Summary; Arthur pays a visit to Blair and she takes the opportunity to explain prophylactics to Arthur.
Log; Arthur had decided to stop by and see Blair, especially after the confusing curse they had just had. He really didn't understand about half of what had gone on but from what he understood it was very similar to Blair's world. It might be good to know just how similar all of that was to her daily life.

Not only that, but he needed to scope out her apartment to find out if she had one of those TVs and DVD players that would play the movie Serena had told him about. He managed to find a box that contained the movie that would somehow show them a moving picture of a play. That was actually the last thing he needed to confirm for Thursday night. Other than that, the flowers and pie and other things were all set.

Arthur knocked on the door to her apartment and waited, unconsciously smoothing his shirt and running a hand through his hair. It felt good to be back in his normal clothes and himself again, but this sort of situation, this sort of relationship, was still very foreign to him.

Blair fiddled with her fingers, the way she would whenever she was nervous. She tried her hardest not to start popping her fingers, which would have been irritating and unbecoming. It was difficult when the air was as thick as Fage Total yogurt though, so ridiculously thick or however it was the tagline went. She did not like that thing much, it tasted quite ridiculous. And yes, if you need to ask, she was purposefully making her mind wander.

She would let out a sigh of relief as he finished the task at hand and placed the err finished product on the table, but there seemed to still be something hanging in the air. "Uhm..." Blair wracked her mind for anything else he might need to know. "I have morning-after pills, in case." She stopped, not knowing what else she needed to say. He looked nervous enough about it, and she bet he was confused too. The air, however, was choking her.

"You know, I think this is the part where one of us breaks into laughter and everything will suddenly be okay, or something." She blurted out quickly, instantly regretting her words. Someone had to say it, right?

Her confidence plummeted to unknown depths when he stayed quiet and pursed his lips instead of making an effort to make some laughter-like noise. She pouted to herself as he showed her the banana, raising one eyebrow disinterestedly.

But as he finished, both her eyebrows shot up in incredulity. Did he just make a joke? A little late, she broke into a chuckle. Placing a hand on her face and turning away, still laughing. "I suppose making me laugh is the other option."

Blair simply continued to beam at him in reply to the comment. If asked, she would much prefer frank honesty anyway; flowery speeches always took much effort to decipher and then it would all come back down to whether he really meant it or not. She reached for his hand, giving it slight pressure in assurance.

"Arthur, you're--" Looking down on her lap, she considered her words. There were many things that she knew were true and that she would like to tell him, but she knew that sometimes it was better to keep them guessing, and to keep on guard. This, too, was a game that she needed to play well. Especially when she had so much to lose. Still, she could afford giving him this confession.

She looked back at him. "You're one of the best things that ever happened to me."

Blair gave him a small smile in reply, but to her that meant more than the widest grin she could make. For all the things she missed from back home, it really was worth it to stay here if it meant being with Arthur; not that she would ever admit that to him now, or ever. She did not want him to know that he had her so twisted around his little finger.

Leaning over, she tilted her head to the side to give him a slow but light kiss on the lips.

Blair whimpered in reply, edging herself closer to him and returning the kiss. She placed a hand on the side of his face, tracing his cheekbone. After awhile, she broke the kiss but only because she wanted to look into his eyes. She really liked them.

Resting her forehead on his, she gave him a fond smile.

She figured he would not be. Besides, it might be best not to rush into things, or more like, Blair was remotely scared that the sooner they rush into things the sooner all this would end. They really were literally from different worlds, weren't they? What were the chances of this working out? Even a match made in Heaven like Dan and Serena could not work out the distance between them; and they were only separated to Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Blair smiled under his touch. "I would call you Prince Charming, but Cindy told me the real one is a Casanova."

Blair used to think the same way. Her life was one of privilege after all, and being an only child of a doting father did not improve situations. Yet she had been through times when it was obvious that the universe would not do pirouettes and back-flips with a word from her lips. So it goes, as unbelievable as it may seem, there really were things that Blair Waldorf would not get no matter how hard she wanted them.

She supposed the way around that problem is not to want too much, and only let yourself want when the thing is already yours. Or something.

Laughing, she jokingly hit the side of his head with her fist. "Excuse me, you're the one with the funny accent!"

Blair laughed some more, at his accent, again, but more at his words. It made her wonder if he really was so simple. If all he said really were all he was, or if there were many things he still hid from her. She would not hold that against him; she kept her own secrets after all. Only she doubted that it was as simple as him liking her being the reason for all he did for her. It could not be.

Then, smiling coyly at him, she whispered, "I think yours is sexy."

Blair shivered at the brief touch, and more at the sound of his voice. She had first thought that this would be another game with her holding the upper hand again; like with Marcus. Arthur seemed naive enough at the beginning, and easy to manipulate without her having to invest much of herself. It would have been a convenient position to be in. But more and more she found him getting under her skin.

"With a voice like that," she whispered. "Anything you say would come true."
