Tea Makes Everything Better [Ongoing Log]
When; Powers Switch Day (now)
Rating; G+
Characters; Hermione [
leviosa_spell] and Draco [
regal_reptile]
Summary; After Hermione argues with Ron [
knight_to_e5] over Draco, Draco offers to make her wandless tea and chat things over.
OOC Note; I totally screwed this up and posted it in my journal instead of
tampered and only noticed it now. *headdesk* Link in the comments to the proper thread.
Log;
It took some getting used to, the life of a muggle. He had to actually get off the bed onto the cold floors to get a pair of socks, his hair was a mess, and he couldn't punish that little brat of a monkey for taking his wand. Of course, it was really the City's fault, but that wouldn't stop him from jinxing the snot out of the little rat once it was all over and done with.
Pulling a jumper on over his shirt, he checked himself in the mirror (grimacing at his hair) and flicked the electronic journal off as he headed out of his suite of rooms for the back of the Opera House. He couldn't get rid of the nagging feeling that he was forgetting something, even though he knew it was the absence of the wand in his pocket that was setting it off.
He didn't even notice the time it took to get through the maze of passageways to get to the utilitarian kitchen, thinking about the new mess he was in: namely, his newly arrived parents and co. When he arrived, Hermione wasn't there yet, so he started poking around the shelves in an attempt to find the kettle. Everything was so much slower without a wand...

His words from all those weeks ago still echoed in her mind. "If I could kill him, I would."
"Our true enemy is one and the same," Hermione murmured, gaze lowering to settle on the finger Draco was lazily moving on the surface of the table. "Won't you consider..."
Joining forces? Uniting with us?
"...or is that too much to ask?"
She wasn't expecting Draco to change course, if he even bothered to give her an answer, but somehow, Hermione still felt compelled to ask. If she left now, despite the presence of all the other Slytherins in the City, Hermione still felt that it would be akin to abandoning Draco, leaving him completely on his own. And she didn't have the heart to do it.

"Hermione..." he started, and caught himself. Much, much too friendly. "Granger. These are my parents. Besides, I'm not about to be all noble and rightious by coming over to join you and your blokes despite the fact that it might get me killed."
This time his lips did twist into a familiar sardonic smile. He wasn't going to tell her to go, but he wasn't going to come with her either. He couldn't promise her any kind of protection, and neither could she do for him. They were at an impasse.

Lips tautening into a thin line, Hermione's eyes closed resignedly before she stood up a mere few seconds later, drawing herself to her full height. "Fine. I understand completely, Malfoy. You are a Slytherin through and through. No need to tell me further."
Turning sharply, Hermione flashed a final glare at the all too familiar smirk she saw curl on Draco's lips. "If you do anything to them... I won't forgive you. And if you hurt them, don't expect me to waste a breath trying to protect you."
Biting her lip in frustration, Hermione strode quickly out of the room, plans of leaving the Opera House already formulating in her mind.

He was becoming quite good at ruining everything, actually. At least there was that to be proud of.
When his fingers found the scar across his chest, he felt a yearning for a good old fashioned brawl with Harry Potter to vent his fustrations - but he didn't have his magic.
Letting out a growl of fustration, Draco Malfoy dumped the dirty tea things and stalked back to his room. What a waste of a day.
