Thelma was sitting in her shared apartment, fiddling a bit with what few possessions she had. It wasn't much, just what she'd managed to rescue from her old, long-abandoned apartment she used to keep.

She rather needed a job. And a hobby. Something to keep her occupied. Otherwise she'd just end up... making too much tea, or something.

Kara chewed her lip nervously as she waited outside the apartment. She had waited until Emille was out, x-ray vision was handy for that sort of thing, before she came over to talk to Thelma. She had no idea how this was going to go but she knew it needed to happen.

Knocking on the door she waited patiently for her friend to answer.

Thelma answered the door and smiled.

"Well there you are," she said. "Come in, come in."

Kara smiled back and gave her friend a hug before stepping into the apartment.

"Here I am, in the flesh," she said with a nod. "So are you all settled in?"

"Very settled," Thelma said. "If I was any more settled, I'd be lying on the floor."

Kara thought a moment about making a comment about that, but let that one pass.

"Well good, I'm glad it's not like haunted or anything," she said with a wink.

Thelma stuck her tongue out. "Not funny." But she smiled, anyway.

Kara stuck out her tongue right back.

"Yes it was, it was hilarious," she argued back.

"Oh, fine," Thelma said. "Sit down, take a load off."

"Sure!" she said, heading over to a couching and flopping down on it before her expression turned serious.

"I guess we should talk."

"Right," Thelma said as she sat. "Probably a good idea. Get all our ducks in a row."

Kara nodded and pulled up her knees to her chest.

"You want to go first?" she asked.

Thelma took a deep breath. "Sure," she said.

"I know, it's always been pretty obvious I have feelings for you. But, I know you're not exactly... you know. And I've been pressuring you, and that's not good, for either of us, or our friendship. So I... want to stop. Pressuring you, I mean."

Kara gave a nod and was just quiet for a moment as she thought over what Thelma said.

"God, I'm such a horrible person," she muttered. "Part of me selfishly wishes you wouldn't stop because I like the attention. God, how sick is that?"

Thelma thought for a second. "Hey, no one said I was going to stop being your friend. It's not like anyone's going to remove my eyes and hands or... I'm not sure where I'm going with this."

"After you left I was sure that if you were here again I would take things to the next level," she said. "But now I'm worried that I was just over reacting to your leaving. I mean... I don't want to do something just based on an emotional low and regret it. That would really suck for both of us."

Thelma nodded. "Exactly. Which is probably why we should just be best mates."

"Okay," Kara said with a nod. "But if I realize I really do want more I am totally spilling my guts to you about it."

"Totally fair," Thelma said. "As long as its something you come around to on your own."

"Of course," Kara said, pausing for a moment before launching herself at Thelma and hugging her tight. "I missed you so much."
