log; open

When; March 27, evening until the last party animal goes home.
Rating; I have no idea. I assume it would cap off around R? For language and drunken debauchery. And possible table dancing.
Characters; The staff at any of the City schools, TAs, and anyone cursed and not currently underage.
Summary; There has been a lot of talk about the teachers cutting loose after finals, and I thought it might be cool to have a general post to do it. Start a thread, tag someone else, end up backtagging like mad, whatever sounds fun. While the students are away, the teachers will play, and whatnot.
Log;

It's been an insane week, and Dawn is just ready to take a break from it all. And drink more alcohol than is probably intelligent.

She's one of the first to arrive, and after flashing a smile at one of the bartenders, she gets both an Appletini and help dragging a couple tables together; it makes one corner of the bar into a nice home base of sorts. Then Dawn sits down, puts her feet up on another chair, and starts in on her first drink of the night.

[ooc: If you'd like your thread to be closed to certain someone or someones, subject line it and all is aces. Otherwise, anywhere is jump in-able; let's have some fun.]

"Don't drink in all in one gulp, Dawn, or you won't last long."

Bobby dragged himself up to the chair next to his former student and took a swig of the beer he'd grabbed from the bartender on the way in. Over thirty years teaching, and now it was done.

Damn he was gonna miss it.

[identity profile] 71-chevelle.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Bobby put an arm around her and squeezed. He and his wife had never manged to have kids before the cancer took her, but the woman next to him was just about the closest thing.

"Eh, you'll be fine. Probably get more work done without me around, anyway."

Like most years, Logan ended up waiting around for the last few stragglers to stagger across the finish line long after sundown. Then it was a run through the trail to make sure nobody had fainted or been left behind before he was free to get himself over to the bar. A beer was definitely in order.

Once he managed to get ahold of a cold mug he made his way to the back of the room where the rest of the faculty were seated and grabbed a chair near the corner where he could relax.

[identity profile] twodogsfighting.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"'course," Logan replied, giving her a little smile over his beer. "I've been lookin' forward to this all day."

And wasn't that the truth. Between supervising stupidly reckless students in the workshop and monitoring the lengthy run there wasn't enough beer in the world. Speaking off, he was already done his first. A pitcher might be more convenient.

[identity profile] lastpunchline.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
He was bone tired, but somewhat pleased with himself. He hadn't gotten fired, and some days that had to be enough. He didn't know who was behind this entire mess - he still didn't think that Blair had the chops to do this without help. He was pissed that pictures of Sally went up, because no one in this shithole was old enough to have been there.

He sat back with his beer. Shit if anyone was going to ruin this much for him. Eddie had been teaching for so long the years blurred together. He knew he wasn't liked much by the rest of the staff, but he didn't care.

[identity profile] lastpunchline.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Eddie looked up at Dawn, and gave her a nod. She's a young teacher, she's still got a lot of spunk in her, and clearly she's got the kind of drive it would take to stick it out. He doesn't dislike her; in fact, he kind of likes her. He knows she doesn't agree with his teaching style, but that's predictable. He doesn't like to be easy on the kids. Gym shouldn't be something that just gets laid off to the wayside, he thinks.

"Yeah, well," he said, taking a drink. "I'm still under investigation. Blair doesn't know I wasn't fired." Yet. "She's still failing gym," he said, almost in a monotone. "Winchester's doing finals."

He shrugged. "It'll work itself out."

[identity profile] 71-chevelle.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Bobby had been keeping his eye out for Eddie since he arrived at the bar, the rumors had been flying all day and while he knew Blake hadn't been fired there was no way the situation hadn't taken some toll.

And since Eddie was one of the few teachers that had been at Westerberg longer than him, he felt he owed him a beer at the very least. Sitting himself in the chair he noticed Dawn vacating earlier, he motioned at the man's drink.

"Ready for another? On me."

[identity profile] lastpunchline.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Eddie gave Bobby a smirk. It was kind of nice to see the drivers ed teacher retire with all his limbs intact, considering the near misses he had achieved in this thirty years at Westerberg. He raises his glass, mostly empty, and nodded. "Pass me another," he said brightly, grinning.

"To your retirement. Enjoy life with all your limbs intact."

If anyone on the faculty deserves a break after all the stress and madness of putting a high school full of dubiously sane teenagers through exams, it's the guidance counselor, right?

But Lockon doesn't seem interested in cutting loose and relaxing. He's waiting at the bar with two beers in front of him and a frown on his face. He has his vest draped over the barstool next to him to claim it, but nobody's showing up. In fact, hasn't he been here for a while, waiting like this?

He leans forward on the bar and tries not to look too pitiful. Fortunately, he's fairly good at covering up that sort of thing, so he only looks sad and disappointed for a moment. Then he straightens up again and just shakes his head. To no one in particular, he says, "All right, it was a little much to expect him to come."

He looks down at the two beers, considering. After a moment, his sense of responsibility wins out over his Irishness, and he turns to look for someone else to share the extra beer with.

