subject
Actually, she did, but there was no reason to tell him that. Straightening her dress, she saw the sign outside the restaurant.
"Is this it?"
no subject
He reached out and grabbed the door for her with the saying that is always standard.
"Ladies first."
no subject
"Good boy," she said over her shoulder.
no subject
"Going to order one of everything in here today?"
