log; ongoing
When; April 21, Early Evening
Rating; PG-13?
Characters; Lelouch vi Britannia [
lel0uch ] & Yuuki [
guardianhime ]
Summary; There comes a time when bathrooms run out of tissue, and one must go out into the world to actually buy them by the economy packs-- because the Rebellion budget doesn't cover your tissue-paper-grocery-buying needs and requesting it costs more in pride money :|
Log;
There were plenty of disadvantages to be had as a result of being dead within the City's walls, however, being a resourceful man that he was, Lelouch had pretty much found ways to actually appreciate the state. While he could be caught preaching about how the city's crude laws on life and death was something base creatures - like the Major, as recent events have demonstrated - reveled at and were therefore a mechanism to be abhorred, it was only the truth that he himself was someone who profited much from it. He supposed it meant that, technically, he had every reason to be thankful to the deities... but that was ridiculous. The Deities could never deserve thanks; his, no less.
Especially when they made it so the undead still functioned like living humans, for the most part. And obviously, because the dead were best left alone dead.
He was pondering all this with a frown as he strode across the streets on his way back to his apartment, but really, the big problem at hand was this: Lelouch vi Britannia, formerly Zero, a man of miracles, and one in possession the Power of Kings... was currently struggling to carry several plastic bags worth of grocery, two of which containing economy pack tissue rolls.
Of course, one must wonder why the former Emperor of Britannia was doing something unbelievably mundane as hauling ( if his efforts were to be used as the basis for using verbs ) grocery bags, but then, in the end, even the leaders of even the most ambitious Rebellions to be mounted were still human. And as such, these highly-elevated members of society that people like to believe are imprevious to mundane tasks, do actually need to do something like buy their own rolls of tissue paper once a month. It was true that he was, once again, found to be the leader of yet another Rebellion ( this new movement answering to the name, Celestial Knights, instead of the more traditional Black Knights that had its roots from his love of the game of chess), and could have therefore simply sent someone to do the task for him but, there were a few hindrances to this line of thought:
a.) Being relatively unknown in this new place, and restricted as he was not when he began his crusade back in his world as Zero, it was absolutely imperative that he build an impeccable reputation: Ordering your subordinates, who expect to be lead against gods, to do your grocery for you was definitely not a way to win respect.
b.) It was, after all, his groceries; there were certain factors like budget and his brand of butter that needed to be considered.
c.) And finally, if he did decide his pride and his reputation could use the slight bruising from one such willful request, it did bring about the fact that Leaders who can't even do something as simple as shop for their own groceries simply could not be trusted to do a good job leading rebellions in the first place. If faced with one such leader, and if Lelouch were a subordinate, he would have easily mounted an uprising and coup'd'tat by that reasoning alone.
Lelouch had considered using Geass, as well, but upon beginning that line of thought, he was only brought back to Hindrance B before he could go any further.
He stopped then, angrily sighed, before going about the business of re-adjusting his grip on his plastic bags. Plan C, he thought grimly: inflict Geass on an innocent bystander and have him/her carry his grocery for him. Nobody would know; but first, he needed to find a secluded alley...

Smiling at her friend, Yuuki stretched leisurely, her hands folded behind her. It was good to get out. She’d yanked everyone from the house the day before, feeling as though she had a lot of making up to do. Although Zero didn’t blame her for the nightmares and neither had anyone else, Yuuki felt partially responsible and guilty for their own bad dreams…
The dreams they had all witnessed…were one that she hadn’t wanted to share with others.
In order to try and prove that she was fine though, she’d put on her brightest face, and found losing herself in her day was the best way to really forget about things. A visit or two to the all you could eat dessert buffer had the magic ability to cure most anything.
Except that she felt a little nauseous after all the chocolate.
I need to walk some of this off…
If she actually gained weight, she didn’t think that Zero or anyone else would ever let her live it down. No one seemed to understand that a treat every once in a while could be healthy.
Just as she was about to step up onto an upraised ledge, she noticed someone down the street struggling; several bags piled high up into their arms. Observing a moment, she wondered if they were going to make it. From the look of things she thought it was likely that in any moment those newly purchased groceries were about to land on the floor.
“Hey…wait here a second.”
She said to her short-haired friend, rushing forward to try and make it to the individual in time.
“Hey! Do you need help? Here, let me take some of—“
She began, already reaching out to catch the ones that looked to be in the most dangerous positions of all…before she paused in surprise.
“Lelouch-san…?”

"Miss Yuuki," Lelouch said quietly, employing as much charm as he could muster. A part of him was well aware of several facts concerning his friendship with Yuuki; Firstly, he was sure the younger woman was likely to make fun of his apparent inability to carry out such a simple task of carrying his groceries back to his apartment. Secondly, he was also sure that Miss Yuuki was aware of his failure to deliver a White Day's gift. Of course, he reasoned to himself on the subject of the latter fact: he possessed the gift for Yuuki, it was just that he hadn't found the right time to deliver it. He had been reasonably busy in the past few weeks. "What a surprise, meeting you like this today."
