Log; Ongoing
When; Wednesday, June 17th. Early Morning
Characters; James T. Kirk
starfleet_pimp and Shalimar Fox
feralside
Summary; Kirk and Shalimar go rock climbing.
Log;It was a short hike along the beach from where the transporter brought them from the city proper to the beach. The walk with Shalimar was actually rather pleasant. Kirk liked spending time with her despite the fact that they couldn't have sex for another 10 days, which was kind of weird, but not unpleasant. It was interesting how good of a time you could have with a girl like Shalimar when you weren't thinking about the sex you might have.
"Here it is," Kirk said, finally stopping in front of a section of the cliff. It wasn't the most difficult part to climb, but he had scouted a spot that would at least be challenging.
In shorts and a shirt with no sleeves, the only equipment Kirk had brought was a bag of chalk and special shoes that would help him grip the cliff better. He was never one for ropes, picks, and spikes. Knowing that you might fall and get injured or die was half the point.

"Not a bad choice, should at least be a tiny challenge," Shalimar said looking at the cliff.
All she'd brought was herself wearing just some tight fitting jeans and a tank top shirt. Equipment was the last thing she'd need or want, what fun would making it safe be anyway?
"If you fall though, I'm not catching you," she said it in a way that showed she was just teasing.

He reached into his pouch and chalked his hands before stepping up to the cliff and finding a handhold.
"Well, if one of us falls it will certainly be easier for you to carry my body back for help than vice versa," he said before hoisting himself up.

She didn't feel like showing off too much, she could have jumped up a few feet and already been ahead of him. But she found herself comfortable with him and lacking the need to overly impress him. Placing a hand on the cliff she started on her way up at a comfortable pace.
"Should I be insulted by that Kirk?" she said laughing.
no subject
"Now see," he said with a grunt as he pulled himself up. "If I had implied I was just as strong and fast as you, you would have laughed at me."
no subject
"I didn't know you were wise along with being sexy," she said while continuing to climb up. She thought that Kirk would be pleased to see that she was at least sweating at least a tiny bit.
no subject
"Maybe I'm just getting to know you," he told her, smiling. And he did like seeing her swear a little bit, although he wasn't sure if that was because it meant it was slightly strenuous for her or she just looked good exerting herself.
no subject
She lingered where she was waiting for him to catch up and giving a nod upwards to indicate that he could take the lead and be first. It was a huge concession for her to make.
no subject
"I'll probably still be trying to figure out the puzzle for a while," he said as he moved past her, stopping for a moment as he mapped out where he wanted to go. "But every time I figure out a little bit more, I find something else about you I like."
no subject
"You'll never figure it out," she said looking up at him as he moved past her and she grinned because the view wasn't bad at all from below him. "Likewise Kirk. I'm looking forward to trying to figure out you and your puzzle. Because honestly you are one too."
no subject
"The fun is in the trying," he told her. He glanced up at the cliff face and frowned. He'd made a bad decision in his course, Kirk needed to grab on to a handhold that was a few inches out of reach to his left.
"And I know know what you mean about me being a puzzled," he said, just before he let go with his left hand, swung to the right, and let go with both hands once he moved back to the right. For a moment he wasn't gripping anything until his hand snagged the new hold and he secured himself to the rock with a grunt.
"I'm just an Iowa farm boy."
no subject
"You'll have to do some really good trying then," she smirked at him.
"I'm not sure I knew that about you, did you milk cows?" Shalimar couldn't help but laugh at that, she tried really hard to prevent it though.

"So what was your farm like?" she asked continuing behind him.
no subject
"And a lot of it is automated and requires a lot less effort," he added. "A lot of the disease and things more common to turn of the 21st century farms aren't a problem anymore."
no subject
"Sounds like it must be a lot easier," Shalimar continued to climb only slightly behind him. They seemed to be getting to the top now or at least close. "No plagues of locusts then?" she asked with a little laugh.
no subject
"Just because famine, disease, and war is wiped out on Earth and things are more automated, people always find trouble," he said. "Some humans don't like Vulcans, Vulcans don't really care for humans a lot of the time, no one likes the Romulans, and space is full of messy things."
no subject
She was sweating more then before herself and her hair had become slightly damp because of that, yet her look didn't even have a hint of tiredness in it. "Why does no one like the Romulans?"
no subject
"That usually puts the rest of us in a bad mood."
no subject
"No matter what time or what world I guess you can't escape people like that," Shalimar shrugged and continued on up.
no subject
"You seem like the kind of girl that enjoys bashing the heads in of people stupid enough to want to kill her."
no subject
"I do. Especially since most of the time their goal isn't just to kill me," she said with a scoff.
no subject
Kirk sat himself down on the edge of the cliff and let his arms hang loosely from his sides. The climb had been at least a bit strenuous for him.
"And just what is there goal most of the time?"
no subject
She sat down and sighed a little, "Boring story about my life I'm sure you're not interested in."
no subject
Kirk knew that it was maybe an iffy thing to ask her. Guessing from her hints about a bad childhood and her refusal to go in a hospital, he could guess at some of what she might have had to deal with.
"You listened to me talk about farms," he added. "It can't be anymore boring than that."
no subject
"I don't know, I think the only reason the last person here I told didn't die of boredom was because he's pretty much immortal," she made a bit of a forced laugh.
"Farms are much more interesting then what I do," she said.
