log; open
When; March 27, evening until the last party animal goes home.
Rating; I have no idea. I assume it would cap off around R? For language and drunken debauchery. And possible table dancing.
Characters; The staff at any of the City schools, TAs, and anyone cursed and not currently underage.
Summary; There has been a lot of talk about the teachers cutting loose after finals, and I thought it might be cool to have a general post to do it. Start a thread, tag someone else, end up backtagging like mad, whatever sounds fun. While the students are away, the teachers will play, and whatnot.
Log;
It's been an insane week, and Dawn is just ready to take a break from it all. And drink more alcohol than is probably intelligent.
She's one of the first to arrive, and after flashing a smile at one of the bartenders, she gets both an Appletini and help dragging a couple tables together; it makes one corner of the bar into a nice home base of sorts. Then Dawn sits down, puts her feet up on another chair, and starts in on her first drink of the night.
[ooc: If you'd like your thread to be closed to certain someone or someones, subject line it and all is aces. Otherwise, anywhere is jump in-able; let's have some fun.]

Bobby dragged himself up to the chair next to his former student and took a swig of the beer he'd grabbed from the bartender on the way in. Over thirty years teaching, and now it was done.
Damn he was gonna miss it.

She leaned over a bit, pressing her shoulder to his. Bobby had been her teacher, and then later a good friend. She'd never really been able to picture the school she ended up spending almost half of her life in without him.
"I'm going to miss you, you know."
no subject
"Eh, you'll be fine. Probably get more work done without me around, anyway."
no subject
"Now you're just trying to make me feel better." She rested her chin on his shoulder. "And anyway, you'll still be around, or I'll practice my new lockpick skills on your place first."

Once he managed to get ahold of a cold mug he made his way to the back of the room where the rest of the faculty were seated and grabbed a chair near the corner where he could relax.
placeholders for greater justice!
"Logan! You made it."

And wasn't that the truth. Between supervising stupidly reckless students in the workshop and monitoring the lengthy run there wasn't enough beer in the world. Speaking off, he was already done his first. A pitcher might be more convenient.
no subject
He sat back with his beer. Shit if anyone was going to ruin this much for him. Eddie had been teaching for so long the years blurred together. He knew he wasn't liked much by the rest of the staff, but he didn't care.
no subject
"Eddie?" She approached somewhat cautiously, Appletini still in hand. "I wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened. And I'm glad things turned out all right for you."
no subject
"Yeah, well," he said, taking a drink. "I'm still under investigation. Blair doesn't know I wasn't fired." Yet. "She's still failing gym," he said, almost in a monotone. "Winchester's doing finals."
He shrugged. "It'll work itself out."
no subject
"You'll be cleared." Dawn shrugged. "Blair's a good student. One of my best. But she lied, and it'll come out."
She took a sip of her drink, then looked over at Eddie consideringly, tapping her lower lip with one well-manicured fingernail. "What's the official word on the dance tomorrow? Because it might help shake off some of the rumors if you attend."
Dawn's a busybody, but she's also trying to help.

And since Eddie was one of the few teachers that had been at Westerberg longer than him, he felt he owed him a beer at the very least. Sitting himself in the chair he noticed Dawn vacating earlier, he motioned at the man's drink.
"Ready for another? On me."

But Lockon doesn't seem interested in cutting loose and relaxing. He's waiting at the bar with two beers in front of him and a frown on his face. He has his vest draped over the barstool next to him to claim it, but nobody's showing up. In fact, hasn't he been here for a while, waiting like this?
He leans forward on the bar and tries not to look too pitiful. Fortunately, he's fairly good at covering up that sort of thing, so he only looks sad and disappointed for a moment. Then he straightens up again and just shakes his head. To no one in particular, he says, "All right, it was a little much to expect him to come."
He looks down at the two beers, considering. After a moment, his sense of responsibility wins out over his Irishness, and he turns to look for someone else to share the extra beer with.

Still wearing the necklace and earrings she'd been 'gifted' earlier in the day by her stepston-to-be, she feels a bit tired as she heads towards the bar, glancing around at the others, before shaking her head and walking to it.
Good upbringing or not, a little drink never hurt anyone-- though she does cast a glance towards Lockon, finding him familiar-- even though she's cursed so heavily she can't even recognize her own enemy cursed into being her fiancé. And giving him a small smile, she gestures to the seat.
"Lost a drinking companion?" She comments, with a bit of mirth to her tone.

He takes his vest off the seat and nods to it himself--an invitation for Megumi to sit down. "Well, my brother's not coming. You look like you should relax a bit yourself."
He is, apparently, not the kind of guidance counselor who can go off-duty very easily.

He shed his jacket when he stepped through the front door, careful to fold the garment over his arm in a way that didn't expose the knives stored inside of it (he and Cal thought they were safe, but that was no reason to go around unarmed), and headed to the bar for a bottle of water. It was the only beverage the establishment charged for that he would drink unless someone talked him into a beer.

"Niko!" Her former student was going to get a hug whether he wanted it or not, but Dawn made it short. "It's great to see you. I'm glad you came-- oh, come on, water? Live a little. We all deserve it tonight."
[ooc: Aaaaaaaaaaand I have to go buy food so I... have food in the house, be back in a little bit.]

"I don't drink," he said by way of excuse. No need to mention Sophia. His teachers had never met her, and he didn't care to give confirmation to any suspicions they might have had about her. "Some of the work I've seen today may make me want to, but I'd rather not let the students break me."
Lol, the phys-ed teacher makes an appearance!
He'd done what he normally did at the end of the year for his students--gotten the last of their physical tests out of the way a week early and then just let them have free gym periods during finals week. After all, when you were already stressed out about writing a paper the length of War and Peace, who wants to worry about the number of sit-ups they can do inside a minute?
He waves at the people he recognized, making his way to the bar and requesting a bottle of warm sake, pouring a little in a cup and sipping, keeping an eye out for Kaoru.
no subject
But.. then again... there was the possibility of the grading curve being put to use. Kaoru hated that. It wasn't something to be used as a crutch, nor something to be used at all! But the school had 'standards to uphold,' and in that respect, her hands were tied.
In the end, she found herself walking into the teacher's party, still thinking about those tests, and not really able to relax yet. It was also that time she saw Mr Himura by the bar, looking calm and collected as usual.
"Good evening, Mr Himura!" She added a pleasant smile to it. "I trust exam week hasn't been terribly stressful on you."
no subject
"Saa, we're not at the school, Kaoru-dono. There's no need for formalities," he said smiling before giving a slightly awkward laugh. "And yes... it's all pass or fail--and this one scheduled everything so that they were done last week."

Done~
sob so late
He walks into the bar, looking for people he knows. He knows he doesn't want beer, but maybe he can get something...ah, rum and Coke. People drink that, don't they? He orders that and hopes Dawn's here. She's easier to talk to.
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, AMIRITE?
"Gabe!" She is drunk enough to pull the shop teacher into a hug, though. Dawn's usual habit of casual touching is made worse by lack of sleep piled upon stress piled upon alcohol. "I wasn't sure you were going to make it. It's good to see you!"
She lets the other teacher out of the hug after a moment, grinning. "Here's to some time off and thank God it's over, right?"
