Ongoing
When; Thursday night
Rating; PG-13 for the shady-ness that is the Underworld
Characters; Christine
angel_aria, Karen
fervent_inferno and V
velated_v
Summary; V and Karen accompany Christine to the Underworld in search of Gustav Daae. Will they find him?
Log;
Christine fetched her cloak, nervous about whom she was going to attempt to find. Her father....she missed him so much throughout the years. He was all that she had, and when he passed away when she was young, her world lost its sun. It did not mean as much as it had when she had been there to tell her stories, comfort her, and play the violin.
Not until Erik came into her life, and things just seemed to take its course. Now we was to be wed to him, and she wanted her father to be there to walk her down the aisle. He was long dead and gone when she married Raoul, but she accepted it reluctantly. But now...she was in the City. The City was full of endless possibilities, and one of those was that Gustav Daae was here, in the Underworld, she was sure. He was dead after all.
She tied a small pouch of silver francs to her waist, just in case any sort of payment is needed. She waited at the doors of the Opera House for Karen and V to arrive, and then they would all go on their way.

She was silent as V scouted the area, observing with a raised eyebrow as he checked a pocket watch. So he knew how to fight. His courteous nature really did remind her of a certain someone...
With a chuckle, she tucked her hair behind an ear and stepped onto the platform with Christine. "And here I thought -I- was the bodyguard."

Christine descended the steps, followed by Karen. There was no one in the subway, and the cold fluorescent lights cast an eerie glow on the darkened tunnels. She knew monsters lurked there in the black shadows, and unconsciously pulled her cloak closer to herself around her shoulders, the memory of the Pyramid Head creature flitting through her mind for a moment. It was interrupted by the sound of the subway train's headlights emerging from the darkness and coming to a screeching halt at the platform.
The doors hissed open, and a man dressed in rags of a conductor's uniform emerged from the train. His hair was thin and fading, and his skin clung to a body that was slowly rotting away. He smiled at their small group, and she glimpsed bits of rotting musle and bone here and there where the skin had decayed. He gave a flourishing bow towards Christine and Karen, tipping his hat towards V in greeting. He held one skeletal hand out for the payment for their journey.
Christine fumbled at the pouch at her waist, and pulled out three silver francs. The man inspected them curiously, and gave a satisfied smile, tucking them into his pocket, and gesturing for them to board the subway. As Christine passed him onto the train, she read the conductor's nametag: Hello, My Name Is Charon.
Charon, she thought. How fitting. The train was old, and yellowing seats hugged the sides near the windows. Christine took a seat, her eyes drifting to the neon blinking letters which read 'Welcome to the Underworld'. She glanced at her companions. 'Thank you for coming with me.'

He had been about to dissuade Ms. Daae from paying his fare, but in a rare moment of inattention, she had already done so.
Ah well, He supposed he could use his pass for the return trip.
Ms. Daae fount a seat, but V prefferred to stand...far too many unsettling memories of being in subway cars...
He wrapped gloved fingers around the handrail above him instead.
'Thank you for coming with me.'
"Think nothing of it, Madam. I still feel I must make amends for being so disasterously tardy during your unfortunate encounter with the fiend." He replied.
" And besides, Evey would never forgive me if I let you wander into the underworld unnacomapanied"
The last self-deprecating statement was meant to remove any sting from his previous ommision of guilt, and V used Fawkes' grinning visage to full effect in an attempt to make Christine laugh.