After a rather strenuous dinner with her fiancé, Megumi isn't looking for anything but some sort of distraction from the inevitable tension she's going to face tomorrow. At least she can sleep in during the day, but a drink with the other teachers-- as she'd been informed, can't be all that bad. Despite the fact that her dear husband-to-be will not approve, but this may be her last night at freedom if Cain and her plan fails tomorrow.

Still wearing the necklace and earrings she'd been 'gifted' earlier in the day by her stepston-to-be, she feels a bit tired as she heads towards the bar, glancing around at the others, before shaking her head and walking to it.

Good upbringing or not, a little drink never hurt anyone-- though she does cast a glance towards Lockon, finding him familiar-- even though she's cursed so heavily she can't even recognize her own enemy cursed into being her fiancé. And giving him a small smile, she gestures to the seat.

"Lost a drinking companion?" She comments, with a bit of mirth to her tone.

[identity profile] haroicsacrifice.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't think I ever had him to begin with," Lockon replies easily, with a sheepish grin. He too has the momentary sense that Megumi is familiar--after all, he's familiar here with most of the people he knows in his normal state of mind--but he can't quite pin it down.

He takes his vest off the seat and nods to it himself--an invitation for Megumi to sit down. "Well, my brother's not coming. You look like you should relax a bit yourself."

He is, apparently, not the kind of guidance counselor who can go off-duty very easily.

Niko wasn't one to drink, but after a day like today, he decided he could use the social scene at the bar if not the alcohol served there. Of the essays he'd read so far, only one had deserved an A, six a B, and half of the rest barely deserved the C he'd been charitable enough to write in the top corners.

He shed his jacket when he stepped through the front door, careful to fold the garment over his arm in a way that didn't expose the knives stored inside of it (he and Cal thought they were safe, but that was no reason to go around unarmed), and headed to the bar for a bottle of water. It was the only beverage the establishment charged for that he would drink unless someone talked him into a beer.

[identity profile] cal-sitter.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
He allowed the hug, even returned it in as detached a manner as was polite. For the most part Niko wasn't accustomed to physical contact, and he always preferred to keep his hands free. A smile greeted the teasing from his former teacher, reserved but good-humored.

"I don't drink," he said by way of excuse. No need to mention Sophia. His teachers had never met her, and he didn't care to give confirmation to any suspicions they might have had about her. "Some of the work I've seen today may make me want to, but I'd rather not let the students break me."

Lol, the phys-ed teacher makes an appearance!

[identity profile] crossshapedscar.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Wanders in after a while, not entirely sure why he's shown up, he's not big on social gatherings to begin with... but there was a slight draw over the thought of seeing Kamiya Kaoru with a few drinks in her... Granted, there was probably some significant danger as well, but most interesting things had a touch of danger in them, didn't they? And he was fairly sure he'd overheard her talk about going out with the rest of the teachers, so! Here he was!

He'd done what he normally did at the end of the year for his students--gotten the last of their physical tests out of the way a week early and then just let them have free gym periods during finals week. After all, when you were already stressed out about writing a paper the length of War and Peace, who wants to worry about the number of sit-ups they can do inside a minute?

He waves at the people he recognized, making his way to the bar and requesting a bottle of warm sake, pouring a little in a cup and sipping, keeping an eye out for Kaoru.

[identity profile] shihondaikirei.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Naturally, Kaoru was half lost in thought, thinking about the final. Would her students do well? Of course they would! After all, Miss Kaoru Kamiya was teaching them, and she did all she could to instill the seeds of knowledge and success into them! She was confident that her students would prevail!

But.. then again... there was the possibility of the grading curve being put to use. Kaoru hated that. It wasn't something to be used as a crutch, nor something to be used at all! But the school had 'standards to uphold,' and in that respect, her hands were tied.

In the end, she found herself walking into the teacher's party, still thinking about those tests, and not really able to relax yet. It was also that time she saw Mr Himura by the bar, looking calm and collected as usual.

"Good evening, Mr Himura!" She added a pleasant smile to it. "I trust exam week hasn't been terribly stressful on you."

[identity profile] crossshapedscar.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
He spotted her coming almost immediately and gave her a friendly wave.

"Saa, we're not at the school, Kaoru-dono. There's no need for formalities," he said smiling before giving a slightly awkward laugh. "And yes... it's all pass or fail--and this one scheduled everything so that they were done last week."

Done~

sob so late

[identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Gabriel is one of the last to arrive, more because he'd been nervous about showing up than because of the few students scrambling to fix up their last minute projects. He's not usually one to come to these things. He doesn't matriculate well, and he's always known that, even though he puts up a reasonably 'cool' front up for the kids.

He walks into the bar, looking for people he knows. He knows he doesn't want beer, but maybe he can get something...ah, rum and Coke. People drink that, don't they? He orders that and hopes Dawn's here. She's easier to talk to.

[identity profile] makes-you-tick.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Gabriel seems somewhat uncomfortable with the hug, completely unsure how to deal with that. He smiles widely, then raises his glass at Dawn when they break apart. "Thank God," he says, chuckling. "Now we can focus on the other important parts of our life- like...what else is it we do, again?"
