When; Noon, May 22nd
Rating; PG
Characters; Kirk
starfleet_pimp and Beast
lackingbeauty
Summary; Kirk has a lunch date with the reluctant Beast
Log; Kirk had left Mara's place that morning with plenty of time to head back to his own apartment to shower and change and be by Cafe Juliet by noon. While he didn't mind walking everywhere getting a bike would certainly be nice. Maybe something classic from the late 21st Century or early 22nd.
It wasn't that big of a deal though, he was at Cafe Juliet by noon, this time opting for being in full uniform. Ladies loved a uniform and generally felt more comfortable around them and Beast seemed plenty suspicious of him already. Not that Kirk couldn't be above reproach when he wanted to, but he'd have to turn in his man card if he didn't at least see how far he could get with a girl that had as gorgeous... assets as Beast.

"Starship?"

"760 meters long, 190 meters tall and with a crew of 1100, it can make the trip to Vulcan in just over three minutes," he said, pausing when he realized that last part probably didn't mean anything to her. "It can travel between planets very quickly."

"Don't think I'm that daft, Cap'n." Scoffed, in utter inability to comprehend such a thing, what- travelling from Earth?
Impossible, right?

"Fine, you've a point." He did indeed. How could she deny that, when this place...
"Still seems awful far fetched, if you catch my drift." A vague gesture with her hand, crimson fishnets over painted nails. "'Sides, you're too young to be an officer, aren't ya?" By her memory of military, at any rate.

"I'm the youngest captain in the history of Starfleet," Kirk said, slightly less proud about that than he was over his ship. "I was acting captain during a battle and promoted to full captain for exemplary service to the Federation."

"So what does Starfleet do, then?"
no subject
"It's the military and deep-space exploratory service maintained by the United Federation of Planets. My current mission is to to explore a strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations."

"This whole place is a load of-" But she shook her head, because... well, it could be true, then, couldn't it?
"... right, then. Sounds important."

"You don't believe a word I'm saying, do you?" he asked, smiling over at her so that she knew he wasn't upset by it.
"Maybe we should stick to my life before Starfleet. I grew up in Iowa, which is one of the most boring places on Earth. Or any planet."
no subject
"In't that..." To be honest, Beast hadn't the best education. She had trouble reading, (something that more than drove her mad in this place), and wasn't the best when it came to knowledge of geography and learning, but-
"... the Americas?" Sounded right to her, anyway. But then again, the Americas had the weirdest sounding things to start off with.
no subject
"Yes, in what used to be the United States of America," he said with a nod. "Almost dead center. Very, very boring place."

"Got it, then. Iowa." But in her mind, she was struggling to place it from the maps Father had.
"You enjoyin' this fool place, then."
no subject
"I'm trying to," he said. "Just because I don't think they want us to enjoy it here. But I would rather be back on my ship."
no subject
"I plan on not, thank you, kindly."
Soooooooooo late, sooooooooo sorry.
:3 forgiven
"... you gonna feed me, or we gonna talk all day?"
TY <3
"But we can eat too."
<3
"You like hearin' me talk?" Brow raised skeptically, at the odd sounding phrase, crossing her legs, mindful for the prosthetic to be the top, unwilling to put the weight of her other on the joints, without noticing it herself, she smoothed her stocking over the ball-jointed knee.
Re: <3
"Why is that so hard to believe?" he asked.

"Think I don't know a spoon-fed line when I hear one?"

"Everyone from East End's got it. S'not special."
no subject
"Why are you so adverse to being complimented?"
no subject
"'Cause I can't abide liars."
