Summary; Two people with "K" names go on a date. Worst summary ever.

Kitty might admit that she spent some amount of time trying to pick out something to wear but she’d never admit just how long. Probably because eventually she’d lost track of time and in the end she just ended up frustrated and picking out something she was comfortable with; a black halter top shirt with a pair of stonewash jeans. She walked through her room’s wall and then through the cabin’s door, doors were for people who--well needed doors, and then made her way towards the Moss Garden.

She wasn’t sure why she was nervous it’s not like she really should be, or should she? It wasn’t Kaidan that made her nervous but rather the fact that he’d asked her out. Which wasn’t a bad thing at all, in fact she thought it was a good thing but she always had the worry of that semi-inevitable part where she’d say something insanely embarrassing. Or that some sort of evil power would decide this exact moment would be the perfect time to execute their new plan to destroy members of the X-Men. At least here that one wasn’t that likely.

Either way she was still really looking forward to seeing him.

"Hell," he said, almost as much to himself as to Kitty, but he smiled all the while, "I am boring."

"Aww but at least you're cute while being boring," she said. She kind of stared for a moment as if she really hadn't meant to say that out loud and tried to turn her face away as she blushed.

Kaidan smiled. She really thought so? It was nice being around someone that didn't constantly think your head was going to explode or that you were suddenly going to turn on them and rip their throats out to smash them through a wall.

"Thanks, Kitty."

"Really, I um...I meant it. If that's not weird to say, it probably is, sorry." She smiled awkwardly.

"It's not weird," He said, stopping and pulling gently on her hand to stop her as well. "It's a compliment, and I thank you."

"You're welcome then," she said stopping.

Kaidan let his eyes wander over her for a moment, taking her in. She wasn't dressed to impress or anything like that, but her clothes, in that respect, just accented her natural beauty. The curve of her lips, the bounce of her hair in the wind, it all seemed to be just another part of her. She was comfortable like this. Kaidan could definitely respect that.

"Well," he said, his voice quiet. "I mean this: you're beautiful."

Kitty feel uncomfortable when he looked at her, she had that feeling of maybe not being that great to look at that. He was really handsome himself and she always did have lower confidence in the looks and people department.

She really turned red at that, "Jeez and I'd just turned a normal shade again," she said with a chuckle. "Thank you...that's really nice of you."

"It's also true, Kitty," he said, "no matter what you may think."

She tried to make her smile as confident as possible, "What makes you think I may think differently?"

He smoothed a hand over her hair. "The way you can't quite meet my eyes when you agree."

She looked down, "Maybe you're just tall or just not looking right."

"Maybe," He said, with his quiet, resoluteness. He leaned down, brushing his lips briefly against hers. It wasn't much of a kiss, but he didn't want to press his luck.

She smiled at him she was a little surprised by his kiss, but she wasn't unhappy about it. At the same time though she hesitated, not sure what to say exactly as she became more aware of conflicting feelings in her.

"Not a bad start to an adventurous side," she said trying to shake off her feelings, this was supposed to be a fun date and she did like him.

"I'm a quick study," he said, still smiling. The smile faltered after a moment, though.

"What's wrong, Kitty?"

She smiled broadly, "Nothing Kaidan. Do you like the garden?"

He looked around and breathed deep. The scent was conforting, mixing with the smell of Kitty's shampoo, he believed. It was nice, peaceful, tranquil. He looked back to her and smiled.

"I haven't seen anything I didn't like, yet."

"It's peaceful isn't it? I'm glad I got to come with you," she said looking at him.

He was quiet for a moment, this thoughts running away from him, before he said, without looking toward her. "In a place like this City, I wondering, is this Garden meant to be a distraction or an apology."

"I actually think the garden wasn't made exactly by the City. I'm not sure but I think it was created by a citizen," she said. "Anything on your mind?"

He shook his head slightly. "No. I was just thinking about this place and how you're trapped here, but it's really not so bad."

She sighed a little, "It could be worse...I think now that I'm here and know again I'm glad I'm here..." she paused as a mixture of fright and sadness passed over her face, "It's not that bad. Do you miss your home?"

"I have more friends here than I did there." He was thoughtful for a moment, though. "But...we're sort of in the middle of trying to save the galaxy, so yeah, I miss it a bit."

"If I had a dollar for every time that happened I'd be rich," She said smirking. "Friends are better then universe saving adventures, they're over-rated anyway. You risk your life for it and loose people you love to save it or people and you get nothing for it but the loss." She tried not to sound overly bitter but it probably didn't go well.
